De jungle, rivieren, grotten, canyons, flora en fauna hebben van deze majestueuze jungle de ideale plek gemaakt om te wandelen en contact te maken met de natuur. Volgens de verhalen van de lokale bevolking maakt de spirituele verbinding met de natuur het mogelijk om rust te vinden in de jungle. Het kristalheldere water van de rivieren geeft een gevoel van vrede en verjonging aan iedereen die erin baadt. Deze tour is ideaal voor degenen die verbinding willen maken met de natuur en de geheimen en mythen van de jungle willen leren kennen.

Om 9.00 uur verzamelen we bij het Akangau-tourkantoor in Tena. Van daaruit nemen we een privéauto naar het Boven-Amazonegebied. De reis van de dag begint met een wandeling van 3 uur naar een ongelooflijk uitkijkpunt met uitzicht op het indrukwekkende panoramische uitzicht op de rivier de Napo, die een directe zijrivier is van de Amazone. Onderweg legt de gids uit hoe onze voorouders de hulpbronnen van de jungle gebruikten om te overleven. Je leert over de flora en fauna van de jungle, waaronder veel geneeskrachtige planten. We zullen stoppen om het uitzicht op de Amazone bij het uitkijkpunt te observeren, en we zullen een hapje eten en dan op weg gaan naar de mystieke "Route of the Dreams". Dit is een duizend jaar oud pad dat door oude mensen werd gebruikt om tussen gemeenschappen en naar de rivier de Napo te reizen. Je bezoekt de Kali Kali-grotten waar papegaaien één keer per jaar samenkomen om te paren. Dit eeuwenoude pad voert door schoon water en weelderige canyons. We arriveren rond 15.00 uur in de gemeenschap van Uchuculin, waar we zullen genieten van een heerlijke lunch.

What a fantastic day spent in the Amazon with Misael. We both learnt so much about the fauna and flora and the indigenous Kichwa people. Misael was very knowledgeable and passionate about Amazon and its people and culture. His English was very good. The trek was exciting and took us through dense jungle and a beautiful river. Finished the day with a delicious meal together. We would highly recommend this tour with Misael. You must have reasonable fitness. Thank you Misael.
Absolutely wonderful off the beaten track adventure into the rainforest. We learned so much about the indigenous way of life whilst being immersed in nature and fabulous wildlife. A must do!!
Great day in the jungle with our amazing host Misael, who taught us about the plants, animals, and survival/bushcraft in the Amazon. Beautiful weather, great workout, good time had by all, HIGHLY recommend doing this one, definitely a highlight.
We had a great time in our Akangau tour. It was a great experience from the start to finish - personalized to our expectations and abilities, even provided us with a translator which was very helpful. Misael was very welcoming and explained everything before and after. It was raining the entire time but our tour guide was very patient and helped in crossing the river. It was not easy one for us but we enjoyed thoroughly. It was a once in a lifetime experience. We would recommend this tour to anybody who is physically fit. Thanks a lot to the entire Akangau Team. It was a great experience. Our guide got us safely through the jungle. He explained many things to us and was able to answer all our questions. The tour was not just a normal hike. On the way we also had to hike through a river and swim in it to make and finish the hike. For us it was a huge adventure. However, you have to know that you should be able to swim. Overall an unforgettable experience!
We had a fantastic full-day jungle tour in Tena and were very impressed with the experience. The day started with a short but fascinating walk through the jungle. We then enjoyed another peaceful canoe trip on a lake before visiting an indigenous village, where we learned about traditions and daily life. The tour was well organized, our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, and we came away with unforgettable memories. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Tena!

I highly recommend this agency if you're looking for an authentic experience in the Amazon jungle in Tena. I had the chance to experience a 3-day trip with the Dream Path. I learned a lot about the Kichwa culture, medicinal plants, and the animals of the forest during my stay. My accommodation was very comfortable. Additionally, my questions were quickly answered via WhatsApp. Overall, I have only positive things to say about this experience.
I had an amazing time exploring the Route of the Dreams and the rivers near Tena! Misael is a fountain of information about history of the Amazonian jungle of Ecuador, where he was born and raised. His passion made this experience pure, authentic and unique. He was always so nice, respectful, accommodating and ensured I was always safe during any activity. Belen is pure gold! She had been super attentive since the first interaction, very sweet and personable, making sure my trip went smoothly from start to finish. I appreciate Akangau Jungle Expeditions so much for everything and more! The best cultural experience of my life and will be coming back to do it again! Recommend them to everyone but for me as a female solo traveler they were perfect and I was so safe which is the most important thing for me!
