Doe mee aan een authentieke rondleiding door een favela in Rio de Janeiro. Leer meer over de lokale cultuur van een gids die daadwerkelijk in de gemeenschap woont en bezoek ongelooflijke plaatsen voor adembenemende uitzichten.

In deze tour zullen we samen met bewoners naar de top van de favela klimmen waar de toerist de sfeer van de favela zal voelen tijdens een rondleiding door de steegjes en steegjes waar de geschiedenis van de favela wordt verteld. Direct bij de ingang van de favela is de plek waar enkele scènes uit de film Fast and Furious 5 zijn opgenomen. Delen van Tropa de Elite 2 werden ook gefilmd in de gemeenschap, om nog maar te zwijgen van de lijst met artiesten die de plaats hebben bezocht, zoals popsterren Michael Jackson en Madonna, evenals persoonlijkheden zoals Alicia Keys, Vin Diesel, Hugh Jackman, Jason Statham tussen anderen. A great way to see how 50% of Rio live and a far cry from the beaches of Copacabana. Despite the minimal living space and rudimentary facilities there is a n order to how things work in the Favelas. Our guide Leonardo was great and for those concerned with the security aspect we felt safe and people were unerringly polite. We’ll worth doing. Santa Marta is one of the smaller favelas so you can cover it in a couple of hours and there is a funicular that transports you to the Chapel at the top…then it’s all downhill.

The view from the favelas was what I liked the most. I recommend other visitors to visit only one favela as we did on this tour.
