Tijdens deze dagtour verken je de levendige medina van Marrakech samen met onze deskundige stadsgids. Vanaf het iconische Jamaa el Fna-plein duik je in de belangrijkste historische bezienswaardigheden van de stad, zoals de torenhoge Koutoubia-moskee, het elegante Bahia-paleis en de historische Ben Youssef Medrassa. Terwijl u door de smalle steegjes van de Medina wandelt, ervaart u ook de levendige, traditionele soeks, waar u authentieke Marokkaanse ambachten en goederen kunt ontdekken. De tour kan worden afgestemd op uw specifieke interesses. Houd er rekening mee dat de toegangsprijzen voor attracties niet zijn inbegrepen in de tourkosten. Je gids zal de plekken aanbevelen die je absoluut moet bezoeken, en je hebt ook de flexibiliteit om te kiezen welke sites je prioriteit geeft.

Wandel rond de Koutoubia-moskee met zijn torenhoge minaret, de hoogste in Marrakech. Binnen de stadsmuren mag geen enkel gebouw hoger zijn dan de Koutoubia. De minaret is onderdeel van de grootste moskee in Marrakech, die in 1199 werd voltooid.
Je zult een wandeling moeten maken om Jemaa el Fna, het belangrijkste plein in de medina en een UNESCO-werelderfgoed, te verkennen. Hoewel het nu gevuld was met straatartiesten, slangenbezweerders, kooplieden en sinaasappelsapkraampjes, werd het toen het in 1050 werd gemaakt, gebruikt voor openbare executies, wat misschien leidde tot zijn naam die kan worden vertaald als "vergadering van de dood".
Bahia Palace, een laat 19e-eeuws paleis gebouwd voor de grootvizier en vernoemd naar zijn favoriete vrouw. De kamers, gelegen in een tuin van 2 hectare, omvatten de kamers die zijn harem huisvestten, een vaak politieke positie.
De Madrassa is een oude islamitische school, en de Ben Youssef-school is de grootste in de Maghreb-regio. Op deze historische plek zie je de prachtige Marokkaanse architectuur, van de Zellij-tegels tot het gips- en stuco-snijwerk en de kalligrafie, evenals de prachtige cederhoutwerken op de bogen en plafonds van de plek.
Ga naar de soeks rond Jemaa el Fna en stop bij een Berber-apotheker, waar je leert over het medicinale gebruik van veel van de gewone specerijen en kruiden die nog steeds in heel Marokko worden gebruikt om veelvoorkomende ziekten te behandelen. Mohamed took us to the best of the medina and we really enjoyed our time with him. Can’t recommend him highly enough.
