Als u de adem van de voormalige Sovjet-Unie wilt voelen, nodigen wij u uit om Transnistrië te bezoeken. Het zal spannend en interessant zijn. Deze regio werd gevormd na de oorlog in 1992 en is onafhankelijk van Moldavië, hoewel het officieel wordt beschouwd als onderdeel van Moldavië. Het heeft zijn eigen munteenheid, eigen president en drie officiële talen. We zullen plaatsen en gebouwen bezoeken uit de voormalige USSR. U zult Lenin-monumenten zien, het majestueuze Huis van de Sovjets in de stijl van het Stalinisme, het 16e-eeuwse Bendery-fort. U zult de USSR-kantine bezoeken, waar veel oude Sovjet-dingen worden verzameld. Het hoogtepunt van uw reis zal een bezoek zijn aan een privé-pension "Usadba Acasa" in een Bulgaars dorp van Parcani, waar we zullen lunchen. De lunch wordt bereid door zorgzame gastheren in de beste nationale tradities. Hier proeft u heerlijke zelfgemaakte wijn en neemt u deel aan een folklorevoorstelling, maakt u kennis met het leven van de lokale bewoners, nationale tradities

Tijdens onze verkenning krijgen we de gelegenheid om het historische Bender-fort te bezichtigen, gelegen aan de oostelijke oever van de rivier de Dnjestr in de stad Bender. Dit fort, dat dateert uit de 16e eeuw, heeft een grote architectonische waarde en getuigt van de integratie van de stad in het Ottomaanse rijk. De bouw van dit opmerkelijke bolwerk begon in 1538 en markeerde een belangrijk tijdperk in zijn geschiedenis.
Het Memorial of Memory and Sorrow werd opgericht ter nagedachtenis aan de verdedigers van de Transnistrische stad Bendery, die stierven tijdens het Transnistrische conflict in 1992.
We gaan met het openbaar vervoer naar de hoofdstad van de PMR, de stad Tiraspol, gebouwd bij decreet van de Russische keizerin Catherine II - momenteel is het een moderne stad, de hoofdstad van een kleine onafhankelijke staat. In het centrum van Tiraspol staat nog steeds een monument voor Lenin.

Het Memorial of Glory is het belangrijkste historische en herdenkingscomplex van de stad Tiraspol, de hoofdstad van de Pridnestrovische Moldavische Republiek. Geopend in 1972. Deelnemers aan de Burgeroorlog, de Grote Patriottische Oorlog, evenals deelnemers aan de verdediging van Transnistrië in 1992 zijn hier begraven.
Monument voor V.I. Lenin - een symbool van het revolutionaire en Sovjettijdperk. Opgericht in 1987. Gelegen tegenover het gebouw van de Hoge Raad en de regering van de PMR.
Het Huis van de Sovjets is een van de centrale gebouwen van Tiraspol, de hoofdstad van de Pridnestrovische Moldavische Republiek. Een architectonisch monument in de stijl van het stalinistische rijk. Het gebouw huisvest nu de gemeenteraad van Tiraspol.
We bezoeken een sfeervol café "Stolovka USSR", in Sovjet stijl.
De lunch vindt plaats tussen 13 - 14 uur in een pension in het dorp Parkany. Voor lunch 15 EUR/pers. Of de lunch is in de Sovjetkantine in Bendery.

This was one of the most interesting tours in a most unusual place, the country that apparently doesn't exist! Tatiana was a most knowledgeable and approachable guide and gave us many helpful tips. We visited all the main attractions in Tiraspol and also spent time in Bender after lunch at her parents house which included homemade wine and brandy! Would highly recommend visiting Pridnestrovie (Transnistria) for an authentic experience off the beaten track.

I recently took the tour to Pridnestrovie, and it turned out to be a really unique and memorable experience. The whole trip was very well organized, and the guide did an excellent job explaining the complex history and political background of the region in a way that was easy to understand and genuinely interesting. It’s not a place you can fully appreciate without context, and the tour really helped bring everything to life. What stood out most was how much culture there is packed into such a small and unusual territory, from Soviet-era monuments to local traditions that you wouldn’t encounter elsewhere. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in history, geopolitics, or just visiting somewhere off the beaten path. It’s not your typical destination, which is exactly what makes it worth experiencing.

Excellent value, a must do for anyone with an interest in European history. Our guide Tatiana was very knowledgeable and friendly and the lunch and wine at her parent’s’ house was delicious. There is a lot of walking but everywhere we went was spotlessly clean, well-maintained and extremely safe. The only slight criticism is Tatiana’s English pronunciation (eg pronouncing “Latin” as “Lay-tan”, which confused a lot of people. Her vocabulary and grammar are great but her pronunciation is difficult to understand at times). But, only a minor issue…the whole trip was an amazing experience and value!

There were only three of us plus guide and driver. An absolute stroke of luck the two. It began with the Jedi first recognizing the Fuhrer. She couldn't get the cardboard with my name out of her purse. We had a wonderful day and how the later evening went, the singer's courtesy is silent. The Jedi must protect his new friends. ;-}
