Ontdek een fascinerende wereld op korte afstand van Rome, een tour in het hart van het Romeinse platteland, de “Castelli Romani”: een werkelijk unieke ervaring. De tour begint vanuit uw hotel en rijdt langs de "Via Appia Antica" om het prachtige landschap en historische dorpen zoals Castel Gandolfo, de zomerresidentie van de paus, te bewonderen. Stop voor een bezoek aan een wijnmakerij (optioneel vereist) waar u 4 soorten van de beste wijnen uit dit bloeiende gebied kunt proeven met proeverijen van lokale producten. De tour gaat verder aan de oever van het van vulkanische oorsprong afkomstige Lake Albano om de beroemde “Porchetta” en andere typische lokale producten te proeven en te genieten van de lokale wijn “Romanella”. Vervolgens bereikt u Nemi, waar het beroemde Museum van Romeinse Schepen is gevestigd, beroemd om zijn Aardbeienfestival (eerste weekend van juni) en om zijn meer omgeven door een zeer magische sfeer. Dan terug naar Rome.

This is an excellent tour! If you have an extra day while in Rome book this tour! It could not have been nicer. The wine, the food, the countryside, the tour guide… Everything was perfect. Antoinetta and Peter were so accommodating and nice and full of knowledge. It was a wonderful day!

We had a great experience on this tour overall. First, I want to highlight our tour guide and driver, Antonietta & Pietro. They were both excellent. Very friendly, professional, and never rushed us at any point. Our tour was completely private, just my wife and me. They picked us up right on time at 10 AM from our Airbnb and communication before and during the tour was very good. The drive about 35–40 minutes south of Rome was beautiful, and the places we visited were very nice. The food and wine we tried were also very good and felt very authentic to the region. The only reason this is not a 5/5 experience for us is the visit to the wine cellar, which also serves as a small wine museum. This felt like the most important part of the tour, but unfortunately there was very little explanation about the wines or the history of the cellar. There was a lot to see and many wines displayed, but neither the tour guide nor the restaurant staff explained much about them, which made that part feel a bit confusing and incomplete. Other than that, the experience was wonderful. It’s also worth mentioning that if you are specifically looking for a detailed wine tasting tour, this may not be the best option. This tour is more about enjoying the Roman countryside, visiting small towns, trying local food, seeing beautiful places, and tasting some wines along the way. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for a romantic and private day exploring the countryside outside of Rome.

An incredible day outside of Roman learning about the Pope’s summer residence, seeing incredible views and enjoying the charm of slower paced smaller cities. An unforgettable day in Lazio! From the cobblestone streets to a scenic drive just an hour outside Rome, this tour had it all—fabulous wine tasting near the Pope’s summer residence, lunch on a cliff overlooking a lake, and even a stop for cappuccino and strawberry pastries! A special highlight was meeting a local artist in Nemi who welcomed us into his underground tunnel and museum—so unique!
