Rome: Rondleiding door Trevifontein en ondergrondse Domus

Duik 9 meter onder het oppervlak van Rome en ontdek de geheimen ervan tijdens een rondleiding. Leer de geschiedenis van de stad kennen terwijl je de oude Romeinse overblijfselen bewondert tijdens een rondleiding van 45 minuten door de ondergrondse gangen. Dwaal door de drie delen van het antiquair en ontdek waarom dit archeologische gebied de 'Stad van het Water' wordt genoemd. Begin met het doen van een wens bij de iconische Trevifontein, de grootste barokke fontein in de stad. Ga vervolgens ondergronds en bewonder de ruïnes die helemaal teruggaan tot het oude Rome. Deze geschiedenis komt tot leven met de hulp van een professionele gids, die het verhaal achter het archeologische gebied Vicus Caprarius zal uitleggen. Leer meer over de bevindingen die zijn ontdekt tijdens de opgravingen, waaronder kostbare polychrome marmeren bekledingen, het beroemde hoofd van Alessandro Helios, een schatkamer met 800 munten en de spatheia, speciale Afrikaanse amforen voor het transport van olie.

Dit ondergrondse aquaduct werd in 1999 ontdekt in de kelder van een bioscoop. Binnenin is een watertank zichtbaar die verbonden is met het Vergine-aquaduct.
Gooi eventueel een muntje in het water. Volgens de legende ben je er dan zeker van dat je ooit nog eens naar Rome terugkeert.

This is very cool and unexpected history . It makes you realize we as humans were extremely smart back then maybe not so much now.
Great tour! Our guide was fun and informative. It was a nice reprieve from the summer heat and a wonderful opportunity to see a part of Rome that not everyone rushes off to see.

This tour was fun and informative. The guide was knowledgeable and did a great job explaining the history and archeology. Gelato was good and refreshing in the extreme heat.
It started out with the address location and directions being very difficult to find. We found ourselves completely lost and we arrived ten mins late to begin our tour. Our guide seemed knowledgeable but not confident and didn’t truly capture the attention of the group. Also, we understood that the gelato experience was part of the tour and that was not the case. It later became apparent that you needed to choose the experience separately but that was never the option when buying the tickets. Also, when it came time to head over to the Trevi fountain, the guide just released us to do that on our own instead of as a group so that created some confusion with our group.

This was a fascinating tour to the DOMUS under the fountain. The archaeology was super interesting, and the water works were fascinating. By having an early appointment, I was able to finally access the Trevi fountain, as was my friend who was with me. She lives in Italy in Perugia and had never been there. It was an excellent tour and I would recommend it.

Really interesting visit underground near to the Trevi Fountain to view the archeology and history of an ancient Roman house. Our guide, Naomi, was really informative. She dropped us off at the Fountain for pictures etc. Really enjoyed the trip. Good value for money.
