Rome: Rondleiding door het Vaticaanmuseum en de Sixtijnse Kapel

AWFUL! We waited near a subway entrance for 1 hour, and the guide never showed up. We received the cancellation information well after the meeting time. To be avoided!

The first admission tickets that were booked were cancelled on us the evening before the tour. We booked another admission through another operator for roughly the same time as the original, and had to pay almost double for the same package. On the day of our admission booking, the tour company then pushed our time back by 4 hours, saying they ran out of tickets. The tour company does not have an office and had us meet on front of a movie theatre. He then rushed us to the Vatican gates and just had us cut through the regular lineup, clearly having backdoor arrangements with Vatican workers to let them cut. He then had us wait near the ticket booth while he bought the 20 euro tickets we paid around 115 euro each for. Terrible service, very sketchy, rip off, tourist trap, and I would like a refund.

We were staying at the Hotel Raganelli in Rome and we wanted to book a tour of the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. The concierge at our hotel suggested MP Tours where we would have a reserved entrance and a guided tour. We met our guide at the Ticket Station outside the Vatican on 19th February 2024 at 11.30 am. We do not know our guide’s name but she was superb in every respect. She was able to give historical facts and details but also to convey stories making the history come alive. Three hours vanished as we were enthralled by every thing we saw and experienced. The name of the group was ts. I really recommend this tour to you. It was not inexpensive at €178 for us both but it was worth every penny. We will never forget our experience.

There was no tour. It was booked for a day on the guide’s schedule but the Vatican was closed. It was the biggest disappointment in our trip. My son will probably never get a chance to see it again.
