Verken het platteland van Italië en ontdek oude Romeinse ruïnes op deze 4- of 6-uur durende tour langs de Oude Appische Weg, Catacomben en Romeinse Aquaducten per kwaliteitsfiets of E-Bike. Fiets over de oude Appische weg met je Gids, bewonder Romeinse ruïnes zoals de Aureliaanse muren, het Circus van Maxentius en het graf van Caecilia Metella. Duik diep in de 2e-eeuwse San Callisto of San Sebastiano catacomben (alleen in de 6 uur durende versie van de tour) om meer te weten te komen over de Romeinse graftradities en geniet van persoonlijke aandacht van uw Gids tijdens deze tour met kleine groep, beperkt tot 10 personen. Deze tour is er in twee varianten : een kortere versie van 4 uur en een langere versie van 6 uur. De twee varianten zijn identiek in route maar verschillen in hun inclusies. Bewonder de imposante Porta di San Sebastiano, een poort in de 3e-eeuwse verdedigingsmuren van Rome.
Rijden op de "Regina Viarum", de koningin van de wegen - een oude snelweg gebouwd in de 4e eeuw voor Christus, uitgestrekt tussen Rome en Brindisi (in zijn oorspronkelijke vorm, ongeveer 538 km lang!)
In de 4 uur durende tour, een korte pauze om de massale ondergrondse begrafenis te overwegen, rustplaats voor een half miljoen zielen. Let op : op woensdag is deze stop niet inbegrepen in de 4 uur durende tour. In de 6 uur durende tour, een 45 minuten durende rondleiding door deze 2e-eeuwse catacomben, in al hun complexiteit en mysterie! Opmerking : Op woensdag bezoekt de 6 uur durende tour de Catacomben van San Sebastiano (in plaats van die van San Callixtus).
Stop bij de monumentale ruïnes van deze keizerlijke villa en het aangrenzende Circus (een eigen wagenrenbaan), daterend uit het begin van de 4e eeuw na Christus.
Het grootste mausoleum ooit gebouwd op de oude Appian Way - gewijd aan een jonge edelvrouw uit de 1e eeuw na Christus.
Wees getuige van de uitgestrekte overblijfselen van deze 2e-eeuwse villa, die de afgunst van keizer Commodus opriep (stop voor dit hoogtepunt alleen inbegrepen in de in de 6 uur durende tour).
Een groot park doorkruist met de bogen van verschillende oude aquaducten die Rome van water voorzien.

Belangrijke informatie
- Opties voor openbaar vervoer zijn in de buurt aanwezig
- Er zijn speciale kinderzitjes beschikbaar
- Niet aanbevolen voor zwangere reizigers
- Reizigers moeten ten minste een gemiddelde conditie hebben
- Houd er rekening mee dat ongeveer 40% van de route van deze tour plaatsvindt in de stad. We rijden zorgvuldig gekozen stadsstraten, maar wat verkeer is onvermijdelijk om het Ancient Appian Way Park te verbinden met het Aquaducts Park. Op de overige 60% van de route (rijden in de parken) komen we geen verkeer tegen.
- U zult een gebied van ongeveer 17 mijl (27km) bestrijken, waarvan 60% off-road plaatsvindt. De moeilijkheidsgraad van deze tocht is middelmatig (moeilijk met een kinderzitje of kinderverlenging op de fiets gemonteerd).
- Kinderbeleid : (1) Kinderen jonger dan 1 jaar mogen niet deelnemen om veiligheidsredenen. (2) Baby's van 1 - 4 jaar die reizen op een kinderzitje (met een laadvermogen tot 22 kg) komen gratis mee op de tour. (3) Voor kinderen van 5 - 8 jaar is een kinderverlenging (kinderstreamliner) voorzien. (4) Kinderen van 9 jaar en ouder kunnen autonoom rijden op een fiets of e-bike van het juiste formaat.
- Minimaal 4 deelnemers geldt (totaal aantal deelnemers op tour). Er is een mogelijkheid tot annulering na bevestiging als er 3 of minder passagiers op de tour zijn. In het geval dat dit gebeurt, wordt u een alternatief voor uw tour of volledige terugbetaling aangeboden.
- Op woensdag is de route voorzien van een afwijking, waardoor de tour een half uur langer kan duren (4,5 uur in plaats van 4 uur en 6,5 uur in plaats van 6 uur). De tour kan ook in de periode tussen half januari en half februari een half uur langer duren.
- Op Paaszondag (28 maart 2027) zijn de Catacomben gesloten (daarom zal de 6 uur durende tour niet plaatsvinden)
- Deze tour is exclusief eten of drinken; de route biedt echter een paar mogelijkheden om wat eten of drinken te kopen (die tijdens een geschikte pauze kunnen worden geconsumeerd).
- Zijn de tours veilig? Het antwoord is : Absoluut! De tours volgen zorgvuldig geplande routes die beperkt toegankelijk zijn voor verkeer, en sommige hebben helemaal geen verkeer, wat betekent dat u in staat bent om te genieten van uw rit door de stad in totale ontspanning en veiligheid en u zich geen zorgen hoeft te maken over het verkeer
- We eisen dat alle klanten een helm dragen tijdens de tour (gratis verstrekt).
- Onze fietsuitrusting heeft een gewichtsbeperking van 300 lbs (136 kg)

This tour was literally our favorite part of our stop in Rome - we are still talking about it over a week later! It was so nice to get out of the chaotic city and into the countryside for a day and see a different side of Roman history. Our tour guide Merhab (I'm sorry, I probably spelled that wrong) was great, and we only had 6 people total on our tour so we really got to know each other throughout the day! There are lots of stops, so you are never riding for more than 10-15 minutes at a time, and each stop is beautiful. We especially loved riding around the old aqueducts as the sun was beginning to set. The cool catacombs were a nice break, and it was nice to have the breeze on our faces to take the edge off the heat. We will remember this tour for years to come.
This is such a great way to get out of the busy city. I was worried that it would be a little too hot considering the summer weather. But I think it was better than being on the city streets. Our guide, Tommaso, was fabulous. He was full of information and very friendly. And despite riding on some city streets, he made sure we were quite safe.

We did a eBike tour along the Appian Way with TopBike Rental in mid July. Our guide Icaro was fantastic. He was a very safe guide who was enthusiastic with sharing information. The bikes were very comfortable and we had no concerns with safety throughout. Whilst it was hot, we had frequent stops for gelato, nasoni visits. The Appian was very interesting including the amazing catacombs and aquaduct park. It was one of the highlights of our holiday for our 15 year old son. Thanks Icaro!

I'm a fairly confident mountain biker but had never ridden an e-bike before. These things are great for touring - they take all the work out of pedaling and allow you to enjoy the scenery while also catching speed when possible. We did this tour when it was 100' F so the pedal assist was critical. The tour itself was very fun and interesting. Anna was our guide and really made the day fun and interesting. In addition to the history she also gave very helpful information about upcoming hills, turns, and safety as we went. She was also very patient with our thrill-seeking boys. I would recommend the tour to anyone who is reasonably comfortable on a bike, and ask for Anna.

What a great way to see many of the attractions of Rome. The history of the area is immense. Despite the high heat for the time of year, the power-assisted bikes helped keep you moving so it didn't feel as hot. Our guide was excellent, friendly, and very knowledgeable of all the sites we saw. It also helped that we were a relatively small group size. The only way I could see for improving the tour was if they were to add a radio communication to all of the riders so the guide could pass on his wealth of knowledge for all the areas we didn't get a chance to stop at. I highly recommend this tour.
Wonderful views so nice to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city and on a beautiful bike ride
This was really the most fun experience in Rome. You will discover the city in a different way and cycle in the countryside for a large part, so you will not be bothered by the traffic. The groups are small and the guide will guide you safely through the city and enthusiastically tell you about the sights. We did the trip with our children, they could keep up and loved it.

This was our favorite excursion while in Rome. We had a small group with only another couple which made navigating easy and simple. Our guide was excellent and not only made the trip fun but had lots of historical and interesting facts. We chose the 6 hour trip that included a hour long guided tour of the catacombs. This was also cool experience and nice way to get out of the heat.
