Laat de stad achter je en ontdek een van Thailands meest emotionele en ontzagwekkende regio's tijdens deze 2-daagse ontsnapping naar Kanchanaburi. Reis van Bangkok naar de historische River Kwai, waar oorlogsverhalen junglesereniteit ontmoeten. Stap terug in de tijd op iconische locaties uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog, waaronder Bridge over River Kwai en Death Railway. Bezoek Thailand-Birma Railway Centre voor inzicht in de barre omstandigheden die krijgsgevangenen hebben doorstaan tijdens de bouw. Dwaal rond op War Cemetery en neem stilte en plechtigheid in je op. Neem dan de longtailboot diep de jungle in waar uw overnachting wacht : drijvend bamboevlot zachtjes zwaaiend op de rivier. Zonder elektriciteit, Wi-Fi, of afleiding, Jungle Rafts bieden off-the-grid eco-retraite. Geniet van traditionele Mon culturele prestaties in de avond. De volgende dag bezoekt u Mon tribal village en maakt u een korte junglewandeling. Berijd de beruchte spoorweg door dramatische kliffen en beboste landschappen, waaronder een houten viaduct dat hoog op een klif hangt. Avontuur omvat vervoer, gids, maaltijden en overnachting.

- Geschikt voor alle condities
- Deze tour wordt zowel op privébasis als op gezamenlijke / Seat-In-Coach-basis uitgevoerd. Gezamenlijke rondleidingen worden alleen uitgevoerd met een Engelssprekende gids.
- Gasten worden verzocht om niet meer dan één koffer en één stuk handbagage per persoon mee te nemen bij transfers vanwege de beschikbare bagageruimte in privéauto's.
- Transfers worden alleen uitgevoerd in de binnenstad van Bangkok en zijn beperkt tot alleen de belangrijkste hotels. Regio's buiten het centrale zakendistrict, zoals Khao San Road, Rattanakosin, Nonthaburi, Thonburi, Minburi, beide internationale luchthavens, Ratchadapisek en hoger Sukhumvit (Soi 55 en verder) zijn uitgesloten en er zijn toeslagen van toepassing.
- Indien u een gezamenlijke / Seat-In-Coach excursie heeft geboekt, kunnen wij geen nauwkeurige deelnamenummers met u communiceren, aangezien deze tot het allerlaatste moment kunnen veranderen.
- We zullen er alles aan doen om tijdens deze excursie aan eventuele dieetwensen te voldoen; het is misschien niet altijd mogelijk om uw wensen vooraf te bevestigen op basis van de keuze van lokale restaurants.
- De accommodatie die tijdens deze tour wordt gebruikt, is een eenvoudige accommodatie met basisvoorzieningen. Dit kan zijn: geen airconditioning (alleen ventilator), gebrek aan wifi en/of warm water. Door de ligging van ons overnachtingsadres en afgestemd op het concept van deze soft-adventure experience.
- Water heeft een destructief effect op elektronische apparatuur. Het is de verantwoordelijkheid van de klant om ervoor te zorgen dat elke camera, mobiele telefoon of ander apparaat op de juiste manier wordt ingepakt en beschermd tegen deze elementen. De gids kan op geen enkele manier aansprakelijk worden gesteld voor nalatigheid en / of het niet opvolgen van suggesties voor eventuele schade die hiermee samenhangt.
- Check-in en check-out tijden worden geregeld door elk individueel hotel en in het algemeen (uitzonderingen zijn beschikbaar waarvoor we niet verantwoordelijk kunnen worden gehouden), check-in tijd bij hotels zijn niet voor 14:00 uur, aangezien check-out tijden eerder zijn 12:00 uur. Er kunnen extra toeslagen van toepassing zijn wanneer klanten vroeg inchecken / laat uitchecken nodig hebben.
- Deze tour omvat het rijden over oneffen paden, oppervlakken en hobbelige off-road wegen, ongeschikt voor zwangere vrouwen, mensen met nek- en rugklachten en mensen met beperkte mobiliteit.
- We zullen altijd de moeite nemen om de exacte ophaaltijd bij reservering te bevestigen. Voor operationele problemen waarbij de exacte ophaaltijd niet van tevoren kan worden bevestigd, behouden we ons het recht voor om u de dag voor het vertrek van de tour te informeren.
- Houd er rekening mee dat ophaal- en wegbrengdiensten mogelijk niet worden bevestigd voor klanten die verblijven in privéwoningen, appartementencomplexen of andere niet-geregistreerde toeristische accommodaties. Klanten kunnen worden gevraagd om af te spreken in een nabijgelegen hotel voor ophalen en wegbrengen.
- Natuurlijke elementen van welke aard dan ook hebben een destructief effect op elektronische apparatuur. Het is de eigen verantwoordelijkheid van de klant om ervoor te zorgen dat elke camera, mobiele telefoon of ander apparaat goed is ingepakt en beschermd tegen deze elementen. Wij kunnen op geen enkele manier aansprakelijk worden gesteld voor nalatigheid en/of het niet opvolgen van suggesties voor enige schade die hiermee verband houdt.
- Zorg ervoor dat u een zonnebril, een hoed/pet en zonnebrandcrème met een hoge SPF-factor meeneemt wanneer u met ons op deze tour reist - zelfs als het bewolkt is, zijn de zonnestralen nog steeds erg krachtig.
- De bescherming van de flora en fauna van het land is van enorm belang voor ons. We zullen geen activiteiten ondernemen voor gasten die niet in overeenstemming zijn met onze principes voor de bescherming van dieren, dieren in het wild en het milieu.
- Het is de verantwoordelijkheid van de klant om ons de juiste hotelinformatie te verstrekken, indien ophaal- en wegbrengdiensten in het pakket zijn inbegrepen. Eventuele wijzigingen in accommodatie buiten 24 uur zullen dienovereenkomstig worden behandeld: wijzigingen binnen 24 uur kunnen op aanvraag zijn.
- In het geval van no-show of verandering van accommodatie zonder voorafgaande toestemming en bevestiging van ons binnen 24 uur kunnen de toepasselijke annuleringskosten in rekening worden gebracht zoals beschreven in de algemene voorwaarden.

Honestly, I booked this tour to stay on the river rafts. But once we got to the museum, I found the history fascinating. My favorite historial site - Hell Fire pass. The Jungle River Raft Hotel was everything I hoped for - unique, unpretensous and calm. Loved the hammock on the back porch that was in deep shade and the way the raft gently rocked when boats went by. And a shout out to the Mon people that work at the hotel, especially Sam, my guide. I felt well cared for. A fabulous experience! Wish I could have stayed longer.

Everything was well organised, and the guide even rang my hotel and told them to organise a breakfast box for me as early morning start. You are kept moving through the activities and always fed and watered and it was just very easy as everything was taken care of. The hotel was amazing, make sure you take your bathers so you can jump in to the river and ride the current. Also, no electricity in the room which is a nice change, but I would recommend taking a headlamp, as they give you a torch but the headlamp so much easier. The hotel staff, the Mon people are so warm and friendly and were great hosts. I actually enjoyed the train journey a lot more than I thought I was going to. I did one night and was happy with that, but seemed most people stayed for two. I think both would be fine, and don't hesitate if you just want to do one. I came back to Bangkok happy.

The starting tour was very interesting and informative, especially with the tour guide within the coach. After we got transferred to a new host/tour guide, Pat. He is such a energetic, funny person. I would recommend to go as that is just a part of the experience. In addition the rafts were such a nice change of pace from Bangkok.

Please note that there is no electricity in the room. It's very dark in the room. The available lights give low light. Location and decor of the resort is beautiful. Also swimming in the river is a great experience. We are 2 days guided by Pad, who is in the resort jack of all trades. Besides being a guide, he is also a Moon dancer and waitressed in the restaurant. He is extremely enthusiastic and knows a lot about Thai and Moon culture. He himself lives in the adjacent Moon village.

As mentioned in the tour details prior to booking, the overnight stay at River Kwai follows a unique eco-floating concept without electricity in the rooms. That said, the rooms are fully equipped with comfortable beds, mosquito nets, a private bathroom and traditional oil lamps that create a warm and atmospheric setting in the evening. My partner and I booked the two days/one night options as part of 2 weeks in Thailand and we are so glad we did! Everything about this experience was absolutely phenomenal. Collection from our hotel was simple, communication from the tour operator via WhatsApp was consistent and helpful and the trip itself was just the right amount of activity and relaxation. There were 6 of us on the tour and it was lovely getting to know each other over delicious meals during the trip. We felt like enough time was given for each part of the tour for us to take something valuable away from it. Transport from and back to Bangkok was seamless and was with a variety of modes - from comfortable air conditioned minibus to the museum and River Kwai bridge, to the long boat that took us to our amazing jungle raft. The accommodation was utterly unique (be prepared for no electricity or warm shower). The room was simply beautiful, clean and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed the welcoming staff, particularly Pat, who was enthusiastic, helpful and passionate about sharing so much information about the area, the Mon people and their culture and experiences through traditional entertainment in the evening and visiting the village the next morning. We thoroughly recommend this to anyone who wants to see a very cultural and beautiful part of Thailand.

This has got to be the most incredible experience with local people of any place I’ve ever had, the mon people are amazing and their culture should be preserved and shared because it is wonderful. I was so sad to learn the history of the POW in Thailand and Myanmar and learning about the hellfire pass history. Wow what a tragedy. This story will forever live on. Fantastic tour, with adequate time at each of the stops to take in the atmosphere of a terrible time on history. Highlight was absolutely staying in the floating hotel and floating down the river surrounded by nature. Cultural show and tour of the local village was well presented by Bligh, our fabulous tour guide. feeding Wendy the elephant was an added experience. Would totally recommend this tour.
