Reisroute
Vanaf de pier (of uw geselecteerde startpunt) rijden we naar de middeleeuwse stad (werelderfgoed) waar u uw foto's kunt maken van buiten de belangrijkste poorten. A) Volgens een nieuw verkeersreglement komen er geen auto's de oude stad binnen, alleen voetgangers. We kunnen de tour later beëindigen bij een poort van de oude stad, zodat u deze op eigen gelegenheid kunt bezoeken en terug kunt lopen naar het schip. Van de middeleeuwse stad naar de cruisehaven is het 5 minuten lopen. Zo bespaart u tijd en geld, aangezien u de chauffeur niet hoeft te betalen (wachttijd) B) Geen stress, onze deskundige chauffeurs kunnen u laten zien hoe u via de oude stad terug naar het schip kunt lopen (praat gewoon met uw chauffeur)
We gaan verder vanuit de oude stad naar de oude haven (Mandraki), waar volgens de traditie ooit de Kolossus van Rhodos stond - een van de zeven wonderen van de antieke wereld.
Dicht bij de ingang van de oude haven is de "kerk van de aankondiging van de Maagd Maria". De kerk is gestileerd als een 3-gangen gotische basiliek met een houten dak., En herbergt verbazingwekkende gotische muurschilderingen van Fotis Kontoglou en indrukwekkende kroonluchters. Vandaag is het de kathedraal van de stad
Het strand van Elli ligt tussen de haven van Mandraki en het aquarium, in het noordelijke uiteinde van de stad. Is het strand van Rhodos-stad een van de meest kosmopolitische stranden.
We rijden naar Monte Smith Hill (Akropolis van Rhodos-stad) onderweg zie je de noordpunt van het eiland waar de Middellandse Zee en de Egeïsche Zee samenkomen. Zodra we de Akropolis bereiken (met de auto geen klim) stoppen we bij een uitkijkpunt voor een 360 panoramisch uitzicht over de stad Rhodos en zowel de oost- als de westkust - Scenic. We gaan verder voor foto's van een afstand van de tempel van Apollo en het oude stadion.
Net dicht bij Anthony Quinn Bay. Super plek om te zwemmen en snorkelen. Ligstoelen en strandfaciliteiten - schilderachtig
Na het beëindigen van de Hoogtepunten van Rhodos stad rijden we 32 mijl (50km) Zuidoosten van het eiland naar Lindos - Onderweg bezoek je de Anthony Quinn Bay - Scenic BELANGRIJKE OPMERKING: Op zeer drukke dagen kan Anthony Quinn Bay extreem druk worden, waardoor het moeilijk of zelfs onmogelijk is voor voertuigen om het gebied in of uit te rijden vanwege het hoge aantal geparkeerde auto's. Om te voorkomen dat we kostbare tourtijd verliezen, kunnen we het bezoek aan Anthony Quinn Bay vervangen door een korte fotostop (op de terugweg) bij Kallithea Viewpoint (let op: we gaan Kallithea Springs niet in). Deze aanpassing stelt ons in staat om de algehele kwaliteit en het schema van de tour te behouden, terwijl we toch een prachtige schilderachtige stop bieden.
Onderweg kun je een optionele korte stop kiezen in een pottenbakkerij waar het traditionele aardewerk van Rhodos wordt gemaakt. Je kunt de prachtige kunstwerken zien en de pottenbakker aan zijn wiel zien werken. Je kunt zelfs het mysterie van de beker van Pythagoras leren!
Op weg naar Lindos stoppen we bij een uitkijkpunt voor een panoramisch beeld vanaf een afstand van Lindos Beach. Prachtig wit zand, vlakke kalme zeeën en geweldige strandzijde. Het strand wordt over het hoofd gezien door de prachtige Akropolis. Vanaf hetzelfde punt kunt u panoramische foto's maken van het Witte Dorp en de Akropolis van Lindos
We rijden het dorp in op het centrale plein, zodat u: Optie A) Om door de steegjes van Lindos te lopen en de Akropolis te beklimmen Optie B) Verken gewoon het witte dorp, loop door de steegjes van Lindos (beklim niet 292 treden naar de akropolis) Uw chauffeur kan u de akropolis vanuit uitkijkpunten laten zien en u krijgt uw foto's van een afstand. Zo sla je de drukte over, bespaar je tijd en heb je meer tijd om het Witte Dorp te verkennen Je hebt een uur te besteden in Lindos (dorp en Acropolis) Je kunt de tour verlengen als je wilt (of neem contact met ons op tijdens het boeken, zodat we de tour kunnen aanpassen aan je wensen) de tour is 100% flexibel
Loop door Lindos Village en beklim de vele trappen en bergopwaartse paden naar de top van de Akropolis om de prachtige overblijfselen van vroegere beschavingen te zien en te genieten van het 360 panoramische uitzicht. Je hebt 35 minuten voor de Akropolis. De totale tijd in Lindos is één uur van 1:10. Mocht u meer tijd nodig hebben, laat het ons dan weten, zodat we de tour kunnen aanpassen. (Je kunt de klim naar de Akropolis overslaan) LINDOS ACROPOLIS E-TICKET-SYSTEEM Bij Lindos Acropolis is de toegang beperkt tot specifieke tijdsloten die vallen onder het e-ticketsysteem. Normaal gesproken bereiken bezoekers het dorp Lindos ongeveer 2,5 uur nadat de tour begint, met een extra klim van 15 minuten naar de Akropolis. U kunt van tevoren online kopen, of een paar uur vóór uw bezoek, of zodra u in het dorp Lindos bent voordat u naar de Akropolis klimt De tickets kunnen niet worden gerestitueerd
Op de terugweg gaat u verder naar het zuiden van Lindos, naar St. Paul's Bay, waar de apostel in het jaar 51 AD is geland om het christendom aan de Rhodians te prediken. Vanaf dit punt kunt u ook de grot bekijken waar de film "The Guns of Navarone" werd gefilmd - landschappelijk
We gaan terug naar Rhodos-stad en de laatste 14 km / 8 mijl rijden we via de kustweg van het prachtige strand van Faliraki. Faliraki is alleen geopend tijdens het zomerseizoen, het enige doel is om zijn bezoekers een vakantie te bieden die ze niet zullen vergeten. Het strand bestaat voornamelijk uit zand en het water is kristalhelder.
We vervolgen onze weg langs de oostkust en passeren Kallithea Spa. In deze natuurlijk aangelegde omgeving werd de film "Escape to Athena" met Telly Savalas en Roger Moore gefilmd. Ook enkele scènes uit de film "The Guns of Navarone" zijn hier opgenomen. Terug naar de oude stad van Rhodos voor zelfstandig browsen, of naar het schip (of naar uw hotel). De middeleeuwse stad ligt op 10 minuten lopen van de cruisehaven

Laat ons weten wanneer u uw tour wilt beginnen A) RHODES CRUISE HAVEN: We zien je aan de kade, net buiten je schip met een bord op het voertuig met je naam. Meestal naast de tourbussen van uw cruisemaatschappij. We hebben een vergunning om in de haven te komen. Rhodos is een dokhaven (Alle passagiers stappen direct aan de pier uit, geen tenderboten of kabelbanen) dus het is gemakkelijk om van boord te gaan. B) HOTEL: We halen op bij elk hotel in Rhodos Town (ons hoofdkantoor). Aan de oostkust van het eiland pikken we op tot Kolymbia (25km van Rhodos stad). Aan de westkust van het eiland tot aan het Paradisi Village (14km / 8,6 mijl van Rhodos stad).

We had a good time with George exploring Rhodes. There were a couple of unfortunate things though. We suggested to him that we should head out to Lindos first and then explore the city afterwards in order to stay ahead of the crowds at the Acropolis, but he decided to go forward as planned. As a result, we ended up getting stuck in traffic a couple of times and by the time we arrived at Lindos, the crowds were already there and it took an hour to get into the site. After visiting the site, George seemed to be rushing to drop us off so he could pick up another party at the airport. He did make an excellent suggestion for lunch at Mama Sofia. Best food we had had up to that point in Greece.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We would, however, like to clarify a few points, as we believe there may have been some misunderstanding. A) Our tours are always 100% flexible and customizable. At no point during the tour (or before the tour) was there a request to drive directly to Lindos first. Had this been requested, George would have happily adjusted the itinerary accordingly. B) Regarding the crowds in Lindos, your cruise ship was actually the second ship arriving that morning. A German cruise ship had already docked at 7:30 AM, while your ship arrived at 8:30 AM and the tour began at 9:00 AM. This means that Lindos was already busy before your arrival, even if we had driven there directly. C) Additionally, the weather on the day of your visit was cloudy, which led many tourists staying in hotels across the island to visit popular sightseeing locations such as Lindos instead of spending time at the beach. Unfortunately, this created heavier traffic and larger crowds than usual around the island’s highlights. D) We would also like to reassure you that George was never rushing to return you to the ship. We intentionally never schedule another service immediately after our tours, specifically to allow flexibility in case guests wish to extend their experience or make additional stops during the day. Nicolas was very communicative while we were setting up the customized private tour. He was even there at the ship and personally introduced us to our driver Cristo. Cristo was very good and paitent with us as we changed things around a bit. THen we asked him if he knew a great restaurant to have late lunch and we went to a wonderful spot on the water it was great and authentic! On time, patient, very knowledgable and accomodating! Our tour of Rhodes with our tour guide George was fantastic. He picked us up at the pier in his very nice van and away we went. He was very knowledgeable of the history of the country and let us set the pace of how long we wanted to spend at each spot and he spoke excellent English. George was very polite and very easy to talk to and ask questions about his country. We highly recommend this tour.

Our guide, Michael, was outstanding! He was waiting for us right off the ship in a beautiful sedan. He gave us a great overview of Rhodes, and its rich history. We had a wonderful ride to Lindos with a quick bathroom stop and some shopping at a local pottery store. I can’t say enough about the town of Lindos. We were lucky that there were hardly any other tourists. We had a wonderful lunch and walked around. I highly recommend taking the time for a visit.

Our tour guide did his best and we got to see the historical sites, but we had bad timing as it was winter and on a Sunday. Rhodes is apparently seasonal and not a Sunday thing. Most of the shops and restaurants were closed. (The few that were open were making a killing.) The journey to the acropolis on the far side of the island was worth it. I had the best baklava ever in Rhodes old town.

We had an amazing experience on our five-hour private tour of Rhodes thanks to our guide and driver, Michael. The entire process, starting with the booking, was excellent. Dealing with Nicholas was a pleasure—he was extremely responsive to my emails and made the process very easy. A huge plus was the pickup: our car was literally waiting right outside the ship, directly next to the gangway, which made us feel like VIPs and started the day perfectly. Michael truly made the tour exceptional. He was extremely knowledgeable and shared fascinating details about life on Rhodes. His fantastic sense of humor kept our family entertained and laughing throughout the entire five hours. Even though we opted not to climb the 292 steps to the Lindos Acropolis, Michael made sure we still get photos of it. He also showed us a couple of truly gorgeous bays and panoramic views. We also had time to walk around Lindos village. We were dropped off at Old Town Rhodes after the tour which gave us ample time to shop around Old Town. Having taken many private tours globally, we were very impressed. Even though Michael served as a “one man team” (both guide and driver), he is simply one of the best we've encountered. Gianni was an excellent tour guide. He provided the history of Greece/Rhodes, we went to the Acropolis of Lindos, Acropolis of Rhodes, beautiful beaches including Anthony Quinn Bay. We saw so much in a very short amount of time due to cruise ship time limits.

We had a wonderful day riding in comfort and seeing beautiful Lindos and Rhodes. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the history and attentive to our needs.
