Informatieve en grappige wandeltocht door Reykjavik in een kleine groep. Beroemde bezienswaardigheden worden bezocht, de geschiedenis van de stad wordt tot leven gebracht en je maakt kennis met de lokale cultuur. De tour begint op het hoogste punt van de stad, is toegankelijk voor rolstoelgebruikers en gaat bergafwaarts, ook ideaal voor kinderen. De kleine omvang van de groep maakt het flexibel voor stops binnenshuis bij koud weer en de lange tour maakt het ontspannen alsof je met een nieuwe IJslandse vriend bent. Houd er rekening mee dat we de route soms wijzigen vanwege het weer.

We beginnen de tour voor de beroemde kerk Hallgrímskirkja, ontworpen door Guðjón Samúelsson.
De beroemde Regenboogstraat. We passeren verschillende interessante galerijen en winkels. Geweldig voor foto's!
Nationaal Theater van IJsland, ontworpen door Guðjón Samúelsson.
De beroemde Viking Ingolfur Arnarson. We zullen leren over de eerste kolonisten van IJsland.
Harpa Concert Hall, prachtig ontwerp van Ólafur Elíasson, half Deens, half IJslands architect. Geweldig voor foto's! Helaas verandert de route soms, dus we kunnen geen stop bij Harpa beloven, maar de tour eindigt op loopafstand van Harpa.

Prachtig gebouw aan het meer. Perfect voor foto's en binnenin vind je een grote kaart van IJsland! Bij koud weer stoppen we binnen in het stadhuis.

Mo/Moe/Meaux was an amazing tour guide! The thing I liked the best was that we didn't just hit all the touristy things, he showed us the more interesting things that would wouldn't otherwise know. He also dropped language and naming knowledge on us that I found really cool. The whole tour was about 2 hours which was perfect to hit the entire loop and end up very close to where you started. I think there was about 10-15 of us total so the size of the tour was perfect to hear the guide as well as to navigate around the town without having to stop traffic. Would highly recommend!!
Wonderful tour! Did this my first day of a solo iceland trip and it was a perfect way to learn about the city. We explored places I otherwise wouldn’t have thought to go to, and my guide Thomas (who was an amazing local!!) gave great history facts about the city/country. Thomas was friendly, well-spoken, funny, and charismatic. I definitely recommend this tour!! It’s free, what’s more to love!

Some guides can be more animated and humprous than others. But my feeling is that personalities aside, its a great way to get familiar with the city and underdtand what you are actually looking at.
Great introduction to Reykjavik. We booked this during our 6 hr layover and it was perfect to see the highlights of town in a quick manner. The walk was mostldown hill and ended 20 min. Walk from the main bus terminalso we just walked back to it. Thor was very nice, informative and entertaining. Highly recommend.
A really great tour to kick off our trip in Iceland! We loved hearing more about the history and culture from our guide. Also a nice way to explore the city!
