Our private tour of the Rijksmuseum with Tijs was outstanding. He masterfully combined Dutch history with the artwork we explored, making everything we saw both engaging and meaningful. His depth of knowledge was impressive, and the 2.5 hours flew by as he guided us seamlessly through the museum. Tijs used his iPad to enhance the tour with historical images, maps, and background context that brought the art and history to life. His storytelling and ability to connect everything together gave us a much deeper appreciation for what we were seeing. We highly recommend this tour!

My guide Edgar Foley led the tour of the Rijksmuseum & Van Gogh Museum. It was a highlight of my trip to Amsterdam! He was professional, knowledgeable & patient. I’m an art aficionado & I learned so many new things about Rembrandt, Van Gogh & Amsterdam. The time flew by during this 4 hour private tour. He took me to view the high points of both museums —- which I never could have navigated on my own. Edgar also had studied architecture & history, so he was able to integrate these. We made this tour as we prefered to get a more real-live impression of Rembrandt than just looking at his paintings in the Rijksmuseum. And Tijs fullfilled this expectation absolutely. Even if the city looks pretty different today and not all buildings are existing anymore his storytelling makes the 17th century getting back to life before your eyes. He shares a lot of knowledge and you recognize that he is really into his topic and loves to share that. So if you want to get to know Amsterdam from a different view, this is your tour.

This was an amazing walking tour of Rembrandt’s steps, where he lived, about his work, the good and bad, etc. It was extremely informative and our guide was Tijs who did an outstanding job. He was funny, and professional, and it was obvious he is passionate about history. Definitely worth doing!
