Uw avontuur begint met het ophalen bij uw hotel in Cusco om ongeveer 4:30 uur. Reis naar de zuidelijke hooglanden, langs traditionele dorpen, landbouwgrond, valleien en prachtige berglandschappen onderweg.

Stop na ongeveer twee uur bij een lokaal restaurant voor een warm ontbijt. Geniet van koffie of cocathee, gebruik de toiletten en bereid je voor op de wandeling die voor je ligt.
Ga dan verder naar de trailhead bij Rainbow Mountain. Voordat u aan de wandeling begint, zal uw Gids de route uitleggen, de belangrijkste veiligheidsaanbevelingen beoordelen en nuttig advies geven voor wandelen op grote hoogte.

De wandeling naar Vinicunca duurt meestal 1,5 tot 2 uur, afhankelijk van je tempo, het weer en hoe je lichaam reageert op de hoogte. Het pad begint met een geleidelijke klim voordat het steiler wordt nabij de top. Uw Gids zal een comfortabel tempo bepalen en stoppen wanneer dat nodig is.
Onderweg wandel je door weidse Andeslandschappen met uitzicht op de Ausangate regio. U kunt ook lokale herders, lama's en alpaca's zien. Uw Gids zal verhalen delen over het gebied, de gemeenschappen en de natuurlijke kenmerken.
Neem bij het uitkijkpunt Rainbow Mountain de tijd om uit te rusten, gedenkwaardige foto's te maken en de kleurrijke hellingen van Vinicunca te bewonderen. Uw Gids zal uitleggen hoe verschillende mineralen in de bodem en het gesteente de opmerkelijke kleuren van de berg hebben gecreëerd.

Vanaf Rainbow Mountain gaat u verder richting Red Valley, een spectaculair landschap van dieprode heuvels en wijds open uitzicht. Dit gebied is meestal rustiger dan het belangrijkste uitzichtpunt, zodat u kunt genieten van het landschap in een rustigere omgeving.
Na het verkennen van Red Valley volgt u het pad terug naar het startpunt terwijl u geniet van de omliggende bergen en hoog-Andes landschappen.

Great day with Alejandro and Bernardino.

Wonderful experience.
It was an incredible experience, our guide Romario was very attentive and kind and gave us the necessary time to enjoy and take photos. The only thing that displeased me a little was that the driver, Mr. Julio, got upset because of "us being late" and drove very fast, which made me nervous.

Awesome, excellent, recommended experience!
We went with Romario, he was an excellent guide, very patient and the experience was awesome! We took our time, we walked slowly and we never rushed which is exactly what we wanted.
Also the ride on the bus was smooth and quick, Julio is such an excellent driver.
Finally, the meals cooked by Ismael were delicious and tasty. Such a great and fulfilling experience!

Unforgettable Tour
The weather was perfect for our tour. Pickup was quite early to account for Cusco traffic, but our guide Romario made it worthwhile — he was patient with our many breaks and looked after us with genuine compassion throughout.

Recommended experience
Everything was perfect, pickup at the hotel and then starting the activity; it was quite difficult to complete, but with the patience and energy that our guide Romario transmitted to us, everything went as it should. He also showed us alternative paths that not many people knew about so we could get our fantastic photos and so the path wouldn't feel so heavy, always asking us and with the group's consensus. Thank you very much for the experience.

Great Experience and Guide for Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley with picnic
After our Inca Trail Trek was cancelled because of closure of trail because of weather, we booked a few other shorter excursions with Trexperience including this one day Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Tour. We did the option with picnic breakfast and lunch.
Our guide Romario was incredible -- the best Trexperience guide of the three we had during our different excursions! He was friendly, patient, spoke excellent English and had a real knack for sharing interesting tidbits of culture and knowledge along the way. Having him as our guide really enhanced our whole experience!
It was an early morning pick-up with a 2.5 hour drive to our picnic site up in the mountains, We had a delicious breakfast before continuing to the trail-head. The hike itself, challenging because of the altitude, was incredible with amazing views both along the way, but especially at the top. There were many people at the summit of Vinicunca (Rainbow Mtn.) and you have to wait in a bit of a line to get your turn at a photo with no other people in it. Then we continued a bit further to the Red Valley which honestly was even more beautiful (particularly because it was much less crowded)! The vistas were stunning! And plenty of wild alpaca along the way too!
Finally, we hiked back and then had another delicious meal waiting for us before the drive back to Cusco.
I would whole-heartedly recommend this experience! Do yourself a favor and request Romario -- he was the best!
