Did a Village tour with André and Shevon. They were amazing and so friendly. It was possible to try the real vibe of Jamaica and rastafari life. The Woodpecker shop has great carving pieces of art. A must do. Perfect!

My Rasta Safari experience was one of the highlights of my 14-day trip to Jamaica. What made this tour stand out wasn't just the UTV adventure, the natural springs, or the beautiful countryside—it was the personalized service, the people I met, and the opportunity to experience a side of Jamaica that felt far removed from the typical resort experience. My day started with Eran, my driver, picking me up from my apartment in the Paradise area of Montego Bay. He arrived about 20 minutes early for the scheduled 8:00 a.m. pickup, which I appreciated. Since I was the only person on the tour that day, I had a private and personalized experience from the very beginning. During the drive from Montego Bay into the countryside, Eran was informative and engaging. As we traveled through St. James, Hanover, and Westmoreland parishes, he explained the names and history of the different villages we passed through and pointed out various developments and construction projects around Montego Bay, including the expressway bypass. He also spoke openly about the effects of Hurricane Melissa and how some communities were still recovering. Hearing about the challenges facing people in rural Jamaica gave me a perspective that I would not have gotten from staying inside the tourist areas. The drive itself became part of the tour. Rather than simply transporting me from one location to another, Eran helped me understand more about the communities and countryside we were passing through. When I arrived at Rasta Safari, I was greeted by a group of Rastamen who introduced themselves and welcomed me with a rum energy drink before I met my tour guide, Carlos. Because I was the only guest, he was able to provide a very personalized experience. He took the time to interact with me, answer questions, and make sure I was enjoying myself. One of the small moments that stood out was when he volunteered to take my picture on the bridge over the creek. Later, while we were walking, he peeled a fresh mango and gave it to me. Those gestures may seem small, but they made the experience feel genuine and personal rather than like a routine tourist excursion. The UTV portion of the tour was a lot of fun. We traveled along overland trails through the Rasta villages and surrounding countryside, giving me an opportunity to see a very different side of Jamaica. This wasn't the type of experience where you simply drive around an attraction and take a few pictures. We were actually moving through the rural landscape and getting a closer look at the communities and natural environment. One of the highlights was stopping at the natural spring. The water was incredibly fresh, cold, and refreshing. After riding through the countryside, getting into the spring was the perfect way to cool off. The natural environment was beautiful, and the experience felt much more authentic than visiting a manufactured tourist attraction. Roaring River, Blue Hole and the Natural Landscape Another interesting part of the journey was passing by Roaring River and the Blue Hole. The area is associated with Jamaica's limestone landscape and underground cave systems, which help feed the natural spring water. Seeing these natural features firsthand gave me a greater appreciation for Jamaica's geography and the relationship between the island's underground water systems, caves, rivers, and springs. For anyone interested in nature, the countryside portion of the tour is definitely worth experiencing. Meeting the Local Community One of the things I appreciated most about the tour was the opportunity to interact with people from the local community. There were opportunities to purchase handmade crafts and local food, although I personally chose not to buy anything. Instead, one of my most memorable interactions was with a young boy sitting on a bridge fishing. I asked him what he was fishing for, and he explained that there were small fish in the water that he could take home to his mother to prepare. It was only a brief conversation, but it stayed with me. It gave me a glimpse into a simpler way of life where people can make use of what is available around them. The experience made me reflect on how much we consume and how little we sometimes actually need to be happy. That personal interaction was something I could never have gotten from a typical resort vacation. Delicious Vegetarian Lunch After completing the UTV portion, I was served an all-vegetarian meal. I was told that the food was grown within the village, and the meal was delicious, wholesome, and satisfying. After spending the day learning about the community and seeing the environment where the food was produced, eating a locally grown meal made the experience feel even more connected to the land and the people. It was one of those meals that tasted better because of the experience surrounding it. Personalized Service From Carlos After lunch, Carlos walked me back toward Eran. I told them that I wasn't ready to leave yet because I wanted to sit beside the river for a while. They were completely accommodating. Carlos even took additional pictures of me around the river and surrounding area. I really appreciated that there was no pressure to rush me out. Since I was the only person on the tour, they allowed me to enjoy the experience at my own pace. That personalized attention was one of the strongest aspects of the entire tour. The Ride Back to Montego Bay Eventually, I said goodbye to Carlos and the group and made my way back to Eran. The drive back to Montego Bay was much quieter than the morning ride. After everything I had experienced, I mostly sat back and enjoyed watching the Jamaican countryside pass by. Eran continued sharing information about Jamaican culture and music, including some of Jamaica's popular artists. By the time we reached Montego Bay, I felt like I had experienced much more than just an excursion. Overall Experience I would highly recommend the Rasta Safari tour to anyone who wants to experience a different side of Jamaica. What makes this tour special is that it combines adventure, nature, culture, food, and personal interaction. The UTV ride provides the adventure. The springs and countryside provide the natural beauty. The village provides the cultural experience. And the guides make the entire experience personal. For me, however, the biggest takeaway wasn't the UTV ride or even the beautiful scenery. It was the perspective. I spent 14 days in Jamaica, and this experience gave me one of the clearest impressions of life outside the United States. Being in the countryside and interacting with the local community made me reflect on how fast-paced life can be in America. Jamaica reminded me that life doesn't always have to be about rushing, consuming, and constantly trying to accomplish the next thing. Sometimes you can simply sit beside a river. Talk to someone. Eat fresh food. Enjoy the scenery. And slow down. That was the real value of this tour for me.

The rastasafari was absolutely amazing! Kenneth was my driver and he was so kind and helpful. He told so much about Jamaican history, culture, and geography. I don’t remember the names of the ATV guides but they were also amazing. They were very down to earth, patient, and hilarious. The village was absolutely beautiful and the locals made me feel like I was right at home. Definitely a must do experience. I plan to come back whenever I come back to Jamaica ! ❤️

We had such a great time on the Rasta Safari tour! Starting with our driver to the excursion. The ATV ride was a blast, and our guide, Niko, was awesome. He was friendly, fun, and made the entire experience enjoyable. One of the stops was a beautiful river where we got to cool off with a swim. There were also a few local vendors, a jerk chicken spot, and a DJ playing music, which made for a fun atmosphere. The highlight of the tour was learning about the Rastafari culture. It was really interesting to hear about the history and way of life, and we finished the experience with a delicious homemade Rastafarian meal. If you’re looking for a tour that combines adventure, culture, and authentic local experiences, this is definitely worth it. Thanks again to Niko for making it such a memorable day!

My husband and I booked this wanting a less touristy Jamaican experience and this was AMAZING!!! You have to go into this with an open mind….. This is not a luxury, touristy, high class, uptight tour. This is REAL rural Jamaica- with real food, real local people and real island vibes. We were picked up from the hotel by our driver Kenneth. He maneuvered those streets and highways like a BOSS. Jamaican traffic and roads are no joke. There is only one road up into the hills, so be patient. Keep in mind the drive from Montego Bay is not short - but you get to see the island on the way….. and likely experience some wild Jamaican driving too!😜 Once we arrived, Shevon was our guide at RastaSafari. He was THE BEST! Told us bits and pieces of interesting facts along our ATV ride, stopped at various spots, took us to a 100% alkaline river and swimming hole with the locals (I highly recommend wearing swimsuits under your clothes since finding a place to change was a bit hard, and bring water shoes) , then the ganja farm, more exploring, and back to the starting place for a home cooked Jamaican meal of rice and peas, Jamaican cabbage, and veggie chunks - which was actually VERY good!!! Then back down to Montego Bay in the small bus where Kenneth would stop wherever the riders wanted to - food, restrooms, etc. My husband and I give this excursion a 10/10!!! Bring cash to buy small things and tip these wonderful humans!!!!

Our guides were very professional , the tour was fun and exciting and everyone was extremely hospitable. I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone going to Montego Bay, support the local economy and have a great experience.

The whole experience was fun and adventurous! The staff were very friendly and caring. They handled my 93 yr old grandmother with extreme care.

It was so much fun even though it rained it was ok still and we had fun!!!! The people were nice and the trail ride was long and worth the money.

We absolutely enjoyed this excursion. I would highly recommend if you are looking to experience the REAL Jamaica. The parish where the excursion is, is about an hour and a half drive away so be prepared for that. The driver was extremely nice and educated us on the towns and buildings we were passing. He stopped us halfway for a restroom. We then got to the parish where the excursion was and were greeted with a welcome drink. We were educated about different plants and their uses while we walked to our atvs. There are restrooms on site btw. Calloway was our tour guide for the atv rides and he was so intentional with the routes he took us. We got to see a lot of the land and so many animals. The animals were living very freely and that was something we appreciated. We then stopped near a river where we were invited to swim if we’d like. There is also food, drinks, and souvenirs for purchase there. The next stop was the cannabis farm. We were educated on the plants and their benefits. The last stop was for our homemade vegan lunch with food from the land. This experience was very grounding for us. We got to see a lot of the damage from Hurricane Melissa while also being very educated and appreciative of the land we were standing on. Bring swimwear, water shoes, towels, cash, and an open mind. We enjoyed being in the middle of the island and experiencing the locals. It will be hot so dress cool and comfortable. I would 1000% recommend this excursion.
