Laten we Ragusa, Modica en Scicli verkennen en herontdekken. De tour volgt een route met geschiedenis, kunst, geloof en cultuur. We nodigen je uit om een dag door te brengen naar het grootste laboratorium van de barokke stadsontwikkeling en zijn omgeving. Honderden kerken verspreid, indrukwekkende basilieken, half verborgen kleine kerken in drukke steegjes, gebouwen met ongewone architectonische oplossingen, portalen, verhalen over de oude adellijke families, vertegenwoordigen het kostbare erfgoed van de grootste bloei van Siciliaanse barokke kunst, waardoor deze plaatsen , hun atmosfeer en hun landschap echt uniek.

De tour begint in Ragusa Ibla met het bezoek aan het historische centrum in barokstijl. Ragusa ibla kan worden beschouwd als een echt openluchtmuseum, waar de weelde van de barok Iblee in synergie leeft met de natuur van de iblei-bergen. Hier zullen we de prachtige Sint-Joriskathedraal aan de Piazza Duomo bewonderen, de "Portale di San Giorgio", een prachtige boog in de Catalaanse gotische stijl die dateert uit de jaren 1400, de prachtige "Giardino Ibleo" en vele gebouwen in barokstijl.
We gaan verder naar Modica, waarvan het historische centrum (Modica bassa) ook in barokstijl is. De twee kathedralen, San Giorgio, die het dorp domineren vanaf de top van de heuvel en San Pietro, gelegen langs de hoofdstraat, zijn beide buitengewone voorbeelden van de Siciliaanse barok. We stoppen bij de oude chocolaterie Bonajuto om te helpen bij de uitleg van het proces om de typische lokale chocolade te maken, gemaakt volgens een eeuwenoud recept van de Azteken die door Spanjaarden naar Sicilië zijn gebracht tijdens hun overheersing. Gratis proeven van chocolade is inbegrepen!
We zullen eindigen met het bezoek van het fascinerende dorp Scicli, waar wederom de belangrijkste bouwstijl barok is. We passeren het fascinerende landschap dat rijk is aan steile kalkstenen muren, johannesbroodbomen, lage muren, kleine kerken en steengroeven, en we komen bij het zien van wat we een juweel in het hart van Sicilië zouden noemen. We beginnen de stadswandeling door het Chiafura Archeologisch Park, waar de grotten in de kalkrotsen kunnen worden uitgegraven, waar veel gezinnen nog tot het midden van de vorige eeuw leefden. Vanaf de San Bartolomeo-kerk rijden we over het centrum van de stad, rijk aan paleizen in barokstijl en kerken, waardoor Scicli onderdeel werd van het UNESCO Werelderfgoed.

My friend and I really appreciated our Ragusa, Modica & Scicli tour with Riccardo of Taxi Catania NCC . He was professional, friendly and made sure we had the time and space to explore these Sicilian towns on our full-day adventure! I highly recommend him!
Ricardo was a wonderful guide. He was very knowledgeable and easy-going. I highly recommend this tour. Modica chocolate tour needs to be scheduled ahead of time, so something to look into before going.
Roberto was incredible. So informative, flexible, and considerate. We saw so much. He stopped at numerous wonderful overlooks for photos. His knowledge of the history, geography, and customs of the area gave us insight of the area. He gave us choices of what to see and how to see them in each locale. Martino was great. We covered a lot of ground that day. He took us to a number of Fabulous places to admire great views of the area. He was happy to take pictures of us at special places which we appreciate. He was friendly informative it was a pleasure to spend the day with him.
A excellent experience. Driver was absolutely great. He was very knowledgeable and flexible. The towns visited were baroque jewels.
I booked this tour and I asked to my friend who lives in Taormina to come with me . The driver was totally ignored me whole the time and only chatting with my friend in Italian. I was totally invisible to him . I know he was a just driver but I really did not feel welcome by this driver just chatting with my friend in Italian . I was the one who is paying whole price and my friend supporsed to be my guide . At the end ,he even asked my friend if she enjoyed this tour but not to me . I appreciate him being flexible to change the route a bit . However not appropriate for treated me as invisible whole time . I am very generous tipper when it comes to tipping since I worked most of my life as customer service getting tip from my customer .so I understand how tip helps . Too bad I’ve did not get 25percent tip I prepared for him .

Anyway, the driver talked to your friend because She was Speaking italian, so easier for him to keep conversation, and he did not know Who booked and Who was invited as a friend; for the driver both of you were clients.

We spent the day with Martino of Taxi Catania. He met us promptly at the agreed upon location. He was very flexible allowing us to to totally change our itinerary to suit our needs. He was very friendly and anxious to make sure we enjoyed our day. We especially enjoyed walking , shopping and eating in Catania. I would recommend him without reservation
Our guide was a hour late because he went or was sent to the wrong port. Verified that I put the correct port on my reservation. We had a o completely miss one of the cities. While I was very happy with our time in Modica and Ragusa, would have like to make it to Sicili. Our driver spent a fair amount of time on the phone as well. The vehicle was nice and clean. Our driver was nice and courteous. When I reached out to the tour provider, the response was “well these things happen”. Not really the response I was expecting. I paid for a tour to 3 cities and got 2.
