Je adembenemende avontuur begint met een pick-up vanaf de pier en een ontspannende rit door het prachtige Costa Ricaanse platteland met een transportmiddel met airconditioning en een recent model luxe voertuig of minibus. In ons avonturencentrum krijgt u, voordat u aan uw reis begint, instructies en maakt u vervolgens een proefrit op ons speciaal ontworpen privéparcours. Vanaf hier leidt je gids je langs de junglepaden, waarbij je rivieren oversteekt die soms hobbelig zijn, onverharde paden door echt regenwoud, uitkijkpunten en 1 waterval, waar je kunt zwemmen als je wilt. Na dit geweldige avontuur gaat onze tour verder met een korte rit naar de Tarcoles-rivier, waar u tijdens een Eco-boottocht van 60 minuten kunt genieten van de overvloedige fauna van het gebied, waaronder de enorme krokodillen, meerdere watervogels, scharlaken ara's en brulapen. en andere verbazingwekkende tropische soorten. We hebben buggy's voor maximaal 6 personen en per boeking moet er 1 buggy gedeeld worden. Minimaal 2 personen per buggy.

Deze tour wordt uitgevoerd in de omgeving van Carara National Park en de Tarcolitos-rivier. Eenmaal in ons operatiecentrum wordt u ontvangen door een lokale gids die het gebruik van de Buggy zal uitleggen en de regels en veiligheidsinstructies zal geven. Buggy's zijn voor 2 of 4 passagiers en moeten door elke partij worden gedeeld. De tour omvat een reis langs kleine rivieren, plantages, regenwoud en prachtige stranden. Voor iedereen die wil zwemmen, kan een stop van 30 minuten worden gemaakt op een van de stranden.
Puntarenas is een van de belangrijkste toeristische regio's in Costa Rica. De kustlijn is vol met eilanden, inhammen, stranden en zeer mooie natuurlijke schatten, die het tot een uitstekende toeristische bestemming maken. Er is een veelvoud aan attracties rond de stranden, evenals beschermde gebieden, zowel op het land als rond de eilanden. Het centrum van het gebied bevindt zich in Puntarenas, dat fungeert als een plaats voor accommodatie, distributie, aanloophaven en excursies. De stad Puntarenas is rijk aan geschiedenis, tradities en gebruiken. Historisch gezien was het de belangrijkste haven in de Costa Ricaanse Stille Oceaan, waardoor de belangrijkste exporten plaatsvonden die de ontwikkeling van het land in de 19e eeuw en een deel van de 20e eeuw mogelijk maakten. Vanwege de ligging aan de kust was het tegen het midden van de 20e eeuw een belangrijk centrum voor de komst van immigranten. De opkomst als toeristische bestemming gaat terug tot 1940.
Geniet van een aangename boottocht met een professionele natuurgids en geniet van de rijke en overvloedige flora en fauna. Het is een leefgebied voor Amerikaanse krokodillen, terwijl de moerassen aan de monding van de rivier veel watervogels en waadvogels hebben. Onder de vele reigers en zilverreigers zijn de boatbill en de naakte-throated tijgerreiger, en andere vogels die hier te vinden zijn, zijn de dubbelgestreepte dikknie, de mangrovezanger en de Amerikaanse pygmee-ijsvogel. De totale lijst met bekende vogels overschrijdt ruim 320 soorten, inclusief de weinig bekende Guacalillo-kanalen. De vogelbiodiversiteit is aanzienlijk, met inbegrip van zeldzame vogels zoals de Agami-reiger, de Roodnek-Woodrail, Jabiru, de Geelsnavel-Cotinga en onlangs gevonden een Orinoco-gans. Het is ook de thuisbasis van Howler en White-faced Capuchin Monkeys. Minder vaak gezien zijn Silky Miereneter, Luiaards, Grinson, Jaguarundi, River Otter en Northern Tamandua
El Jardin de Orotina is een prachtig complex waar toeristen de beste souvenirs vinden om mee naar huis te nemen. Het biedt ook een uitstekend restaurant met een heerlijk buffet met typisch Costa Ricaanse maaltijden.

Ophaallocaties en -tijden
Deze tour is exclusief voor passagiers van cruiseschepen. Als u niet per cruiseschip arriveert, boek deze tour dan niet. Tour werkt alleen als we cruiseschepen in de haven hebben. Je wordt opgehaald bij de hoofdingang van de pier. Het is een zeer korte loopafstand van het cruiseschip. Eenmaal bij de ingang van de pier ziet u een Greenway Tours Guide met een bordje met uw naam erop. SPECIALE OPMERKING OVER OPHAALTIJD Al onze ophaaltijden zijn standaard ingesteld op 08:00 uur. ECHTER: Als uw schip na 08:00 uur aankomt, vindt de pick-up 30 minuten na aankomst van het schip plaats. U kunt uw tour boeken en we zullen de tijd dienovereenkomstig aanpassen aan de aankomst van uw schip. Als uw schip te laat is, zal ons personeel op u wachten tot de aanlegsteiger en u van boord laten gaan. We werken al onze tours dienovereenkomstig met de aankomst van het schip.

This was the perfect cruise experience! We got to see the rainforest, have an adventure driving through it and across streams in our buggies, and have an opportunity to swim at the waterfalls. We also enjoyed seeing the birds and Crocs at the river. One of the best parts was that our driver Luis took great care of us E2E from the cruise port ensuring that we were picked up at the right location and dropped off at the cruise port on time, which is always a worry with 3rd party tour providers. We loved the entire experience and would highly recommend it!!!

We recently did this tour. There is not much in Puntarenas. You really need to do a tour. It was a drive to a jungle hotel where we got on a “River buggy”, which was a tractor pulled trailer. It took us along a river through the jungle. Afterwards, we had drinks and fruit. Then we rode down further to the Tarcoles River to see crocodiles. We ended up seeing about 5-10. The guides were excellent spotting them. We had Josue, Luis, and Geiner as our guides. The drove all the way from San Jose to spend the day with us, a group of about 12. Afterwards, they even suggested a local restaurant close to the ship. We would definitely do again. Thanks!!!

The most memorable thing was the driver and guide getting lost to the start of the buggy tour and taking time away from our ride. WTH!!?? We had 3 groups riding in the van and all 3 had trouble locating the guide at the cruise port because she was way off to the side holding a very small sign adding to our late arrival. Buggy ride was ok just a lot of flat ground riding. Never got the water bottle and they shorted us a half hour of time. The croc ride was a joke. Saw 2 babies and a larger one. Tide was out and the prop on the boat kept hitting the bottom of the river. He had to keep raising the prop to even move a little. Didn’t think we we’re gonna make it back.
We always try to do our job in the best way, and we are sorry that you had this inconvenience today. We will try the best way to improve so that a situation of this type does not happen again. Our pick up times are listed in all vouchers as 30 minutes after ship arrival. Some times cruise ships are running late and for this reason all our customers can catch the tour without any inconvenience. Regarding the meeting point, all the instructions are listed in the confirmation and voucher and the area where we meet all our customes is really small and no way to get lost. Unfortunately if the instructions are not readed carefully, it will causa troubles. Regarding the wildlife spotting it is important to consider that we visit natural areas where the wildlife species are free in their natural habitat. Some days it is easy to see a lot but some not. It is a nature fact.
The buggy ride was dusty and wet, but fun! The guide found us monkeys to see and a sloth!🦥 saw a huge 9 foot crocodile. The main guide, Jose, was wonderful! He drove us in a nice new air conditioned van. Kept us on time and lots of water.

The ride was a fun adventure across streams, up to a great view, down to a beautiful beach, and through pastures. Our guide tried super hard to find a sloth at the beach without luck. John was great. It was a nice long, full day ride. The only downside was that we did the ride in March and it was very dry and very dusty. I would highly recommend that you rent goggles.

We had so much fun on the newer, well maintained ATVs. The scenery was gorgeous. Lots of birds and some good-sized crocodiles on the river cruise. Plus s little shopping time. Altogether a great way to spend a day ashore.
We were lucky enough to end up being the only ones on our tour. This was just after thing’s opened up after Covid. We had an amazing time and our guide was fantastic! Very informative and made our experience so much fun!! Plan on getting dirty and having the time of your life!!

We had a great time on this tour. The ATV portion was a blast. Two hours of riding in the mountains, the mud and the beach. The second part, the boat tour, was very cool too. We saw an 18' Crocodile right next to our boat.
