Punakaiki, de wereldberoemde kustweg, wordt beoordeeld als een van de top 10 kustritten ter wereld. De thuisbasis van de Pancake Rocks, waar de zee, wind en massale geologische veranderingen het landschap hebben gevormd, waardoor fascinerende gestapelde kalksteenrotsen zijn ontstaan die de zee heeft doen afbrokkelen en er gaten in hebben gevormd. Als u vanaf de centrale westkust vertrekt, reist u via de Great Coast Road, die wordt beschouwd als een van de tien belangrijkste kustritten ter wereld. Met een aantal van de beste landschappen die je te bieden hebt, heb je een camera bij de hand nodig om het uitzicht vast te leggen. Deze rit van 45 minuten brengt u naar het kleine kustplaatsje Punakaiki, waar u de beroemde afblaasgaten en natuurlijke rotsformaties van pannenkoeken kunt bewonderen. Je gids geeft je de tijd om het gebied en de plaatselijke winkels te verkennen voordat je de grot in de buurt of de Truman Track bekijkt, een korte wandeling naar een uitkijkpunt langs de kust. De blaasgaten en pannenkoekrotsen is een van Nieuw-Zeeland's must-do-activiteiten en een die je niet mag missen. Uw gids brengt u terug naar uw accommodatie of het centrale zakendistrict. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend it to others. Our guide, Linda, was wonderful and literally thought of not only everything to see to make the tour enjoyable and special, but she also had additional items on hand that we might need due to some inclement weather. 10/10.
Our guide Linda was fantastic. Very knowledgeable about everything from the history and geography of the area, to details of the trees and plants we saw along the way. Very gracious host taking care of every detail without hesitation! Views were spectacular and it was hard to capture the majesty and beauty of it all with a camera. The setting sun made for some amazing shadows and layering on the pancake rocks. The crashing waves and the thunderous pounding in the deep chasms required some vid/aud as well...if you don't believe in our creator God you will after this trip -awesome!

Linda was the best tour guide I’ve ever had! Informative and fun information from the moment you’re picked up. Multiple stops at scenic spots. Accompanies and informs the entire pancakes rocks walk. So kind and interesting. Hilarious tidbits. You also stop for free fancy canapés and drinks at a beautiful beach hotel on the deck. So fabulous! I would take this tour again just to hang out with Linda! Pickup and drop off were a dream. The blowholes only blow water if it’s rough and high tide (I think?) and didn’t happen to be blowing when we went, but in no way did that detract from our wonderful tour.
Great local guide kept us informed and entertained. Various stops at viewpoints on the way to pancake rocks, comfortable minibus, amazing afternoon tea included...would recommend.

Linda was great! Knowledgeable, friendly and funny. Also very informative about the gold/coal mining and history of Greymouth. She knew all about the flora & forna as we drove around the stunning coastline. The sun came out and she said the blowholes were at their best!! Our pics are like postcards and WE WERE THERE! Advice : DO THIS TOUR! Great fun.
