Beschrijving

Easy Ride

The bike riding was easy, just a few shallow hills. Keith our tour guide offer a lot in terms of history, culture, and animal handling. He was also extremely patient and helpful.

Thanks for the kind words! Keith definitely enjoyed the morning workout and sharing. Trumaine is genuinely curious about Pulau Ubin and Singapore. Thanks for helping the Ubin residents by purchasing their jackfruit! Take care and hope to see you again :)

Away from the skyscrapers

Pulau Ubin is a beautiful and secluded islet that is part of the City State of Singapore. You can get there by taking a bus to Changi Villagene then a motor boat from Changi Point FerryTerminal. Once on the island only your legs and rental bikes will let you explore tropical nature. There are maps on the island but it's easy to find your way around. In the village some simple restaurants offer unpretentious dishes.

Thanks for the review! Pulau Ubin is indeed away from the skyscrapers which most tourist know Singapore as. A rustic getaway amid greenery! Glad you enjoyed the island and take care!

Happy to see you bring back many photo memories, Shaimaa & Marwa! Keith was glad you all spotted the eagle(brahminy kite?) despite the wet morning. It was also fun to feel the spiky durian and massive jackfruit. Hope to see you next time! :)

A fantastic day at Pulau Ubin

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Pulau Ubin with our guide Keith, who was very knowledgeable of the area and passionate about preserving the flora and fauna of the island. Unfortunately, unknown to Keith the stop at Teck Seng’s Place was closed however Keith was able to talk about the house and living standards of the time in great detail with photos. Thank you Keith for a great bicycle tour.

Glad you enjoyed the great sweat out, Michael & Marie! Keith was a happy man as it was his first time spotting the otters at Chek Jawa. Not to mention the 'showers of blessing' going up Puaka Hill. Til next time, take care!

Great way to get away from the hustle and bustle.

We had a great morning out at Pulau Ubin. Keith our guide kept in contact with us before the tour and helped us with directions to catch the MRT and bus out to the meeting point. Keith was very knowledgeable about Pulau Ubin and Singapore. Keith made hiring the bikes a breeze and made sure we checked them out before we rode. Thanks for a great day out Keith.

Glad you all had a good time, Davin & Stuart! Keith had an easy time too with eagle eyed Stuart helping to spot so many wildlife and fruits ;) The flypast by the oriental pied hornbill was amazing! Take care and hope to see you again in Singapore.

Pretty Views, Very Rustic

I had read that this was a great place to experience life as it was in old Singapore. I expected more of a "national park" sort of experience, with some guides so that we would know where to go and what to do. (I have since learned that there are more guided activities and access to parts of the island on the weekends, and we were there during the week.) The bumboat ride was fun, and the people we interacted with in the village area were friendly. There were quite a few school groups setting up camp and doing activities. It was quite a long Grab ride from our hotel and it was hard to find a ride back.

Glad you enjoyed the rustic vibe and pretty views on Ubin! Unlike the touristy sights in the city centre which are easier to access, Ubin is definitely more for the traveller who seek a local experience. Take care and see you again!

Great morning on Pulau Ubin

Keith was knowledgeable and interesting. He paced our walk to suit our fitness and interests. The wildlife was abundant and engaging and the wetlands gave us an insight into what old Singapore was like. The village while a little commercial was authentic and rustic but very welcoming. We loved our time on the island. There were ferries ($4 each) coming and going all the time, so there was very little waiting time. We would highly recommend this tour.

Thanks for the morning walk in the wild, Penne & Joseph! Glad you got some group shots of the wild boars and long tailed macaque. Keith is still smarting from not bringing along his camera, and missing out on those precious group shots :( It was fun hosting the both of you!
