Nadat je tijdens deze dagtour bent opgehaald bij een handige centrale Melbourne CBD-locatie in comfort met airconditioning, is je eerste stop het pittoreske Emerald Lake in de prachtige Dandenong Ranges, waar je de mogelijkheid hebt om je eigen lunch te kopen en te genieten een ontspannen wandeling rond het meer. Dan is het allemaal aan boord van de wereldberoemde Puffing Billy Steam Train. De trein slingert door de heuvels en eindigt in Belgrave. Daarna is het een mooie rit naar de volgende halte, The Nobbies, om het uitzicht op dit iconische uitkijkpunt in je op te nemen. Vervolgens is het tijd om het Phillip Island Wildlife Animal Park te bezoeken, waar je een diner kunt kopen voordat je de schattige pinguïns uit de rollende golven ziet opduiken en hun weg naar huis in hun holen vinden.

Billy puffen en lunchen Rit Puffing Billy Emerald Lake Park naar Belgrave. Geniet van deze iconische stoomtreinrit door de glorieuze Dandenong Ranges. Loop vervolgens over de promenade met uitzicht op de oceaan naar het blaasgat van Nobbies en Seal Rock en geniet van de prachtige omgeving. De tijd die u hier doorbrengt, is om de promenade te verkennen en van het uitzicht te genieten.
Pinguïnparade en diner op Phillip Island. In het winterseizoen kunt u uw diner kopen in Phillip Island Nature Park. In het zomerseizoen kunt u uw diner kopen in het historische stadje Cowes en genieten van een wandeling door deze badplaats. Na het diner ben je klaar om getuige te zijn van de wereldberoemde Penguin Parade. Kijk hoe de pinguïns uit de rollende golven tevoorschijn komen en zich een weg banen over het zand naar hun holen. De tijd die u hier doorbrengt, omvat tijd om te kopen en te eten, tijd om de Penguin Parade te bekijken en reistijd terug naar Melbourne CBD.

Harley was excellent guide/driver. Although I rated high for pick up, two buses arrived before ours and the guides were slow to identify who was on their buses and they seemed to take a long time to board their passengers and did not advise where their tour was going Too much time wasted in the cold Harley was much more efficient
A fantastic journey through the forest on a very traditional coal-powered train. The driver, who also served as our guide, was outstanding—polite, hospitable, and incredibly supportive.
We had a great day. Marty was very patient & a good guide. He went out of his way to help us see as much as possible..it was a tight schedule but well worth the experience..loved seeing the penguins & the train trip was a good experience hanging out the window thru the dandenongs..was beautiful & marty drove in front popping up everywhere to film us.. Was a great day
Listen to driver advice on bathrooms and points of interest. Bring layers for variable weather, wind only, only, etc, layers not one size fits all in my opinion
This excursion was fantastic from start to finish. The Puffing Billy Steam Train is amazing and such great fun. The Nobbues, wild, rugged and beautiful. The Penguin Parade magical, to see the penguins in their natural habitat was a wonder to behold. This is a must do trip. Our guide Tony was helpful, informative and kept us to time. 100/10 from us.
This tour was well organised and informative I’m an older lady in my 70s ticking off my bucket list and this definitely is doable for an older person and did not disappoint. The scenery on the island is breathtaking Our tour guide Bonnie was very informative also taking the time to point out all the wildlife along the way and what steps have been taken to protect them I would definitely recommend. Commune with nature. Appreciated the efforts of the local community in keeping the steam locomotive running; and somehow conserving the wildlife nature on Phillip Island, despite the swell of tourists. Huge thanks to Adam from Wine Hops Tours for his local insights; and for taking us safely, and timely to our various destinations. For such an itinerary, -timing- is everything.
It has been really fun! Loraine has played a big part for this tour! Definitely will come back for this tour again.
Lovely day trip! More included than expected with the 8:30 departure. A few nice stops at a beach and coastal town for breaks and lunch as well as the puffing Billy and penguins which was a nice way to break up the trip and see more of Phillip island.
This is a great experience. The Puffing Billy is excellent and the train ride was fantastic. The Penguins were disappointing...we didn't see any and although you are constantly reminded not to take photos or videos as this frightens the Penguins, lots of people still did. The bus driver, Molly, was a tremendous help with her knowledge and highlights. We were given plenty of time during stops to buy food, go to the toilet and a bit of shopping. The only drawback was the actual bus. It was too small and very uncomfortable for such a long trip. A Coach would've been a lot more comfortable and taken a great trip to fantastic!
