Een van de oudste moskeeën in Amman, herbouwd door koning Abdullah I in 1932 op de plaats van de moskee gebouwd door de tweede kalief, Omar Bin Al-Khattab rond 640 na Christus. Toeristen kunnen mogelijk naar binnen als ze op de juiste manier gekleed zijn. In de buurt van deze moskee zijn twee beroemde souks: Souq Bukharia (goed voor souvenirs) en Souq Al-Sukar (fruit, groenten, noten en specerijen.)
Dit historische herenhuis, gebouwd in 1924, heeft gediend als een postkantoor (het eerste van Amman), het ministerie van Financiën en een hotel. Tegenwoordig is het gerestaureerd met antiek meubilair door een prominente Jordaanse zakenman, die ook de hertog van het dorp Mukhaybeh is. De verzameling oude foto's van Amman biedt een interessante glimp van vervlogen tijden. Het is allemaal behoorlijk ondergewaardeerd, maar toch charmant.
Souk el-Khodra, oftewel de groentemarkt, is de perfecte wekelijkse bestemming voor al je verse groenten en fruit. Veel van de producten worden lokaal geteeld en de prijzen zijn aanzienlijk betaalbaarder dan de meeste supermarkten in Amman. Maak een wandeling door de souk en geniet van de overvloed aan verse seizoensproducten die beschikbaar zijn terwijl je luistert naar de melodieën van de handelaarsliederen, die je naar hun kraampjes lokken, de gids zal je rondleiden.

We had a wonderful afternoon walking through Amman with our guide Orwah. He was very entertaining and knowledgeable. We tried many great foods from some local places.
Amazing walking tour ! I highly recommend this tour, without a doubt, to anyone travelling to Amman. It is a great way to get to know the city, the country and the local culture. Our guide was very knowledgeable, answered all our questions and even changed his plan to add stops depending on our interests (ex: visiting a Mosque). He took his time with us, stopping to sample foods on the way. He was more than generous with his time and knowledge.
I had a terrific time touring the souks in Amman and learning about the history and culture of Jordan. My tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable and he helped me find some hidden treasures in the marketplace, as well as providing a wonderful memory of my time in Jordan.

Interesting tour through the market areas. They did not go to any sites. We had less options due to Ramadan, but still got to try a few things. Biggest issue was guide spoke very fast, and was often hard to understand

Our guide Orwa was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable, sharing many interesting details about the city’s history. We started at the mosque and then spent the evening walking to many places around downtown markets, where I got to try some local food. It was a fantastic and memorable evening — highly recommended!

Our guide was absolutely amazing. It was like visiting a cousin. He took us through the city like we were truly family. I learned so much about Jordan past and present on the tour. I really wished he was our guide during our entire stay. On this tour I was with my brother but, I often travel alone and would have felt totally safe with our guide. He really felt like my Jordanian cousin. We told him if he ever comes to the United States we would be happy to be his guides
