Barbara was our Guide to visit the Vatican museums, Sistine Chapel and Saint Peter‘s Basilica. Her attention to detail started well before our tour date helping us to secure the proper tickets for our tour to ensure a seamless visit. She was super knowledgeable of the art and the history of the pieces in the museum and gave us great history of the Sistine Chapel paintings. She was so gracious with her time as we went beyond our scheduled timeframe, making sure that we were comfortable to ask any questions that we might have. She even arranged dinner reservations for us after our tour at a local favorite restaurant of hers, and it was some of the best carbonara we had during our visit to Rome! would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone who wants an immersive experience of the Vatican!
Barbara toured the Vatican with us, on separate tours. We were privileged to have such an educated individual/local show us around. She answered all our questions, gave us in-depth knowledge of the subject matter, while entertaining and showing us a great time. We couldn't be happier with our experience and are grateful to Barbara for the knowledge and the memories.
Barbara is a true Roman, born and bred in Rome with intimate and down-to-earth knowledge of Rome, the Vatican and its place in history. She has an engaging personality and it was a pleasure to spend several hours with. Highly recommended!
Barbara was an incredible guide, knowledgeable, engaging, and truly passionate about the architecture and the history behind every element we saw. We book two tours with Barbara: a half day tour of The Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill, and half day of Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St Peter's basilica. From the moment I started planning our trip months in advance, Barbara was wonderful to work with. She was responsive, helpful, and generous with information, not only about the tours we booked, entrance tickets and schedules, but also about all things Rome. Her local insights, from restaurant recommendations to help with reservations, made our experience even more special. While completing our visit, Barbara knew exactly the items and parts that we will appreciate the most, and guided us to look in depth at elements relevant to some conversations we were having during the visit. Barbara’s enthusiasm and deep knowledge brought every site to life, making our visit to these beautiful places unforgettable. I highly recommend booking with her if you’re looking for a personable guide who connects with you, keeps you engaged, and makes history feel alive.
Barbara is a wonderful tour guide with a genuine passion for what she does and a deep love for her city. As a lifelong Roman, she has spent her entire life learning about Rome’s history, and she shares that knowledge in a way that is both engaging and easy to understand. The Vatican Museums, St. Peter’s Basilica, and the Sistine Chapel are incredible on their own, but Barbara’s guidance transformed our visit into something far more meaningful. Her understanding of the artifacts, their history, and the stories behind them enriched every moment. Without her insight, we would never have fully appreciated what we were seeing. Barbara’s knowledge of the Vatican Museums is astounding. She’s there several times a week and seems to know every employee and most of the other guides. This familiarity helped us navigate crowds effortlessly and ensured we had the best possible vantage points throughout the tour. She also carries an album of pictures and diagrams that she uses to explain key details—especially helpful before entering the Sistine Chapel. This added context made a tremendous difference. The tour was absolutely worth the cost. We came away with an understanding and appreciation that will stay with us forever, making this once-in-a-lifetime experience even more special. Our time with Barbara was at the very beginning of a 54-day trip through the Mediterranean, including more than 15 guided tours—and hers was by far the best. We highly recommend booking a tour with Barbara. Her passion, expertise, and warmth make exploring Rome truly unforgettable.
This tour was awesome! We loved having Barbara as our tour guide. There is so much to see that it can be overwhelming. But with her in-depth knowledge and personal insights, Barbara made sure that we saw and learned about the most important things. The three hours flew by!
Without a doubt this was the best tour I’ve had with my family. I have kids ranging from 5-13. This tour guide did an amazing job keeping all of the family entertained. We’ve been around the wold and toured it but the team here was the first to keep all of us entertained. I cannot recommend them enough as an amazing tour of the Vatican and Sistine chapel and the basilica.
This was great. It was the first time for us to visit the Vatican, its museums, the Sistine chapel and the basilica. Having someone to show the highlights was great and our guide was very knowledgeable. Even though we had an ant hill at the holy door because of the jubilee was okay. Next time we know how to be organised and pick our own itinerary, but this is great if you are here first time. Thank you
Barbara was our guide and our family had an amazing time with her in the Vatican. She was witty, knowledgeable and guided us through the crowds effortlessly. Barbara knew lots of details and she managed to keep three teenage boys entertained for three hours. What an achievement! Thank you
Carlo is extraordinary! We have enjoyed many private tours in Italy and other European countries, but nothing compares to a tour led by Carlo. A master story-teller and a deeply curious and well-informed historian, Carlo not only shared extremely interesting information but also left us spellbound with his many fascinating historical stories and anecdotes. His energy and enthusiasm were contagious! I can imagine no one better to lead you through any tour in Rome! Thank you, Carlo!
