Om 8:00 uur haalt een deskundige gids je op bij je hotel in Aswan en rijdt naar het zuiden van Aswan, wat ongeveer 3 uur rijden is om te genieten van een Abu Simbel-dagtour vanuit Aswan met een voertuig met airconditioning. De twee tempels van Abu Simbel, met hun unieke stijl, worden beschouwd als de meesterwerken van het oude Egypte. Ze weerspiegelen de glorie en grootsheid van het nieuwe Koninkrijk. De Egyptische regering en UNESCO besloten samen te werken om deze tempels te redden van de overstroming. De tempel van Ramses II was gewijd aan de vier universele goden Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re en aan Ramses II zelf. De grote tempel van Abu Simbel wordt ook wel de zonnetempel van Ramses II genoemd. De tempel van koningin Nefertari wordt ook wel de tempel van Hathor genoemd, die de vrouw van de zonnegod was, dus op een symbolische manier, de twee tempels, die van Ramses II en die van Ramses II. van Nefertari, breng Ramses II, Nefertari, Hathor en de Zonnegod samen als één. Dit artikel gaat over de Egyptische koningin en vrouw van Ramses II. Voor andere personen met deze naam, zie Nefertari (het ondubbelzinnig maken) . Nefertari Nefertari, ook bekend als Nefertari Meritmut, was een Egyptische koningin en de eerste van de grote koninklijke vrouwen (of belangrijkste vrouwen) van Ramses de Grote.[1] Nefertari betekent 'mooie metgezel' en Meritmut betekent 'Geliefde van [de godin] Mut'. Ze is een van de bekendste Egyptische koninginnen, onder vrouwen als Cleopatra, Nefertiti en Hatsjepsoet, en een van de meest prominente waarvan niet bekend is of waarvan men denkt dat ze op eigen kracht heeft geregeerd. Ze was hoog opgeleid en kon zowel hiërogliefen lezen als schrijven, een zeer zeldzame vaardigheid in die tijd. Ze gebruikte deze vaardigheden in haar diplomatieke werk, wat overeenkomt met andere prominente leden van het koningshuis uit die tijd. Haar rijkelijk versierde tombe, QV66, is een van de grootste en meest spectaculaire in de Vallei der Koninginnen. Ramses bouwde ook een tempel voor haar in Abu Simbel naast zijn kolossale monument daar.
Ramses II spelde afwisselend ook Rameses [6] of Ramses, 'Ra is degene die hem baarde' of 'geboren uit Ra', Koinē Grieks: Ῥαμέσσης, geromaniseerd: Rhaméssēs, c. 1303 BC - juli of augustus 1213; regeerde 1279-1213 v. Chr. [7]), ook bekend als Ramses de Grote, was de derde farao van de negentiende dynastie van Egypte. Hij wordt vaak beschouwd als de grootste, meest gevierde en machtigste farao van het Nieuwe Rijk, zelf de machtigste periode van het oude Egypte.[8] Zijn opvolgers en latere Egyptenaren noemden hem de "Grote Voorouder".

I loved the flexibility of departure! Everyone leaves Aswan at 4 am but by going later, we had almost no crowds. It was a very relaxing van ride with available chargers and nice drivers. The lunch on the way back was excellent - best fish I’ve had in a long time. Definitely recommend!
The tour itself was good, Abu Simbel is worth the trip, but do NOT use this company. In hindsight, we may not have needed a guide but it was a helpful 10 minute explanation. The reason for this low review is that I paid in advance for entry tickets to be included, but upon arrival I had to pay for our tickets. (Even so, tickets are 50% cheaper at the site than the added cost and ticket lines were nonexistent.) I notified the tour company on the day of our tour, provided receipts, and was told I would be refunded. Two weeks later and several messages later, I have not received any refund nor any reply from the company about when I may be refunded the amount.
The good things were the description of the Absinbel temple guide, the on-time pickup and the delicious lunch. The unfortunate things were that I had been told that I could get some water, but they didn't, that a stranger (a driver I know?) came in without our permission on the way home when it was supposed to be a private car, and that the driver didn't seem to be very good at English, making it difficult to communicate during long-distance driving. The purpose of this tour is to go to Absimbel (and tickets were included!), so I think it was good to say that we achieved that.

The driver was very friendly, picked up us on time, and waited for us when we returned to the parking lot. We felt very comfortable during the whole trip.
The pick-up time was respected. Very good drivers. Time at Abu Simbel site was expected to be 1u15min, which is too short. We extended our stay a bit. Should be possible to stay 2 hours. Guides are not allowed in the temples.
Used the taxi facility. On time, nice car and knowledge sharing. Very professional and available to help.
Emo tours is who delivered the experience, our pick up time was 4am driver was not there I messaged and got a reply at 4.11am that he could not drive to the accommodation because of a blocked road but the road had been blocked days before because our driver from the airport drove us around it to our accommodation, keep in mind the days before we clarified this in email and WhatsApp the pick up location via GPS. So he picks us up from the same location he said he could not get too, at 4.22am and we leave he has to stop to get fuel by this time we reach the escort waiting area and it’s 4.37am he tells me we can’t leave until 5am, what is the point of booking the 4am start if we cannot leave until 5am? I booked the early spot to get there before the buses to not be as crowded but that did not happen, I would have thought getting the private driver and car would help but in this case it did not. The communication from this company was below par I had to message them about everything, all the other tours I have been on in Egypt recently the day before I get the drivers number this one I didn’t get anything. On the way back from the tour he starts asking my partner if she wants to go to the perfume shop and take her into town none of this which is in the tour which she declined. He did take her to the atm as she asked and then he offered to take her to another shop again she also declined. All in all It was a comfortable drive and peaceful, but if you are someone who is trying to beat the crowds by getting there early and paying the extra cost I would not recommend.

The car arranged for us was a bit sporty meaning we had little room in the back seat. The driver was impatient and unfriendly. He drove like an 18 year old boy-racer - at 140kph he was inches from a car in front on various occasions. Plus on the way back he almost fell asleep at this speed- told him to take a 2 minute rest, but he refused.
