De grootste buitenwasserij ter wereld! Bekijk de dhobiwallahs, of wasmannen, die lakens schrobben van de grootste ziekenhuizen en hotels van Mumbai in deze drukke wasruimte in de buitenlucht.
Deze tempel wordt beschouwd als een van de mooiste, meest ingewikkeld versierde tempels in de stad. Het jaïnisme, een Indiase religie, waardeert vooral vreedzaamheid en geweldloosheid.
Bezoek een van de groenste en meest rustige gebieden van Mumbai op de top van Malabar Hill. Je zult het oogverblindende uitzicht over Marine Drive en de Arabische zee niet geloven!
Deze beroemde tank uit de 12e eeuw wordt omringd door hindoetempels en bevat naar verluidt water met speciale genezende krachten. Het gerucht gaat dat de bron uit de heilige rivier de Ganges komt
Aan alle kanten omgeven door water, bevindt deze moskee zich aan het einde van een lange dam die uitsteekt in de zee. Het is het graf van Saint Haji Ali, een rijke moslim die afstand deed van de wereld en naar Mekka ging. Er wordt gezegd dat hij stierf in Mekka en de kist op wonderbaarlijke wijze naar de plek dreef waar de moskee later ter ere van hem werd gebouwd.
Een van de grootste groothandelsmarkten voor groenten, fruit en vlees van de stad - en het eerste gebouw in India dat elektriciteit krijgt!
Zie een van de drukste treinstations van het land tijdens de spits! CST is Mumbai's enige UNESCO-werelderfgoed en was te zien in het laatste nummer van de bekroonde film, Slumdog Millionaire.
Gebouwd in 1911, marcheerden de Britse troepen in 1948 onder de Gateway of India om het einde van de Britse Raj . aan te geven
De "Dievenmarkt" is een van de grootste en drukste vlooienmarkten van het hele land en verkoopt bijna alles. Proef wat lokale zoetigheden, neem heerlijke zelfgemaakte augurken en chutneys mee naar huis, of koop een kleurrijke vintage Bollywood-filmposter!
Geen reis naar Mumbai is compleet zonder een wandeling over Marine Drive, ook wel bekend als de Queen's Necklace.

A very insightful tour across the little and narrow streets of the biggest slum of Mumbai. It really helped to understand the hole parallel economy going on in such places as well as to get a better understanding of the reality of 12 million inhabitants of this city. We had a very informative and varied guided tour of Daravi, with leather workshops, plastic processing and many small alleys through the residential areas. Our guide was very well informed, answered all our questions patiently and with a lot of knowledge. We would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to understand how Daravi works.

Words can't express the gratitude for Javed. This tour is amazing but while touring the slums, my husband took a bad fall and Javed didn't hesitate to jump into action and got my husband to a hospital. After he was stitched up, we went on with the tour. We went to so many incredible places. I especially loved the Outdoor laundry area of Mumbai and the former home of Mahatma Gandhi. Seeing the GATEWAY to India was also very impressive. It was a clean and comfortable car with a skilled driver and cold drinks provided. 10 stars!

I don't even know where to start with this amazing tour. The tour took a quick turn when my husband had a slip and fall. Javed jumped into action & took ua to get treatment and stitches at a local hospital. We then went on with the tour and made ao many great stops. The highlights were the slums, the outdoor laundry, the railway station and the former home of Mahatma Gandhi. The ride was comfortable, cold drinks provided and Javed was so knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. I highly recommend this tour and Javed as your guide. I rate this 10 stars !!
