We had a great day trip with Sustainable wine tours. Carlos was an excellent host; very informative, and he picked some great places for our tastings. The wineries we visited were very unique and our tastings were private. We loved the experience and bought a lot of wine :-) I would recommend Sustainable Wine Tours and Carlos to anyone looking for a unique wine tasting experience and a special day.

Carlos was fantastic! Knowledgeable, kind, patient, and personable. He shared his knowledge of the area well and made wonderful personalized recommendations and arrangements. A perfect way to experience Santa Barbara wine country. We've taken many great wine tours, but we've never had such a knowledgeable guide. Carlos exceeded our every expectation. His stories about the wines, the wineries, and the area was exceptional. We couldn't have asked for a better day.

If you're looking for a phenomenal and truly unique wine tasting experience, STOP, you've found it. Scott and Karina planned an incredibly special day based on the input we gave them. Karina was a blast as our host - knowledgeable, fun, and not afraid to turn the music up. The three wineries we visited were each completely distinct, with different wine selections, settings, and hosts. The five of us fit comfortably in the Tesla, and we enjoyed a beautiful pond-side lunch with sweeping views of the mountain ridge. I've done a lot of wine tasting in my life, and this was hands-down the best experience we've had. Everything felt so perfectly curated we were half-convinced Scott and Karina had hired local actors -- and animals -- to appear on cue. Like the golden retriever that started running alongside the car as we drove down one long, sunlit winery road.

Two words: Just Go! Karina was an exceptional host/guide/chauffeur as she shuttled us around the Santa Ynez area to 3 amazing tasting rooms. We had the amazing opportunity to interact directly with the winemakers and hear their stories first hand. What an exceptional day. Karina even organized a surprise birthday treat complete with candles as both my partner and I were celebrating our birthdays on this trip. If you come across this tour and want to taste wine in the area, book immediately!

We had such an amazing time on this sine tour. Scott took such good care of us and we discovered great wine. Each winery we visited was unique and lovely. There was so much attention to detail on this tour and it exceeded our expectations. We loved meeting the owners and representatives of each winery we visited and the care they each took to show us their craft and art. George, Darlene, Michelle & Eric This year we did something different for Thanksgiving. We spent an extended weekend in Santa Barbara. We wanted to do some wine tastings without the hassle of renting a car and driving ourselves, so we chose Sustainable Wine Tours. This was a great choice. We were picked up at our hotel by our tour guide Karina, the most pleasant laidback person in the world. She was a great source of information about the wine area, the grapes and the process of wine making along with facts about the areas we traveled through. The vineyards were all private, not accessible to the public. If you knew nothing about wine making and tasting by the end of the day you were an expert. We got the V.I.P. experience at every stop. Great people, lots of food, wine, and information. The tour was much greater than a five-star rating. The perfect way to spend a day in Santa Barbara wine country.

What a wonderful day! Highly recommend. Karina was informative and curated visits for us at three very different small, private wineries. We spent time with the winemakers at each site, learning about them, their businesses, and their wine. These are by-appointment-only wineries - we were the only people at each stop. We tasted wonderful wine all day - and had lunch in between at a lovely outdoor location. Karina is deeply immersed in the San Ysidro Valley/Santa Barbara wine scene. It was educational, delicious, and we all had a ball.

This was truly one of the best experiences we’ve had in Santa Barbara and hands down the best wine tasting tour we’ve ever done—and we’ve been wine tasting in Tuscany, Switzerland, Napa, and Washington! We chose this tour for a special birthday celebration, and it exceeded all our expectations. A special shout-out to our guide, Karina, who was an amazing host and made the day even more memorable. We’d also like to recognize Colin and Hanna from Marbeso Wines and Emily from Dafoe Wines—these vineyards are now among our absolute favorites!
