De grotten van Postojna zijn het op een na grootste ondergrondse grottenstelsel ter wereld. Uniek voor zijn holtetrein die nergens anders ter wereld te vinden is. Kasteel Predjama ligt dicht bij de grotten en het is een van de spectaculairste middeleeuwse kastelen en het grootste grottenkasteel ter wereld.

We starten de excursie vanuit Portoroz. Onze eerste stop zal zijn in Postojna, waar we de grotten zullen bezoeken. Daarna wordt wat vrije tijd voor lunch en winkelen gegeven.
Na de rondleiding door de grotten bezoeken we het Predjama-kasteel, het grootste grottenkasteel ter wereld. Daarna terug naar Portoroz.

Even though Mateo was a great guy and driver-it would have been nice to have a real tour guide w us explaining all of the sites on our dive to and from the cave and castle. We had to cut our tour short due to Viking changing their time of departure last minute! Which they heard about in their review ! So we were rushed most of the time. But Mateo was great insuring we were back to the boat on time for their ‘early’ departure! Also nice just having our group of 8 on this excursion!

Unfortunately, the change in departure time was made by the cruise company at the last minute, and since the boat isn’t operated by us, this was completely outside of our control. Our priority in that situation was to make sure you returned on time and didn’t risk missing your departure. The castle and the caves were amazing, you can't put into words the beauty of this area. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable of the are and made the trip fun.
