Bereid je voor op de meest uitgebreide WOII geschiedenis tour beschikbaar vanuit Wenen. In één monumentale dag verbinden we de twee uitersten van het Derde Rijk : de wrede realiteit van het concentratiekamp Mauthausen en het torenhoge machtssymbool, het Adelaarsnest (Kehlsteinhaus). Dit is een lange dag (ongeveer 12 - 13 uur), maar we hebben het ontworpen voor uw comfort. U reist met een persoonlijk team : een professionele chauffeur zorgt voor een veilige en vlotte reis, terwijl uw historicus Gids de tijd wijdt aan het uitleggen van de complexe geschiedenis van die tijd. Van de diepten van de groeve tot de toppen van de Alpen, u ziet het allemaal. Ervaar de surrealistische beklimming door de marmeren tunnel en de beroemde koperen lift die 124 meter door de rots stijgt. Op de top vormt het contrast tussen het koude graniet van het kamp en het luxueuze Alpenpanorama een krachtig verhaal over de dualiteit van het regime. Terwijl we naar het westen rijden, introduceert uw Gids de historische context van de nazi-annexatie van Oostenrijk.
We gaan eerst de donkere kant van de geschiedenis tegemoet. Wandelend door het monument, de kazerne en de steengroeve, ben je getuige van de machinerie van het regime. Het is een ontnuchterend begin dat de rest van de dag in de realiteit grondt.
We gaan richting de Duitse grens. Het landschap verandert van glooiende heuvels naar dramatische Alpentoppen. Dit is het perfecte moment om te decomprimeren, water te drinken en te luisteren naar verhalen over de mythe van het "Alpenfort".
We komen aan in Obersalzberg en nemen de speciale koperen lift naar de top. Het uitzicht : Op 1.834 meter sta je waar beslissingen werden genomen, met uitzicht op Oostenrijk en Duitsland. Lunch on Top : We reserveren tijd voor de lunch in het restaurant in de voormalige conferentiezaal. Geniet van traditionele Beierse gerechten met een adembenemend panoramisch uitzicht. (Lunch kosten niet inbegrepen). De geschiedenis : Zie de open haard gepresenteerd door Mussolini en bespreek de propagandawaarde van deze retraite. Uitzicht vanaf het Adelaarsnest is afhankelijk van het weer. Neem ook in de zomer een warme jas mee, want het kan op de top winderig zijn.
Na een lange, emotioneel en visueel rijke dag kunt u comfortabel op de achterbank slapen terwijl uw professionele chauffeur u veilig naar huis brengt.

This is a wonderful tour. Both stops on this tour were interesting and worth going to. Jenny is an excellent tour guide, very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The drive through the Austrian Alps was beautiful.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and experienced. She was well prepared with maps and images to show us while we were traveling. Our driver was excellent as well. He made us feel safe on the autobahn and the vehicle was very comfortable. They modified the tour so that we could experience Schloss Altstaetter, as we had just seen the Mauthausen earlier. And our guide took lots of pictures of us as well.

An amazing tour from start to finish and its not only due to the tour destination which is a must do for all history enthusiasts but because of our tour guide(s) jenny and vladymir . Jenny was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and very obliging in sharing her vast knowledge of austrian history and of course the sites of our tours as well. In fact both went above and beyond and shared other attractions and connected us to other events of note happening in and around Vienna itself. Her photos she shared of the harrowing events that happened at mauthausen were extremely interesting and at the eagles nest of easy company mortarman bradford freeman returning to eagles nest after so many decades were enlightening to say the least . I cannot recommend this trip enough. Jenny is an amazing guide! On the ride from Vienna to Mauthausen, Jenny provided us with an informative history of Austria. Her knowledge of Mauthausen and its history was amazing. It was such an emotional visit - but something that was such a huge part of world history. Then it was off to the Eagle’s Nest. She provided more historical facts about the region on our ride there. We had a cloudy day - the peak was actually in the clouds. But it was still stunning! We had a nice lunch and plenty of time to walk around and read about its history. On the long ride back to Vienna, Jenny set up a movie for us to watch in the car. A nice touch! the places are worthwhile to visit. however, I will invert the tour. first the eagle nest and then Maunthausen (more time will need here, this is a personal view). the guide knows, but will be advisable to provide some type of brochure and/or high level summary of what will be visited.

We understand your suggestion of reversing the order of the locations, but due to operational constraints and Mauthausen's early closing time, this isn't feasible. During your tour, a road accident caused us to arrive late at Mauthausen, shortening the visit there.
