Private Kayaking Tour of Vienna

James is an amazing guide, his knowledge of Vienna really made the trip. We had a great time and can't recommend him highly enough. James took care of all the safety elements and checked in on us throughout the paddle. It works for absolute beginners or experienced paddlers and was a fantastic way to spend a few hours.

My family and I had a terrific time on the tour. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Admittedly, I did not know much about Vienna prior to the tour, but our guide told us a lot of interesting things about the city and why it's so important. The actual kayaking was great too- the boats were lightweight and very easy to move/handle. My mother says that it was the absolute highlight of our trip here to Vienna, and I'd have to agree with that. I'd highly recommend this to anyone visiting the city.

I loved to see the beautiful Vienna skyline from the waterside and at the same time being so close and connected with the nature. The quietness, the clear water, wonderful. Thank you James, for your empathetic, friendly, informative way of leading me through this tour. Without this wonderful guide, I wouldn't have done it and it was for me Vienna as its best. I highly recommend this tour for everyone, who want to see a part from Vienna that is one of the most beautiful places in Vienna.

Absolutely fantastic. A rave! My super sporty husband, our two occasionally cranky kids (11 and 13), and this un-sporty non-kayaker all had an amazing time, saw so many things, learned so much. James is a perfect guide, informative and encouraging. He made everything work smoothly, and in the midst of all the fun he greatly expanded our understanding and appreciation of the city. Just a great experience all around. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

The Kayak tour is the best one in Vienna and James was the loveliest tour guide he have ever had! Our bachelor party was very special because it started off with James‘ tour and although we were all Viennese people, we learned a lot about Vienna’s history and secrets ;) The tour is around 3hrs, so it’s perfect for a beautiful morning :) James is a flexible and absolutely awesome guide - you won’t regret booking his tour to enjoy your adventure at the Alte Donau!

We did the private kayak tour with our 3 children (14, 11 and 8 years old). It was a great experience and we had a lot of fun - although we (usually couch potatoes) were hosed afterwards :-) James is a super nice person, guided and entertained us well. So we can highly recommend the kayak tour to all Vienna visitors (and Viennese).

My husband and I booked this tour on a whim. We had no idea what to expect of a kayaking tour in Vienna. We were in for a treat! I was a bit apprehensive about a solo kayak - given that I was pregnant and have limited experience with boating. However, it worked out perfectly. We traveled at a leisurely pace and the inflatable kayak was remarkably easy to maneuver. The weather could not have been more perfect. James was an amazing guide - knowledgeable, funny, and generally delightful. Originally from England, he was able to shed a unique and interesting perspective on the city and Austrian culture. He has a fascinating background in conservationism. By the end of the tour, we felt like we made a new friend in addition to having a grand time. If you are looking for a unique way to experience Vienna, please book this tour. You will not be disappointed. Thanks James!

Family of 4 with 2 daughters (aged 11 and 12) spent the day with James and had a great time....definately the hightlight of our visit to Vienna. Got to get away from all the tourist traps and just spend a day enjoying the sun, seeing how locals spend their free time, and get some exercise while experiencing some beautiful scenery. James definately goes out of his way to make sure everyone is comfortable and has a good time. He informs you of some key highlights without making it boring or going on too long. And he is a lot of fun and enjoyable just to chat with. I would highly recommend you take this tour... You will not be disappointed.

We are a family of mum, dad and three boys aged 25, 19 and 16. Today we joined James of Venture Vienna kayaking for a three hour private tour. James met us and walked with us down to the Old Danube (approx 10 minutes from our meeting point.) He is such a great tour guide. Friendly and chatty with a really good knowledge of the area that the tour covered. The tour also included the opportunity to swim in the Danube. James took group photos of us which he sent to us really quickly after our tour finished. He also gave us lots of helpful information with regards to other places to visit and local food to eat. He adapts the tour to suit all types of kayaking ability and we all had an amazing morning and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We then spent the afternoon at one of his recommendations (the train/bus ride up to the Krapfenwaldlbad, outdoor swimming pools with wonderful views) and had a great time there too.
