Op basis van de ophaaltijd stemmen we af met de aankomst van uw schip, ontmoet uw gids in de Kusadasi Cruise Port om uw reis naar de eerste stop op de route te beginnen.
Het Huis van de Maagd Maria, gelegen 6 km ten noorden van de ruïnes van Efeze, wordt verondersteld de plaats te zijn waar Maria haar laatste dagen doorbracht. Een kerk werd hier gebouwd in de 6e eeuw na Christus op de fundamenten van een 1e-eeuws huis, en het is erkend door de kerk als haar laatste woonplaats.
De Tempel van Artemis, een van de Zeven Wonderen van de Oude Wereld, stond bekend om zijn grote schaal en heilige betekenis. Gewijd aan de godin Artemis, maakte de tempel van Efeze een belangrijk bedevaartsoord in de oudheid. Het bevatte 127 Ionische zuilen, elk 19 meter hoog. Opmerkelijk genoeg functioneerde de tempel ook als een van de vroegst bekende banken in de antieke wereld.
Bezoek een traditioneel tapijtweverijdorp om de kunst van handgemaakte Turkse tapijten te ontdekken, lokale ambachtslieden aan het werk te zien en meer te leren over eeuwenoude weeftechnieken en natuurlijke kleurstoffen. Na afloop kunt u genieten van een heerlijke traditionele Turkse lunch bereid met verse lokale ingrediënten in een rustige dorpsomgeving, met een authentieke smaak van Turkse gastvrijheid en keuken.
Na de tour gaan we terug naar Kusadasi Port voor uw vertrek.
Ephesus Ancient City is een archeologische schat en de best bewaarde klassieke stad in het oostelijke Middellandse Zeegebied. In de 1e eeuw na Christus was het de op een na grootste stad ter wereld na Rome, met een bevolking van meer dan 250.000. Strategisch gelegen in het hart van de oude wereld, diende Efeze als een belangrijke poort tussen Oost en West, dankzij de enorme haven en bloeiende handel. Efeze was niet alleen een commercieel centrum, maar ook doordrenkt van romantiek – het was beroemd om de huwelijksreisbestemming van Marcus Antonius en Cleopatra. De stad is de thuisbasis van een van de Zeven Wonderen van de Oude Wereld: de prachtige Tempel van Artemis. Vandaag de dag is Efeze zo goed bewaard gebleven dat een wandeling door de oude straten voelt als een stap terug in de tijd. Bezoekers kunnen zich vergapen aan grote monumenten zoals de Bibliotheek van Celsus, de op twee na grootste bibliotheek van de antieke wereld, en het Grote Theater – het grootste Romeinse theater in Klein-Azië. Het verkennen van Efeze is echt een reis door de geschiedenis.

The tour of the main historical sites was conducted in a spacious, air-conditioned vehicle. Berkay, our guide, was generous in his explanations, providing context about the history and influence of the civilizations that have succeeded one another in the region.

Enjoyed visiting Ancient Ephesus and the House of Saint Mary. Had a great lunch at a rug factory although our visit there was a bit too long.

We started off a bit late since we booked the small tour group we had to wait for two guest coz they cannot follow instructions. Not the tour companies fault coz they gave us clear instructions where to find them. So regarding the tour itself. All i can say is for the price that we paid it was a very high quality tour. Out tour guide Yelis she was very Knowledgeable, Super nice and very considerate since we have a 11 month old baby with us. She always made sure that we are comfortable like being in the shade when she is explaining the area. And letting us know where the baby can feel more comfortable since it was really really hot that day. The food was amazing. It was a little taste of turkish food. Our bus had a little bit of a problem with air conditioning but they had a replacement bus right away so that was not a big trouble. All in all the tour was amazing and worth every penny spent. Thank you to our tour guide Yelis and put driver for doing an amazing Job!
