Tijdens de Japanse bezetting van Nederlands-Indië werd het gebouw de residentie van vice-admiraal Tadashi Maeda tot de komst van de geallieerden in Indonesië in september 1945, toen het gebouw door de Britten werd gebruikt als militair hoofdkwartier.

This was a Private tour for 5 people. Because it was just us the guide and driver, we were able to customize the tour to what we wanted we wanted to see. WE HAD AN AMAZiNG TIME! Did everything we wanted to do. The guide, Augusto or After July was Awesome!! A+++++. He and the driver were very knowledgeable and kind and funny and friendly about Jakarta and its history. Great driver!!! We had so much fun! What a great day we had from noon until 7 pm. I'm a travel agent and I will do this tour again. The Lunch was INCREDIBLE at a local restaurant called Tekko. I would love to go back!. Fish and chicken and soup and beef and vegetables were DELICIOUS!!! Couldn't eat it all.. Thank you for a GREAT TOUR!! Our plan for coming Jakarta for ASEAN Meeting only but we have a full day free here. Then, we decided to discovery Jakarta. It was an amazing trip with lovely tour guide lady. We was really enjoy, happy & funny with our short trip in Jakarta ❤️
