Ga naar Sigtuna, de oudste nog bestaande stad in Zweden en loop langs de 18e-eeuwse traditionele houten huizen aan de hoofdstraat die nog steeds het oorspronkelijke Viking-tijdperk hebben, reis terug in de tijd. Luister naar verhalen over Viking-mythologie en sagen. Een ander verbazingwekkend hoogtepunt van deze tour zijn de oude grafheuvels van Uppsala die meer dan 50 meter breed / 150 voet breed zijn! Alle centrale hotels, havens en andere accommodaties in het centrum van Stockholm, maar niet de haven van Nynäshamn (als u Nynäshamn binnenrijdt, geven we u een routebeschrijving naar een ophaalplaats in Stockholm stad) Als uw tour vertrekt vanaf de cruise-pier: Als je schip aankomt op S165 en S167 STADSGÅRDEN: Loop alsjeblieft een paar honderd meter van je schip af terwijl je de BLAUWE / GROENE lijnen volgt. Ga voorbij de hekken en bewakers, en je gids zal daar wachten, met een bord met de tekst "Viking Tours" op een A4-papier. OPMERKING: Als u een ander havennummer invoert in STADSGÅRDEN dan S165 of S167, gaat u naar buiten de hekken en bewakers en de gids zal u daar ontmoeten tijdens de rondleiding. Als uw schip aankomt op F638 FRIHAMNEN: Ga bij het ontschepen van het schip door het terminalgebouw. Als je eenmaal voorbij de schuifdeuren bent gegaan (iedereen die het schip verlaat, zal deze kant op lopen), zal de gids je net buiten de schuifdeuren ontmoeten. De gids houdt een A4-papier met de tekst "Viking Tours". OPMERKING: als u een ander havennummer invoert in FRIHAMNEN dan F638, gaat u naar buiten de hekken en bewakers en de gids zal u daar ontmoeten tijdens de rondleiding. Als uw schip aankomt op V523 VÄRTAHAMNEN: loop van uw schip naar de toeristenbussen, die zich op minder dan 10 meter van de scheepsromp bevinden. De gids wacht op u in het toeristenbusgebied, in de buurt van de bussen, met een A4-papier, waarop 'Viking Tours' staat. De gids zal u vervolgens naar het tourvoertuig leiden. OPMERKING: Als u een ander havennummer invoert in VÄRTAHAMNEN dan V523, gaat u naar buiten de hekken en bewakers en de gids zal u daar ontmoeten tijdens de rondleiding. Als uw schip aankomt bij NYNÄSHAMN: GEEN PICK UP INBEGREPEN HIER. Dat komt omdat het 50 kilometer verwijderd is van het centraal station van Stockholm. We raden u aan contact op te nemen en met ons een vergaderlocatie in het centrum van Stockholm te beslissen. We geven aanwijzingen hoe we daar naartoe kunnen gaan met de trein of met een van de cruisebussen die van de haven naar Stockholm gaan. Als u niet zeker weet van welke pier uw schip aankomt, neem dan contact op met de cruisemaatschappij.

A great tour of you want to know the history of the Vikings and see Runes and the Mounds and get the real information about the Vikings. Super informative and a really nice day out in the countryside.
Olof was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable about the Viking history as well as the general history of the region. We had a great day.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. It was great seeing some Swedish countryside as well as the stops included in the itinerary. As it was a private tour, we were also able to add in a visit to Drottingham Palace. Our driver and guide for the day was the amazing Calle. He was very knowledgeable, entertaining and friendly (he also did our boat tour the day before). Would definitely recommend Swedish History Tours especially if Calle is the guide.

This was an amazing and educational tour to Sigtuna and Uppsala.Our guide Uhlof (sp?) picked us up on time and gave us a lot of very informative information on the way out of Stockholm and at the sites we visited. He was very knowledgeable and was able to answer our questions about the history of the areas we visited.He recommended a place to have lunch in Sigtuna which was delicious . As beautiful and historic as Stockholm is ,I don’t think I would have as good of a sense of Sweden without having taken this excursion. The countryside is gorgeous and the history fascinating. Uhlof spoke excellent English , had a good sense of humor and dropped us off at our hotel at the time he estimated at the start of our tour. I highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in Swedish history and getting a look at the Swedish countryside.

This is a completely immersive experience for anyone who wants to separate fact from movie fiction about the history, culture and lore of the Viking age. Our guide was an expert historian with deep knowledge of the Vikings and dozens of fascinating anecdotes and stories that helped us put this period of history into perspective. This tour exceeded expectations and we saw and learned many things at every stop that made this one of our best days traveling.

My friend and I had a great time on our full-day tour with Olof midway through our trip to Stockholm. We enjoyed the chance to see some lovely Swedish countryside and learn more about the Vikings via their runestones. It was fun to visit Sigtuna (where we had a great lunch at a cafe called Valvet, recommended by Olof) and Uppsala, and we particularly liked seeing Uppsala Cathedral and the Viking burial mounds in Gamla Uppsala. Olof was friendly and informative and we felt very comfortable with him. Thanks Olof!
