Efeze heeft zijn belang in de oudheid niet te danken, maar zijn ontwikkeling als een belangrijk handelscentrum en zijn hoofdstad. De grootste tempel van de Artemis-cultus, die deel uitmaakt van de oude Anatolische godin (Kybele) traditie, bevindt zich in Efeze. Deze tempel wordt beschouwd als een van de zeven wereldwonderen.

Je wordt opgehaald bij je hotel of cruisehaven in Kusadasi door je officiële gids en de eerste ervaring is de oude stad Efeze. Efeze werd bewoond vanaf het einde van de bronstijd, maar de locatie van de stad werd veranderd vanwege het verzandingsproces van de rivier de Cayster en vanwege verschillende heersers. De oude stad die we vandaag bezoeken is de 3e locatie van Efeze uit de 3e eeuw voor Christus. Terwijl je de site binnengaat met je gids, zul je veel indrukwekkende monumentale gebouwen in deze Grieks-Romeinse stad zien, zoals vanaf de Poort van Magnesia; Agora's, waaronder de commerciële Agora, Romeinse baden, Basiliek, Odeon (Buleterion), Domitian Square met meer ruïnes verspreid over waaronder Nike Relief, Gate of Heracles, Drie belangrijkste gekloneerde straten van Efeze waaronder de Harbour Street, Trajan Fountain, Tempel van Hadrianus, Latrines (oude openbare toiletten), Teracce-huizen (van buitenaf), Bibliotheek van Celsus, Grand Theatre, Gymnasium en meer ...
Je eindbestemming in het historische deel van je tour zal het oude Griekse dorp "Sirince (Şirince)" zijn wat "mooi" betekent. Tegenwoordig is het dorp een perfecte synthese van de Turks-Griekse cultuur. Je gids neemt je mee door het dorp terwijl je de smalle straatjes tussen de oude Griekse huizen volgt, en dan heb je de kans om een tijdje van je vrije tijd te genieten terwijl je door de straten loopt waar je de dorpelingen hun eigen ambachten ziet verkopen, naald werkt rondom.

We had exceptional full day tour with our guide Ozge. Her knowledge of Ephesus was excellent, never rushed at all. A nice surprise at end with local delicious baklava that we were able to share with friends.

The tour was fantastic. Ayse was very welcoming and very knowledgeable. She looked after us really well, ensuring that we were OK at all times. She went at the pace we required and accommodated all our needs. The driver was also very good and careful at driving. The Ephesus tour itself was very interesting and highly recommended. Sirinci village is also very beautiful and cultural. We also stopped at a pottery factory run by a family which was incredible and a leather factory which was entertaining. Overall this tour is highly recommended. Thanks to Omer for organising everything for us and ensuring a smooth tour.

Ephesus city was very beautiful. Highly recommended for anyone who likes history. I really enjoyed it and was amazed at the stories. Ayse was very nice, welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable and a very good tour guide. Sirinci Village was also very pretty little village, lots of handmade art, jams, syrups. I tasted some jams and bought some.

We did a Private Ephesus & Sirince Village Tour we also went to virgin mary. it was amazing the guide selcuk was verry kindfull and friendly , first we tought we gonna get bored but when we saw ephesus we were really happy bcs of the experience we got. it was an unforgettable day for us.

We booked this whilst taking a walk through the town. We were browsing and, one of the reasons we booked with this company and not another is because they were not pushy. They answered all our questions and let us go away and think about it. The next day, we went and booked it. The driver was on time and nothing was a problem for him. As it was a private tour, we didnt feel rushed or have to stay at a certain attraction we were not interested in as is the way with coach organised tours. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip to the sirince village and bought several souvenirs and wine from there. Would recommend and use this company again. 5 stars all round
