Het Baqi Observation Deck is naar verluidt het mooiste ‘keerpunt’ van de weg. Als je vanuit Hualien City hierheen rijdt, terwijl je door de haarspeldbochten rijdt, zul je merken dat het landschap plotseling verandert van de groene bergen aan beide kanten naar de uitgestrekte Stille Oceaan, met Coastal Range majestueus oprijzend.
Dashibishan Trail is goed ontworpen, en het landschap van het schilderachtige terras is genezend. Het duurt slechts ongeveer 15 minuten om een prachtig uitzicht op de oceaan horizon, en de prachtige houten schraag met de blauwe lucht, bergen en de zee als achtergrond te bereiken. Dit wordt een must-visit plek voor bloggers en influencers, want ze kunnen foto's maken als een pro, zelfs zonder super fancy camera's of schietvaardigheden.
Shihmen Recreation Area is een uniek geologisch gebied aan de kust van Hualien County. Het is beroemd om zijn grote, autovormige grot. Het is nog steeds een prachtig en uniek stuk kustlijn. Shimen betekent letterlijk "rotspoort" krijgt zijn naam van de grotten langs de kust hier. Het gebied bestaat uit hard sedimentair gesteente geplaatst over zachtere zandsteen, die na duizenden jaren van golven uit de oceaan, unieke rotsformaties creëert.
Als een van de beroemdste attracties in de oostkust, Shitiping is bekend om zijn speciale geologie van het zeeterrein, waaronder de golf-cut platforms, opgeheven koraalriffen, kliffen en de kuilen. Je kunt de tropische vissen in getijdenpoelen zien vanuit kuilen en ander zeeleven woont hier.
Tijdens de energiecrisis en de economische recessie in de wereld. Het verlies en tekort zorgden ervoor dat het mijnbouwbedrijf sloot en niet meer aan mijnbouw deed in dit gebied. Nu is de mijn gesloten en mag niemand meer naar binnen. Er is echter wel wat jade te vinden in het stroomafwaartse gebied van de mijn: Baibow Stream (白鮑溪), wat een geweldige plek is om de kleine jade steen te plukken. Heb je ooit gedroomd van het maken van je eigen jade ketting of decoraties? Je kunt naar de beek lopen om de Jade op te halen, dan de jade steen terugbrengen naar de fabriek en ze zelf polijsten. Het klinkt interessant en kan worden beschouwd als een unieke souvinior tijdens de reis in Taiwan.
Het Liyumeer is het grootste meer in het oosten van Taiwan. In de omgeving kunt u diverse activiteiten ondernemen, zoals waterfietsen of fietsen rond het meer. U kunt ook een wandeling maken langs de loopbrug aan de oever van het meer, en de flora en fauna daar waarderen. Liyu Lake schilderachtige gebied is geschikt voor alle leeftijden, vooral voor het hele gezin. Wanneer de zon ondergaat, wolken en bergen worden weerspiegeld op het meer, en het landschap is heel mooi.

This was a really unique tour! Jade hunting was such a memorable experience for me! Our tour guide Jimmy is an expert jade hunter so we were able to get at least one piece of jade.

This was our 2nd private, full-day tour with our great driver-guide, Sam, and he didn't disappoint! We started out renting kayaks for paddling on the pretty Lake Liyu, followed by fun "jade-hunting" in a shallow river (we actually found a tiny piece!) We had spicy beef noodle soup and sides at a tiny local shop for lunch which was nice. We stopped at many very cool places along the East Coast that had amazing "other-worldly" rock formations like Shitipi and Shimen Cave. We also hiked up Dashibi Hill through amazing vegetation for spectacular coastal views! We really enjoyed both of our full-day tours with our knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating driver-guide, Sam!

I love the tailored itinerary. This is my first time coming to Taiwan and I found Amazing Taiwan Tour through someone’s blog so naturally I asked them for recommendation. They are very helpful in giving suggestions and our guide Alex is amazing! Very cheerful, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. He was able to bring us to some hidden spots for pictures! Fully recommend this company for those coming to Hualien! ❤️ As a suggestion, perhaps can consider adding a specific tour to visit and meet the aboriginal tribes (if possible).
