Om 5 of 6 uur ’s ochtends haalt uw chauffeur u op en rijdt u naar Haridwar, dat ongeveer 5 uur rijden is. Je eerste stop is Har ki Pauri. Har Ki Pauri wordt beschouwd als een van de heiligste Ghats in het land en is vermoedelijk de eerste plaats waar Ganga vlakten raakt, waardoor de ongerepte reeksen van de Himalaya achterblijven. De ghat staat ook bekend als de Brahma Kund waar je de steen kunt bekijken die een afdruk heeft van Heer Vishnu’s voet, zoals de naam al aangeeft. Je verkent ook twee bruggen in Rishikesh. Eerst is Lakshman Jhula, de populaire hangbrug over de heilige rivier Ganga. Deze 450 ft lange Jhula is gebouwd op een hoogte van 70 ft van de rivier en ligt op ongeveer 3 km afstand van de belangrijkste stad van Rishikesh. De andere brug is Ram Jhula, de ijzeren Parallaxbrug aan de rivier Ganga in Rishikesh. Ram Jhula is de nieuwere brug vernoemd naar Lakshmans broer, Lord Ram.
Je kunt lunchen in een lokaal restaurant (op eigen kosten) voordat je Sivananda Ashram, Parmath Niketan Temple, Gita Bhavan, Swarg Ashram, Ma Anandamayee Ashram, Sapt Rishi Ashram en The Beatles Ashram bezoekt. In de avond tijdens zonsondergang bezoekt u Ganga Aarti bij Haridwar. Duizenden sekten bezoeken de ghats van de Ganges bij Har ki Pauri in Haridwar om getuige te zijn van de aarti die enkele decennia geleden begon. De traditie gaat onverminderd door en is een lust voor het oog. Het vindt plaats aan de andere kant van de oevers waar je de priesters de lampen met de klok mee ziet aansteken, begeleid door liederen ter ere van Moeder Ganga. Nadat het ritueel is voltooid, zullen toegewijden hun handen boven de vlam plaatsen en hun handpalmen naar hun voorhoofd heffen om de zuivering en zegen van de Godin te krijgen. Tenslotte gaat u terug naar New Delhi en wordt u rond 21:00 uur bij uw hotel afgezet.

- Bovenkleding: moet de schouders, borst, navel en bovenarmen bedekken
- Lagere slijtage: moet ten minste onder de knie zijn
- Verwijder schoeisel buiten de tempel. Sokken zijn prima, je kunt ze blijven dragen.
- Er wordt matig gewandeld, draag comfortabele sokken

Ajay was a great tour guide. He took us to some beautiful places including a beach with sparkling sand! It’s also not every day you’re on a beach and there’s a cow laying in the sand soaking up the sun.

I took part in a fantastic tour in Haridwar and Rishikesh, the sacred sites of the Ganges River, which had a particularly positive effect on me. Ajay is a wonderful guide! He answered all my many questions with good humor and lots of information. The scenery is amazing and the many temples and religions were lovely to see and learn about. It was a great day, well worth the drive. Highly recommended!!

This tour is wonderful and the organization was perfect. We had a little glitch at first, but the organizer did well to meet our request. The day is long, but rich in beautiful scenery and moments.

An interesting tour, but a long drive (4 hours each way from/back to Delhi). Visited the various Ghats and Ashrams which were included on the tour, and also a Hindu temple (Glass Temple) which was unlike any other I have visited. I felt the tour could have been shortened as there was quite a time gap between the earlier visits and the start of the evening Aarti ceremony. Pickup arrangements were all fine and good driver and guide.
