Volgens de gevraagde tijd wordt u opgehaald bij uw hotel in Aswan en rijdt u naar het zuiden van Aswan, wat ongeveer 3 uur rijden is om te genieten van de Abu Simbel-dagtour vanuit Aswan met een voertuig met airconditioning. De twee tempels van Abu Simbel worden met hun unieke stijl beschouwd als de meesterwerken van het oude Egypte. Ze weerspiegelen de glorie en grootsheid van het nieuwe koninkrijk. De Egyptische regering en UNESCO besloten samen te werken om deze tempels te redden van de overstroming. De Tempel van Ramses II was gewijd aan de vier universele goden Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re en aan Ramses II zelf. De grote tempel van Abu Simbel wordt ook wel de Zonnetempel van Ramses II genoemd. De tempel van koningin Nefertari wordt ook wel de Tempel van Hathor genoemd, die de vrouw was van de Zonnegod, dus op symbolische wijze zijn de twee tempels, die van Ramses II en die van Nefertari, breng Ramses II, Nefertari, Hathor en de Zonnegod samen als één. Breng daar ongeveer 3 uur door en neem dan de terugweg naar Aswan.

We had a wonderful experience at the Abu Simbel temple. The guide and his driver were very accommodating; they came to pick us up at the station and dropped us off at our hotel. The drive is a bit long from Aswan, but there is not much we can do about it. Our guide shared a rich and passionate story with many enriching details.
The driver, Abdo, arrived on time. I had a confortable 3h trip to Abu Simbel and 3h trip to return, on his car. I totally recommend his service.

The excursion went as planned except for the end unfortunately: our hotel was located on the west bank of Aswan and the driver picked us up there in the morning as planned. However, when we returned from the excursion to Aswan, we were taken back to the east side of the city because the guide wanted to take us to a “very good souvenir shop” that was on this side of the city. After passing through, the guide did not want to take us back to our hotel on the west bank and we were forced to return on our own, taking a boat that we paid for ourselves. The return to the hotel was included in the service. Despite our request, the organizer refused to pay us compensation. Too bad because the rest of the day went well. So beware when the guide wants to take you to a specific shop...

Definetly worth visiting and the trip was less tortuous than expected, not even that long. Driver didn't speak a word of english but at least was polite and respectful. I can recommed.
