We bezoeken een spectaculaire oase in de woestijn en maken een korte wandeling langs de stroom naar de David-waterval. De beek stroomt het hele jaar door en er zijn genoeg plekken om te peddelen en jezelf te verfrissen onder een waterval. Kijk of je onderweg een steenbok kunt spotten.
Masada is een oud paleis met uitzicht op de Dode Zee en de woestijn van Judea. We nemen een kabelbaan naar de top en zien hoe koning Herodes de Grote de woestijn omtoverde tot een magnifieke residentie met luxe vertrekken, badhuis en zelfs een zwembad. Masada was ook het laatste verzet van de Joden in de opstand tegen de Romeinen in 73 nC. We zullen leren hoe de Romeinen de plek belegerden en wat er met de Joden gebeurde toen de Romeinen uiteindelijk door de muren braken. Het is een symbool geworden van vastberadenheid, vrijheid en heldhaftigheid.
Dit is een van de beste stranden aan de Dode Zee, met badmeesterdiensten, parasols, strandstoelen, douches en kleedruimtes. Drijf in de Dode Zee en geniet van de therapeutische voordelen en helende eigenschappen van het zout- en mineraalgehalte.

Simon did a fantastic job as our tour guide and would highly recommend him! We did a tour of the old city and separately a Masada/Dead Sea tour and on both he was fantastic. He had a great knowledge of history, answered all our questions and made our visit to Israel very meaningful. Highly recommend!

I can't say enough great things about Simon but first I want to share a little of my story. I just visited Israel for the first time, traveling solo, this July. I was was very nervous traveling alone and wasn't sure which tour guide work with. My trip was sort of last minute when I was accepted to the JNF Educator's mission. When I reached out on social media for suggestions, I came across Simon. I am so glad I did. Simon took me to Caesarea for what was supposed to be a half day tour. Simon went above and beyond. He not only educated me about Caesarea but provided me with so much valuable information about other sites including places I would be traveling to on my own without him. A week after we met, I was in the old city in Jerusalem, I had his voice in my head remembering things he told me to look out for there. He was more than just a guide for the one day we spent together, he had a real impact on my overall Israel experience. While I didn't have time to see everything I would like to in Israel, I know when I return, I will be reaching out to Simon for future guided tours. In terms of the logistics of my tour, Simon picked me up in his very comfortable, air conditioned vehicle, and was kind enough to drop me off at a second location. And to top it all off, after visiting Caesarea on a very hot day, Simon bought me the best ice cream I had on my trip. Simon speaks very articulately and is easy to understand.
