Maungawhau / Mt Eden is een van Auckland’s meest bezochte maunga (berg) met meer dan een miljoen bezoekers per jaar. Vele wandelpaden leiden naar de tihi (top) en een spectaculair uitzicht over de stad en Waitematā Harbour. Sommige sporen zijn steenachtig en steil. Zorg ervoor dat je je aan gevormde paden houdt.
Een mooie rit door het Auckland Domain met het Auckland Museum op de achtergrond met winterharde bomen en waterwerken omvat een bezoek aan de beroemde Winter Gardens.
Een korte tussenstop op Bastion Point die rijk is aan Māori-geschiedenis met een schilderachtige tuin en uitzicht over de haven en het eiland Rangitoto

Je tour gaat verder met een korte tussenstop op Archilles Point, voor een spectaculair uitzicht op het centrum van Auckland, Waiheke en Rangitoto Islands.
Devonport is een ontspannen dorp aan de baai met chique cafés en visrestaurants, evenals klassieke kiwi-pubs en fish & chips-winkels. De vulkanische kegel van North Head biedt een spectaculair uitzicht op het eiland Rangitoto aan de ene kant en de stad Auckland aan de andere kant. Je kunt het dorp verkennen en proberen kiwi-stijl fish & chips of de beroemde zelfgemaakte Devonport-chocolaatjes met een wandeling rond North head. Eten & drinken kost extra's.

Our group of 6 adults ended a cruise in Auckland and we wanted to take a private tour of the City and surrounding areas. We were fortunate to find the Black Car tour. It included many interesting stops. Our driver, Kris, was very accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable. He went the extra mile by meeting us at the pier and taking our luggage to our hotel then returning to pick up the rest of our group. We had many stops during the 5+ hours of the tour and never rushed us at any of the stops. Kris shared his extensive knowledge of New Zealand and Auckland. The Mercedes vehicle was comfortable and just the right size for our group. At the end of our tour, Kris helped us arrange a transfer to the airport and picked us up the next morning. It was one of the best tour experiences we've had. Thank you, Kris!!

Kris picked our group of 6 up from the cruise ship terminal. We had a very comfortable tour in his Mercedes Touring Van. Kris is very knowledgeable about the history of Auckland. He took us to so many beautiful and interesting places in Auckland. We had an amazing tour. He is very friendly. He gave us plenty of time at each stop to see the area and take pictures. We had many questions about this area. He answered all of our questions. This private tour was so much better than the big bus tours offered by the cruise ship. I highly recommend this tour!

We had the pleasure of taking the Auckland city tour with Kris in his black luxury Van, from the minute he picked up from the hotel he was amazing with the onboard amenities of cold bottles of New Zealand spring water, on board Wifi to enable us to upload our pictures! This private tour was perfect for the four of us. Kris is a very good communicator. He had an excellent plan for showing us the best of Auckland. He picked us up in a large Mercedes 8 passenger van, pristine condition with waters for everyone. Some of the high points were a visit to Cromwell Park, One Tree Hill, Mount Eden, Devonport, and Bastion Point. We were treated to beautiful views of the city and was able to take great pictures. Kris shared his tremendous depth of knowledge of the city's history and the Maoris who settled there. We've taken a lot of tours and Kris rates a 10 out of 10! Wonderful day!!
