Gebouwd in 1878 door Moïse Nahon, een vooraanstaande bankier en leider van de gemeenschap. Het beschikt over ingewikkelde decoraties in Andalusische stijl, waaronder gesneden stucwerk en Arabische kalligrafie.
Opgericht in 1821, was het het eerste Amerikaanse openbare bezit in het buitenland en diende het meer dan 140 jaar als de Amerikaanse diplomatieke missie. Het museum toont de culturele en diplomatieke relaties tussen de VS en Marokko, inclusief belangrijke artefacten en kunst, zoals werken van James McBey.
Een centraal plein, dat fungeert als een poort tussen de oude medina en de moderne stad. Historisch gezien een bruisende marktplaats, nu een levendig ontmoetingspunt, omringd door cafés en de schilderachtige Mendoubia-tuinen.
Dit kleine plein staat bekend om zijn levendige sfeer en historische betekenis. Het dient als een sociaal knooppunt, omringd door cafés, restaurants en hotels, waardoor het een ideale plek is om te genieten van muntthee en mensen te kijken.

Abdel was the perfect guide to help us experience the sights and culture of Tangier. We were there for two days and Abdel took us to see many interesting sights, great restaurants and shops and looked after us from the time we were picked up until the time we left. Would highly recommend Abdel to be your guide if you ever visit Tangier.

We had a wonderful tour with Abdelmoghit. He was super attuned to our family and took our wishes into account. Since we were there with our four-year-old daughter, he designed the tour so that we only walked downhill. He showed us great places and explained a lot to us. We were also picked up at the port and escorted back there by him. We would definitely come back and recommend him 100%.
We had a fantastic time with Abdelmoghit. My husband and I booked a private walking tour through the Medina in Tangier and found Abdelmoghit to be very knowledgeable and passionate about Tangier. We learnt a lot about the history of Tangier but also some great insights about modern life and the city today. Wandering the narrow streets with a private tour was excellent as it felt very personal and flexible, and more like a friend showing us around than a generic touristy experience. You could definitely tell that Abdelmoghit was a true local! Would recommend to anyone visiting Tangier.

Our tour with Abdel was outstanding! Prior to our tour, our communication with him was excellent as he was always quick to respond to any questions regarding the itinerary or logistics. He was extremely knowledgeable, and we learned so much about Tangier and the Moroccan culture during our tour. He scheduled a delightful coffee stop and afternoon lunch, and he was always so thoughtful responding to our many questions. You won't have any regrets booking a tour with Abdel! Our day with him was a highlight of our trip!
Abdel was wonderful. He met us at the arranged location with a sign with our name and it was smooth sailing from there. He provided interesting historical and cultural information along the way without being overbearing, allowing quiet time to enjoy the sites. Our focus was Chefchaouen, but when he learned we were leaving early the next day, he offered to show us around Tangier as well--a lovely bonus! We appreciated his casual style, insights on culture, and family stories.
Guide Abdel was punctual, kind and demonstrated experience and knowledge. He helped us beyond his obligation, by kindness, being very requested. We can only thank you. We really liked the experience and even thought about returning to Morocco to get to know Tangier better.
Abdel was a first class guide. He looked after our family of 4 with two teenagers & made the experience enjoyable for everybody showing us the sights and sharing the rich history of Morocco. We booked our ferry trip unfortunately outside of mainland Tangers in the port of Tanger Med which is about 45 mins away, but he didn’t request any extra cost to our fee finishing at 9pm drop off time. Abdel was polite, patient & full of knowledge & would definitely recommend him as a first class guide. Thank you Abdel.
