Beschrijving
Jodhpur wordt vaak de blauwe stad genoemd omdat veel huizen, haveli, tempels en gebouwen in het oude gedeelte van de stad in levendige blauwtinten zijn geschilderd. De kenmerkende kleur heeft een historische betekenis en wordt vermoedelijk door de brahmaanse kaste gebruikt om hun huizen van andere te onderscheiden

De ontwikkeling van de twee meren werd in de 15e eeuw in opdracht van twee verschillende koninginnen uitgevoerd. Het Ranisar-meer werd aangelegd in opdracht van koningin Jasmade Hadi, de vrouw van Rao Jodha, de stichter van Jodhpur. Het Padamsar-meer is aangelegd door koningin Padmini, de dochter van Rana sanga van Mewar.
Negen verschillende veiligheidscontrolepunten waar alle documentatie werd gedaan door de koninklijke familie. Volgens de legende begonnen brahmanen, de priesterlijke klasse, hun huizen blauw te schilderen als onderscheidingsteken en om hun sociale status aan te duiden.
Zeer mooie tempel lijkt een replica van de ghashyamji-tempel in Jodhpur.

The tour was amazing. We saw many beautiful places, ate spicy foods and definitely enjoy our guide who was very knowledgeable, down to earth, with a great sense of humor. His English is excellent. I highly recommend this tour.
