De oude stad Ciutadella, die al meer dan 700 jaar de hoofdstad van het eiland is, vormt een beschermd architectonisch ensemble van statige huizen, monumentale kerken en elegante boetieks. Door te slenteren door de middeleeuwse straten en steegjes, geflankeerd door historische gebouwen en uitnodigende terrassen, proeft u de heerlijke mediterrane sfeer van deze prachtige stad.

Ik zal je door het prachtige oude stadscentrum van Ciutadella leiden, beginnend bij het sierlijke stadhuis dat een prachtig uitzicht biedt op de prachtige haven en zijn leuke bars en restaurants. Na het middeleeuwse netwerk van smalle straatjes tussen historische herenhuizen en paleisachtige huizen, zullen we de gotische kathedraal, het weelderige Olivar-huis en de Sant Agustí-kerk en -klooster zien en de binnenplaats van het bisschoppelijk paleis bezoeken, de Sant Crist dels Paraires-kerk als evenals de pittoreske voedselmarkt.

This was a favourite part of our trip to Menorca. Our tour guide, Alvin, was superb and he not only walked us around the beautiful city but told us the background stories to historical buildings and Menorcan traditions.

Alvin was an amazing tour guide; he provided Ciudadela Town and Menorca’s history in a unique and interesting way. He took the time, no rush, to walked us around the city and gave us tips for topical food restaurants . Definitely a must do!!!

Very good ice cream parlor in a side street in Ciutadella. We came here twice because there was a large selection of ice cream and it tasted very good. There are also a few chairs outside in the shade where you can enjoy the ice cream.
The tour guide Alvin was very knowledgeable of the city's history, food, architecture and notable historical figures. He has a very agreeable personality and good energy. I highly recommend this tour.

It is a beautiful city with nice streets and restaurants. It is good to remember about siesta because restaurants are closed at this time. Great place to walk, experience the old streets of this city and have a nice dinner. People are very friendly, which is the case may be in all of Spain. You can also buy some nice local products like shoes, cheese etc.
