Luxor per vliegtuig wordt snel net zo populair als Caïro. Een van de belangrijkste redenen voor zijn populariteit is dat veel toeristen Luxor niet zo vaak bezoeken als Caïro, dus je kunt garanderen dat de reis meer ontspannen is zonder de drukte die plaatsvindt, vooral tijdens een bezoek aan Caïro, en de luchthaven is zeker niet zo hectisch. het is een van de reizen die we niet sterk genoeg kunnen aanbevelen. Luxor is een stad in Opper- (Zuid-) Egypte en de hoofdstad van het gouvernement Luxor. Als locatie van de oud-Egyptische stad Thebe (de grote hoofdstad van Egypte tijdens het Nieuwe Rijk) wordt Luxor vaak gekarakteriseerd als het ‘grootste openluchtmuseum ter wereld’, aangezien de ruïnes van de tempelcomplexen van Karnak en Luxor binnenin staan. de moderne stad. Direct tegenover, aan de overkant van de rivier de Nijl, liggen de monumenten, tempels en graven op de Necropolis op de Westelijke Jordaanoever, waaronder de Vallei der Koningen en de Vallei der Koninginnen. Jaarlijks arriveren duizenden internationale toeristen om deze monumenten te bezoeken.

De Vallei der Koningen: Toen Luxor de hoofdstad van Egypte was, kozen de koningen deze vallei als hun begraafplaats, verborgen tussen de heuvels. Het bevat meer dan 62 graven die zijn uitgehouwen door de koningen uit de 18e, 19e en 20e dynastie. De Vallei der Koningen kreeg zijn bekendheid door de ontdekking van het graf van de gouden koning Tut Ankh Amon. Ten slotte ga je kennismaken met de levensstijl van de lokale bevolking op de Westelijke Jordaanoever, en krijg je ook de kans om enkele van hun handwerken te leren kennen. Zodra je je bezoek aan de Westelijke Jordaanoever hebt beëindigd, rijd je naar de Oostelijke Jordaanoever waar je luncht en een pauze hebt om je voor te bereiden op het tweede deel van de tour.
De tempel van El Deir - Elbahri (de tempel van koningin Hatsjepsoet): Deze tempel is een van de mooiste tempels die we in Egypte hebben. Het was in de berg uitgehouwen en werd gebouwd door koningin Hatsjepsoet (de sterke vrouw die in de 15e eeuw voor Christus over Egypte regeerde). Het werd gebruikt als haar dodentempel.
De Kolossen van Memmon: De Kolossen van Memmon zijn twee enorme beelden. Het zijn de enige overgebleven staande beelden tegenover de dodentempel van de Imonhotep III. De oostelijke oever: De Karnak-tempels: Het complex van Karnak-tempels is het op één na grootste religieuze complex ter wereld!!!! Het heeft de grootste hypostyle hal (zuilenhal gebouwd door koning Ramses II) ter wereld met 134 kolommen. Het werd gebouwd door verschillende generaties farao's. Daarin zie je de hoogste obelisk (de obelisk van Hatshepsut) in Egypte. Aan het einde van uw rondreis gaat u naar de luchthaven van Luxor om terug te vliegen naar Sharm el-Sheikh en bij aankomst vindt u onze vertegenwoordiger. wachtend tot u een lift naar uw hotel geeft, net op tijd om de laatste bestellingen voor het diner op te halen.

They canceled my flight a few hours before. The refund will take place in 5 business days and therefore I have to pay an even higher amount upfront, given the proximity of the dates, for the next available date. Money spent on the visa (the 5 of us paid 150 euros). Excursions missed for the day of the new schedule and significant inconvenience. Never again with them!
We took the private tour (just a little more expensive) and our Ahmed and our driver Hammad were great. We got to plan the itinerary for the entire day and spend as long or as little at each location as we liked. There were no surprise charges (you do need to pay some nentry fees) and we were not forced to visit local factories etc. Knowledgabel guide and plenty for water supplied, air condicrtioned vehicle. Was great day for the kids. Our best day in Eygpt.

We experienced a full day private tour to Luxor by plane. We were picked up at our hotel promptly in a very clean and nice car. The transitions between teams at different check points were smooth. The experience was relaxing and rich in cultural experiences. Ahmed the tour guide made sure we were taken care of and accommodated our asks professionally. Essam the driver was very nice and drove very safe. I would highly recommend the tour experience to anyone from Sharm that wants a day excursion to experience the cultural aspects of Egypt.

We had a wonderful day on our private tour to Luxor. Ahmed our guide, and our drivers Mohammed and Mustafa (in Sharm and Luxor) were all lovely and everything ran extremely efficiently. Ahmed was great and tailor- made the trip for us brilliantly- ao we visited the tombs of Ramses V/V1, Seti and Tutankhamen - which were all well worth visiting, as well as a short boat trip on the Nile. We ended the day at Karnak temple which was spectacular, and then Luxor temple which was beautiful illuminated at night. A truly memorable end to a magic day. Thank you all!

During our trip to Sharm El Sheikh, we purchased a one-day tour to visit Luxor. Our tour guide, Ahmed, was extremely friendly, talkative, hospitable, and gentlemanly. He shared his extensive knowledge of Egyptian history with us in fluent English. When we wanted to extend the tour we had purchased, he offered us several alternative options. The tour was very comfortable, and the vehicle was also quite comfortable. He also took us to the airport exactly at the time we requested. We are planning to come here again and are already looking forward to traveling with him once more.

What a fantastic day . Fr pick up at 4am to flight at 6am , then meeting our fantastic guide Ahmed I juts can’t fault a thing about the day. Being a couple , we opted for the private tour so got a driver ( very good ) and guide in a new SUV , very luxurious. We visited the valley of the kings first to miss the rush and it was amazing. Lots of steps as you can expect but very compact area wise. Then off to two more sites and lunch on the Nile. As we were rattling round our itinerary Ahmed suggested we could fit in more sites for a very reasonable £70 extra each and we agreed. Truly awesome day with Luxor almost completed but we will be back. Oh and the pit stop on the way back to the airport where Ahmed bought us drinks and Snack for the departure lounge to save paying airport prices was a lovely touch. 100% recommend and ask for Ahmed on your booking , if when we come back - we will be.

This trip is only worth it if you are completely desperate to see the sites in luxor . If you have time and money shop around as this experience ,we felt was a complete money grabbing operation. None of the sites entry tickets where in included in the price so the whole day you are paying EXTRA money ontop of what you already paid . Everyone who greets or you or marginally interacts with you wants high tips and treats you coldly and with disdain if you don't pay enough . There where 2 waste of time excursions to spice and pottery shops where the staff are shouting at you and almost forcing you to buy things and incredibly pushy and rude. The lunch was a minimum option buffet that made us both feel sick after. We where also dropped off at the airport 4 hours before our flight ! This time could have been spent at other sites or added to the sites we seen. It was all very rushed and hardly anytime at the sites. Of course we Loved the sites themselves ancient Egyptians are amazing modern ones not so much . Disappointed to be very honest .
My sister and I had such an amazing experience with Hamdy. His knowledge on the history of Egypt is amazing. Very extensive and interesting. I would highly recommend this private excursion with him because he allows you to tailor your experience to how you would like to spend the day. We’re so glad we got to see as much as we did.
