Ontdek de unieke markten buiten Bangkok tijdens deze avontuurlijke markttour. Ga naar de beroemde Maeklong-spoorwegmarkt waar verkopers hun goederen langs een actieve spoorlijn opzetten en zien wat er gebeurt als de trein doorkomt. Ga dan naar de drijvende markt van Damnoen Saduak en slinger door waterwegen terwijl verkopers hun verschillende goederen verkopen. Koop souvenirs of heerlijke Thaise lekkernijen voordat je terugkeert naar Bangkok.

Je begint je tour met een privévoertuig naar de spoorwegmarkt, ongeveer 1,5 uur van Bangkok. Wees op tijd voor je tour! We moeten om 6.30 uur vertrekken, anders mis je de opwinding op de surrealistische spoorwegmarkt. En geloof ons, je moet het zien om het te geloven! Verkopers zetten hun goederen op langs actieve spoorbanen, met verse producten, stoffen, kookbenodigdheden en meer, allemaal op slechts enkele centimeters van de rand van het spoor (en in sommige gevallen recht bovenop de sporen). Je zult zien wat er gebeurt als de trein doorkomt: verkopers verzamelen hun spullen en laten hun luifels zakken, en zowel verkopers als shoppers stappen opzij terwijl de trein dwars door het midden van de markt rijdt. Zodra de trein vertrekt, wordt het bedrijf hervat alsof niets hen had verstoord! Tussen het treinrooster door leidt uw gids u over de markt en laat u kennismaken met traditionele Thaise gerechten, van desserts tot snacks tot vers fruit. We gaan dan verder met een korte rit naar een plantage van palmsuiker, waar we het huis van een dorpsbewoner bezoeken die nog steeds traditionele palmsuiker maakt. Er zijn veel kokospalmplantages in Thailand, en de lokale wijsheid om organische palmsuiker te maken van de nectar van kokosnootbloemen is van generatie op generatie doorgegeven.
Verder gaan we aan boord van een kleine boot voor een rit door smalle dorpskanalen om de beroemde drijvende markt van Damnoen Saduak te bereiken - houd je camera klaar want deze plaats is een non-stop foto. Als u tijdens uw boottocht iets opvalt, laat uw gids dan weten en u kunt stoppen om met leveranciers te kletsen en iets kopen om mee naar huis te nemen (of om daar te eten!). We zullen dan de boot verlaten en rondlopen om meer van de markt te verkennen. Je vindt een verscheidenheid aan Thais eten, zoals tropisch seizoensfruit van lokale boomgaarden, evenals souvenirs, allemaal verkrijgbaar aan beide oevers. Rond het middaguur gaan we terug naar Bangkok en brengen we je terug naar het ontmoetingspunt vlak naast het BTS National Station (Skytrain). Uw lokale gids geeft u graag een routebeschrijving naar uw accommodatie of naar andere sites die u zou moeten zien.

- U moet op tijd aankomen op het ontmoetingspunt. Vanwege het treinschema op de Spoorwegmarkt kunnen we niet langer dan 5 minuten wachten. We raden aan om ten minste 15 minuten vóór de starttijd van de tour op het ontmoetingspunt te zijn.
- Kinderen tussen 6 en 11 jaar zijn inclusief op deze tour toegestaan tegen het hierboven vermelde tarief. Selecteer hierboven 'kind' tijdens het boeken. Kinderen jonger dan 6 jaar zijn niet toegestaan op deze tour.
- Houd er rekening mee dat als een van de sites in het reisschema is gesloten vanwege redenen buiten onze controle, een alternatieve site zal worden bezocht.
- Verkeersomstandigheden kunnen de terugreis naar Bangkok vertragen
- Lokale impact: hoe u de lokale gemeenschap helpt door deel te nemen aan deze tour: in plaats van een van de vele palmsuikerplantages te bezoeken die zijn opgezet voor toeristen om het proces te zien en te leren, bezoeken we een lokale familie op hun dorpsplantage waar ze maken het hele jaar door dagelijks palmsuiker. De familie is hier al generaties lang en het brengen van onze kleine groepen levert hen wat extra inkomsten op.

Pam our tour guide was great. She explained everything. We had fun trying various fruits and snacks. We rode the train to the market and then watched it leave and went to floating market. We also saw coconut sugar plantation. Great day. Educational and fun
Pam was a great guide, she also took us where locals visits, ineresting. She really paid attention all details, and cared us a lot. Especially Railway market experience was nice, was more realistic than floating market. Floating market is very commercialized, show.
This tour with Pam and Tik Tok was the first thing my friend and I did in Thailand and it was absolutely perfect. We were only in Bangkok for 36 hours but we knew we wanted to see the famous markets in shows like Somebody Feed Phil and Parts Unknown. Pam and Tik Tok picked us up at our hotel for our private tour and we had the best 6 hours. We arrived at the railway market before the crowds so we were able to explore and shop with ease. Pam also had clearly built relationships with vendors there so we had prime viewing spots for the passing of the train. She was so nice and funny and extremely knowledgeable. Tik Tok was a great driver and the van was in great shape with crisp A/C. 10/10 recommend this incredible tour!! You won’t regret it and ask for Pam!
we booked the trip via Marriott Bonvoy app (lnked with viator/TA) - to get some points (that has yet to be received on our end), but anyway, it was truly the highlight of our holiday! Guided by the ever so friendly and knowledgeable Ms Apple, we started the day in Maeklong train station - arrived in 8.30am to catch the 1st train there and back! we got to sit in a coffee shop beside the railway and got out to catch the train chugging beside us, what an experience. Next on to the coconut processing village - yummy coconuts! lastly, we went to Damnoensaduak Floating Market - also one unique experience, buying souvenirs on a boat! Finished the trip and back in Bangkok town by 2pm - time well spent! Thanks a lot Ms Apple and Bangkok Urban Adventures!

Excellent informative trip. We spent the morning with Nai , our guide and Manit our driver. Was picked up at the hotel as we were the only people on the trip. Nai was super friendly and we spent the trip to MaeKhlong exchanging stories nuggets our cultures and where to find good food in Bangkok. At MaeKhlong, Nai brought us to sample the local Thai fare ( mainly sweet desserts) and a look into a traditional Thai Market. We also visited a family run coconut sugar farm. (Look out for the super cute and friendly family dog - Fifa) Explored an authentic floating market and more than ample time to explore the market ourselves and sample the local fare. Manjit was instrumental in us reaching our destinations on time (especially to watch the train pass by the market). An excellent safe and experienced driver. Vehicle was clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this trip. Learnt and experience Thai life outside of Bangkok
Amazing trip! My partner and I were the only ones on the trip making it a private tour. Pokémon, our guide was very attentive to our needs. He found us great spots for taking pictures and even bought us gifts - we truely appreciated all his efforts The railway market was really impressive and you do need to see it to believe it! Loved the coconut farm where you get to meet the owner and see the whole process of making coconut sugar. The owner seemed proud and happy to be welcoming tourists The floating market is one of a kind and captures the early days of trading over water Overall really enjoyed this tour.
