Je eerste stop is de Benedictijnse abdij, boven de stad Melk. De Benedictijnse abdij ligt op een rots en kijkt uit over de rivier de Donau. De abdij bevat overblijfselen van verschillende leden van het huis van Babenberg, de eerste heersende dynastie van Oostenrijk en het graf van Saint Coloman van Stockerau. We nemen je mee naar de top van de abdij, vanwaar je een adembenemend uitzicht hebt op de stad Melk.
Na de benedictijnenabdij gaat uw tocht verder naar het meer van het district en passeert u pittoreske stadjes zoals Bad Ischl. Je stopt bij het prachtige dorp Hallstatt, het oudste en mogelijk meest gefotografeerde dorp van Oostenrijk, beroemd om zijn zoutproductie. Ontdek een ondergronds zoutmeer en de mummie van een prehistorische mijnwerker - bewaard in zout. Hallstatt is zo'n unieke plek dat er zelfs een kopie is van het dorp in China.
Je laatste stop is Salzburg, de geboorteplaats van Mozart en de muziekstad. Voel de sfeer van de geboorteplaats van Mozart terwijl u de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden van Salzburg bezoekt, zoals de door UNESCO beschermde oude binnenstad, het fort en de filmlocaties van "The Sound of Music". This was too expensive. You basically pay for a private car trip to the city of Salzburg with no tour guide. Our driver was very nice and we appreciated the drive but the car ride was all we got and it was incredibly over priced. We had to buy a separate tour when we got to Salzburg. We would have been better off getting the train to Salzburg and the Sound of Music tour. And it would have cost significantly less.
1. Nice tour guide but not very knowledgeable in explaining the full history 2. Recommended not to visit a lot of things given the timeline 3. 1 day tour to 3 places is not recommended to enjoy it all 4. Did not provide any water for the long haul trip
Horrible tour. Our tour guide was sick so didn’t want to explain anything to us. As soon as he would talk he would cough like a dog. If we asked him anything he would get upset. It felt like we paid for the car and driver service. Train would have been much better. Total waste of money. I highly recommended my friends about Viator as they use get your guide and were totally disappointed.
This tour was very disappointing. We paid for the private tour, which was costly. We were told we would have 1 hour in Melk, 1 1/2 hours in Halstatt, and 3 hours in Salzburg. Our driver offered us an extra stop, which was very scenic and we enjoyed it. The extra stop was approximately 1 hour. Melk was a waste of time for 1 hour. There was NO way you could enter the Monastery and walk around in an hours time, so that could have been skipped altogether. Of course we did not know that. Halstatt was beautiful, but again so busy that all we had time to do was eat lunch. When we got to Salzburg we were told we would only have 1 hour. What? We drive all this way for 1 hour! Ridiculous. Driver said if we gave him 30 euro more we could stay in Salzburg for 2 hours. Very disappointing. I understand making Salzburg 2 hours because we added the extra stop for 1 hour, but why only hour in Salzburg. Driver did not speak very good English, was a horrible, horrible driver, and never said 1 thing about The Sound of Music, so not sure how they can say it has anything to do with this tour. Save Your money and take the train. Not only is it safer, you'll have more time.
I’m not one to leave a bad review, but truly the worst tour experience. The drivers were rude and drove irresponsibly. Then in Salzburg, the drivers dropped one of our vans off in the wrong location with no direction where the rest of our group was. Two of the guests that were left lost were over 70 years old and another guest was severely disabled with brain cancer. We were also told we would have a tour guide meet us at 11:30 and no one was there until 1:00. Please don’t book this vendor. Super unprofessional. We ended up booking other transportation back to Vienna.
It was a great way to see places that we could not have found on our own. The car was nice with huge windows so we could view the scenery on the way. Victor was extremely prompt and gave great directions on where to go and what time to meet up
We joined the Private Day Tour of Salzburg, Hallstat & Melk from Vienna on 26 Dec 2023. Our driver Ivan had done a great job to drive us to the destinations and back to Vienna safely. Many thanks to Ivan! We enjoyed most the sceneries at Hallstat & Salzburg. However, we were a bit disappointed as there were no local guides in view of the expensive package price. Hope the operator/ TripAdvisor can look into this for future improvement. Best regards, KH

First of all, I want to say actually this was a very good tour to visit but: 8 of us started with the tour in a very happy mood because will visit 3 places in a day, but end up with some disappointed emotion due to a happening after visited Hallstatt for a police inspection between driver, there caused we reached Salzburg in very late evening and couldn’t visit sightseeing in very dark condition. Driver is patience & pleasant but the happenings caused us been wasted time just waiting inside van for about 2 1/2 hours and we didn’t know what’s the incident caused.
The scenery in the Alps were beautiful. Hallstatt was beautiful as well. Unfortunately our tour guide had very little knowledge of the locations that we visited. We were looking forward to. Learning about and seeing were some of the scenes from Sound of Music were filmed. Our tour guide had zero knowledge of the locations
