De reis gaat verder naar Montepulciano, majestueus gelegen op een heuvelrug, waar elke hoek een prachtig uitzicht over de Val d’Orcia en Val di Chiana onthult — een perfect beeld van de schoonheid en geschiedenis van Toscane gecombineerd.

Ontmoet onze Engels sprekende chauffeur in uw hotel op een comfortabele Mercedes-Benz voor het begin van de reis naar het prachtige Cortona: omsloten door stenen muren die dateren uit de Etruskische en Romeinse tijd, zit op de top van een heuvel ongeveer 600 meter (ongeveer 1968 voet) boven zeeniveau. Deze dominante positie over de vallei biedt een spectaculair uitzicht vanuit de hele stad van de omliggende vallei en zelfs het meer van Trasimeno. De stad is het afgelopen decennium erg populair geworden dankzij het boek van Frances Mayes, Under the Tuscan Sun (en de film met Diane Lane) in Cortona; de hoofdrolspeler wordt meteen verliefd op de stad, de mensen en de villa Bramasole die ze koopt en repareert. Tijd om te ontspannen of om de omgeving te verkennen, de chauffeur zal je de beste dingen aanraden om te doen.
Vertrek om 11.30 uur voor een heerlijke lichte lunch bij een familiewijnmakerij. Ga dan verder naar Montepulciano op een ontspannende 30 minuten rijden op de heuvels omringd door adembenemende landschappen .... natuurlijk kan uw chauffeur de auto op elk gewenst moment stoppen als u foto's wilt maken. Aankomst in het charmante Montepulciano rond 14.00 uur. Dit is een middeleeuwse heuvelstad met een zeldzame schoonheid vol elegante renaissancepaleizen, oude kerken, charmante pleinen en verborgen hoeken .... Montepulciano heeft veel aandacht gekregen na de verfilming van de vampire saga Twilight vervolg New Moon hier en heeft een opmerkelijke stijging gezien in bezoekers. Een wandeling door Montepulciano is de beste manier om de stad en haar prachtige bezienswaardigheden te bekijken en geniet van een prachtig uitzicht op het omliggende landschap, dat wordt gedomineerd door wijngaarden die de beroemde Nobile produceren en die u kunt proeven in de vele wijnwinkels binnen de stadsmuren.

What a wonderful way to experience Tuscany. Alex went above and beyond to make our day spectacular. Our tour guide was Massimo and he was terrific in several ways, the first of which was his careful and relatively slow driving. This made the travel quite comfortable, especially for our family members who volunteered for the van’s third row. From our perspective, Cortona is the nicest Italian town we visited, and the other way Massimo excelled was by letting us stay much longer instead of traveling on to Montepulciano as the tour design called for. So as Massimo returned us to our Villa, my family agreed that we very much enjoyed the day!

Alessandro was our guide and he expertly guided us through a visit to the charming Tuscan towns of Cortona & Montepulciano. Ours was a private tour and Alessandro was attentive to our wishes which allowed us to choose how much time to spend in each locale.
