Privétour van een hele dag naar Santorini

De tour kan het hele gebied van Santorini beslaan. Gasten kunnen alle bezienswaardigheden van Santorini en alle traditionele dorpen zien, zoals Oia Pyrgos en Megalochori. Als bezoeker wordt u ondergedompeld in de warme en ontspannen sfeer van pittoreske dorpjes, bewondert u lokale bouwstijlen, maakt u foto's van adembenemende panoramische uitzichten (inclusief de caldera), ontdekt u locaties van historisch belang en begrijpt u al doende de essentie van het eiland.

We beginnen onze tour op weg naar Firostefani. Het dorp Firostefani, 'kroon van Fira', ligt ten noorden van Fira en dankt zijn naam aan de verhoogde ligging. Inderdaad, het adembenemende uitzicht op Fira en de vulkaan vanuit het dorp is werkelijk onvergetelijk. Een van de hoogtepunten hier is het bezoek aan de Blue Domed Church - de iconische kerk die de omslag van zoveel brochures en reisgidsen sierde.
We gaan verder naar het noordwesten van Fira en bereiken Imerovigli. Op ongeveer 300 meter boven zeeniveau wordt Imerovigli heel vaak het "balkon van de Egeïsche Zee" genoemd en het doet deze naam zeker eer aan door een zeer spectaculair uitzicht op de Egeïsche zonsondergang te bieden. Andere hoogtepunten zijn de vele kerken in typisch Cycladische architectuur, met name de kerk van Ai-Stratis en het klooster van St. Nikolaos, evenals de Skaros-rots met de overblijfselen van een middeleeuws fort.
We zijn nu op weg naar Oia, absoluut het beroemdste dorp van Santorini en een van ongeëvenaarde schoonheid. Zeker, er is hier geen gebrek aan attracties om de bezoeker te intrigeren - de glorieuze zonsondergang, huizen gebouwd in nissen in de vulkanische rots, kerken met blauwe daken, inspirerende uitzichten en idyllische sfeer zullen de bezoeker van deze unieke plek royaal belonen.
Vervolgens komt een bijzondere bestemming iets buiten de gebaande paden. Pyrgos Village vertoont alle magie van Santorini en kenmerkende panoramische uitzichten over beide kanten van het eiland, maar behoudt ook kenmerken van de Venetiaanse overheersing. De traditionele Cycladische huizen en paden omringen het oude Venetiaanse kasteel en bieden het beste van twee werelden en maken van Pyrgos Village een plek die je niet mag missen.
Een rondreis is niet compleet zonder een bezoek aan Profitis Ilias. Op de top van de berg Profitis Ilias (profeet Elia), het hoogste punt van Santorini op 600 meter boven de zeespiegel, ligt het gelijknamige klooster. Zelfs degenen die afkerig zijn van het maken van foto's zullen de neiging niet weerstaan om een paar foto's te maken vanaf dit geweldige uitkijkpunt.
Onze volgende stop is Megalochori ('groot dorp'). Met zijn warme en gastvrije sfeer is het een van de meest pittoreske en traditionele dorpen van het eiland. Historische herenhuizen, gerestaureerde huizen en piratenschuilplaatsen zijn prominente kenmerken van deze authentieke oude nederzetting.
Onze volgende bestemming presenteert ons iets anders, de archeologische vindplaats Akrotiri. Hier is een van de belangrijkste prehistorische nederzettingen van de Egeïsche Zee. Akrotiri had zich ontwikkeld tot een grote stad voordat deze door vulkaanuitbarstingen met as werd bedekt. De as heeft echter structuren en hun inhoud bewaard waardoor de bezoeker zich kan verwonderen over dit wonder uit de oudheid.
Het is misschien wel het juiste moment om te gaan zwemmen en Black Beach, of Perissa, is een uitstekende keuze. Black Beach is eigenlijk het einde van het lange zwarte zandstrand van Perivolos en zonder twijfel het drukste en bekendste strand van Santorini. Na te hebben genoten van het kristalheldere water en het indrukwekkende zwarte zand, moet u zeker de lokale specialiteiten proberen in de vele restaurants aan zee.
En als je denkt dat je alles hebt gezien, overweeg dan Red Beach. Dit beroemde strand doet zijn naam eer aan - deze opvallende en indrukwekkend vreemde formatie van rode vulkanische rotsen met uitzicht op het strand creëert een uniek gezicht dat u zeker niet mag missen.
Santorini heeft echter veel meer te bieden dan spectaculaire uitzichten, kerken met blauwe daken, smalle geplaveide paden en fantastische stranden. Dus onze volgende stop brengt ons naar de Venetsanos Winery; ervaar uit de eerste hand de traditionele wijnbereidingskunst van Santorini en voel je vrij om de voortreffelijke lokale wijnsoorten te ontdekken en ervan te genieten waar het eiland beroemd om is geworden.

Dimitris was the perfect tour guide for our group of 5! He tailored the tour to what we wanted to see and do. He was very patient with us, and did not hurry us. Two in our group had to walk slower-one having had a knee replacement almost 3 months ago. He was very gentlemanly-holding packages when we needed to take pictures, opening the car doors for us, helping us in and out of the van, even picking up items we had dropped, etc. His recommendations for sites to see and where to eat lunch were perfect!!! He made our day perfect and truly was the perfect host! I highly recommend Dimitris as a tour guide!!

Our family of four recently visited Santorini for a day, flying from and back to Athens. With over 10 hours on the island, we debated between renting a car or booking a tour—and let me tell you, booking the tour was worth every penny! Our group of 11 did the full day tour and had a wonderful time. Sarah was a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. She answered all of our questions and gave us lots of fun and interesting information about the island, from the myths to the history to the winemaking traditions. Our driver Stelios provided great details about life on the island as a Santorini native, was very friendly, and gave us a smooth and easy ride through the winding streets of the island. They were also able to help us reschedule when half of our group got delayed at the airport. We got to see many beautiful views of Santorini, had a delicious lunch at a beachside tavern, and got some great pictures. I would definitely reccomend!

It was an incredible experience. Our guide, Elektra, was the best, showing us everything about the island, including its tourist areas, beaches, and food. With Angel as our driver, the tour around the entire island was unforgettable, and the service was the best of all. They explained the history of Santorini to us very well and answered every question we asked. We highly recommend this tour as it is one of the most comprehensive of all.

We had an amazing day trip with Stelios and our guide Stephan was informative. Both were kind and funny. Stelios was our driver for our transfer to and from airport, as well as taking us to Thira in the evenings. We did a private all day tour, starting with the 5-6 hour private tour of Santorini followed by the Wine tour with sunset at Santos winery. I can't say enough about how awesome the experience was and it was made special by Jenny. Her knowledge of Santorini and her love of her island were clear. She was accommodating and knew all the right times to be at places juts before they filled up and the secret spots for the best pictures. She's also a really good photographer. I have already recommended her to a friend who also used her this week and loved her and the team.

Our guide Kostas, made the day memorable. He took us to hidden locations to get the most amazing photos and helped us beat the crowded tour buses, especially in Oia.
