De charmante stad Lagos en het mythische dorp Sagres. Land van kastelen en forten, ridders en zeevaarders uit de oudheid, u kunt de talrijke monumenten van de regio bewonderen. Een fascinerende en onvergetelijke tour door het verleden, de gastronomie en de mensen van de westelijke Algarve. De uitgebreide geschiedenis van Lagos wordt weerspiegeld in de verscheidenheid aan attracties die overal in de stad te vinden zijn. Het historische centrum heeft nog steeds zijn karakteristieke karakter, met geplaveide straatjes, authentieke restaurants en een sfeer die ontspannen en gastvrij is. Verder naar het westen biedt Sagres je prachtige landschappen, gedomineerd door de brute kracht van de natuur en bekende forten. Deze unieke ervaring eindigt in het fort van Cape Saint Vincent met zijn krachtige vuurtoren. Dit punt wordt ook wel het einde van de wereld genoemd.

We bezoeken de charmante vissersdorpjes Burgau en Salema. Deze verborgen dorpjes hebben nog steeds hun traditionele details en hun stranden zijn gewoonweg adembenemend.
Bezoek aan de gemeentelijke markt van Lagos en aan het uitkijkpunt om de jachthaven en Meia Praia . te bewonderen Vrije tijd om te wandelen en te lunchen (anderhalf tot twee uur). We zullen tips geven over lokale restaurants vanwege de diversiteit aan toeristen en gewoonten. Ontmoetingspunt na de lunch: standbeeld van D. Sebastião op Praça Gil Eanes Geleid bezoek te voet, door het centrum van Lagos, langs de slavenmarkt (de eerste slavenmarkt in Europa) en de Santo António-kerk (18e eeuw - een enkel stuk architectuur). Maak kennis met de boog van Saint Gonçalo (een historische toegangspoort tot de oude binnenstad van Lagos) en het standbeeld van dezelfde heilige, waar u kunt genieten van een ideale omgeving voor foto's (Meia Praia, Praia da Batata en het kleine fort van Ponta da Bandeira). Kort bezoek aan Praia do Pinhão en Ponta da Piedade (waar je de vuurtoren en de kliffen met verborgen stranden kunt bewonderen) Houd er rekening mee dat ingangen in musea/kastelen/forten optioneel zijn en niet inbegrepen.
Bezoek aan het dorp Sagres: Praia da Mareta, Pousada en de havenomgeving. Toegang tot het fort van S. Vicente (het meest zuidwestelijke punt van Europa), waar de krachtigste vuurtoren van Europa werd gebouwd - Bereik van zijn licht = 59 km. Entree inbegrepen. Snacktijd (Café do Forte sluit pas na zonsondergang (optioneel). Passage door Sagres Fortress / Fortaleza de Sagres (belangrijk militair fort uit de 15e eeuw). De entree is optioneel en niet inbegrepen.

Our excursion with Johnny was absolutely fantastic! From start to finish, he was the consummate professional. His genuine passion for the Algarve made us appreciate this stunning region of Portugal even more. Before our tour even began, Johnny responded promptly to my emails and went above and beyond by providing thoughtful recommendations for things to see and do in Lisbon and Porto. His enthusiasm for the Algarve was contagious, and his knowledge of the region's history, culture, and hidden gems made every stop meaningful. He was also incredibly accommodating, arranging our schedule so we could enjoy lunch at a restaurant we had wanted to visit in Lagos. Throughout the day, we never felt rushed and were able to fully experience everything the Algarve has to offer. Johnny's warmth, passion, and pride in both the Algarve and Portugal made this one of the highlights of our trip. We did the tour with Johnny to the west coast of the Algarve. First Lagos, where we got a personal tour from Johnny. He knows all the hidden gems lie perfectly. Takes you to the most beautiful places in this surprisingly beautiful city. Then lunch at a place he reserved. Phenomenal views and great food. In Sagres, he knows the best stops to take pictures, and takes you to points where other tourists never go. Grandiose. This was a really fantastic day in the western Algarve. You'll never forget. Johnny will pick you up at your hotel, and drop you off after the tour. Drinks also provided for in the car. This was our second tour with him, but will certainly not be our last. Simply a great guide, a very fine man. Don't think about it, just book with him. You'll have an unforgettable day. Thanks Johnny. And certainly see you next time.

We had an amazing private tour with Johnny. As a family with two young children, Johnny designed the perfect itinerary for us and we squeezed in lots across the day. Johnny is so knowledgeable about the area and has such a passion for his career. The transport was very comfortable and car seats were provided. Johnny provided the perfect level of information as we visited each location and was great with our young daughter. We could not recommend this tour enough, and we really appreciate how flexible Johnny was during the tour, ensuring our little ones always came first. The tour included breathtaking views and lots of opportunities to experience the culture and tastes of the area. We made so many wonderful memories and hope to return so we can do another tour soon!

From start to finish the tour of western Algarve was spectacular. Johnny modified to suit our choices of places. We enjoyed a lovely seafood lunch inside an amazing fortress at Fortaleza da Luz! saw the many Stork nests along route, beautiful old towns, stunningly beautiful scenic cliff boardwalks especially Ponta da Piedade, and all narrated by a knowledgeable and engaging host: Johnny! The ride was smooth, comfortable and relaxing in between stops. Highly recommend this day tour and it is very reasonably priced!

Johnny was an excellent host and driver for our day in the Western Algarve! He had come highly recommended and was as wonderful as we had been told! We started with an incredible boat ride exploring cliffs and caves, with some very talented boat captains, all arranged by Johnny! We then explored Lagos, Sagres, Burgau, … with endless insights and history offered along the way! We’ve now done four tours with Johnny’s Tours, which probably says everything you need know. On Wednesday, we visited Sagres where he brought the history to life in such an engaging way, showing us some really unique and beautiful spots we would never have found on our own. Then on Friday, we had an amazing wine tasting experience, perfectly organised and relaxed. What really sets Johnny apart is how much he genuinely cares about his guests. He connects with everyone, making each tour feel personal and relaxed, and his passion for not only what he does, but the algarve itself shows.

Our tour with Johnny to the western Algarve was the beginning of an adventure in exploring the Algarve and its many beautiful and memorable sites. Johnny created a wonderful tour for us to cater to our interests, covering the history of the area; sharing the stunning Algarve coastline, pointing us to restaurants and taking us to sites off the beaten path. Johnny’s love for the Algarve was infectious and he was very generous with his time. We did not want the tour to end. And it didn’t.
