San Gimignano – Het middeleeuwse Manhattan Als u San Gimignano nadert, verandert het uitzicht weer: tegen de groene Toscaanse heuvels rijzen de hoge torens, die deze stad wereldberoemd hebben gemaakt, omhoog. De torens van San Gimignano zijn een eeuwenoud symbool van macht en prestige. Ze lijken op stenen vingers die naar de hemel wijzen en vertellen het verhaal van een bloeiende en ambitieuze stad in het hart van de middeleeuwen. Het hart van de stad is het Piazza della Cisterna, geplaveid in een visgraatmotief, omringd door historische gebouwen en gedomineerd door de Duivelstoren. Iets verderop ligt het Piazza del Duomo met de collegiale kerk en het stadhuis. Hier vindt u fresco's van de school van Siena en vanaf de Torre Grossa, de hoogste toren van de stad, heeft u een spectaculair uitzicht.

I booked the private half-day tour to Chianti and San Gimignano, and it was one of the highlights of my vacation in Italy. The van was spotless and very comfortable. Shout out to our guide, Asil! San Gimignano is fascinating, our driver was very kind and when we arrived he gave us a lot of really useful information, we tasted a delicious ice cream and after visiting this beautiful city we went to the winery for the tasting and during the trip we took many photos. Sublime wine and the owner really kind and competent, thank you for this wonderful afternoon.
