In de traditie van Lenin, Stalin en Mao is het mausoleum van Ho Chi Minh een monumentaal marmeren bouwwerk. In tegenstelling tot zijn verlangen naar een eenvoudige crematie, werd het mausoleum tussen 1973 en 1975 gebouwd van materialen die uit heel Vietnam waren verzameld. We passeren het mausoleum, stoppen 10 minuten om foto's te maken en luisteren naar de heroïsche geschiedenis van de president van Ho Chi Minh.
Tran Quoc Pagoda is meer dan 1500 jaar oud, wat betekent dat de plaats zo'n belangrijke rol speelt in de ontwikkeling van Vietnam in het algemeen en Hanoi in het bijzonder. Dat is de belangrijkste reden waarom de tempel jaarlijks duizenden bezoekers trekt van over de hele wereld.
Gelegen in het centrum van de hoofdstad van Vietnam, bekend als een van de meest onmenselijke gevangenissen met doodsbange straffen, is Hoa Lo Prison, ook bekend als Maison Centrale, een symbool van de sterke wil van gevangenen en hun opoffering voor hun communistische idealen.
De treinstraat van Hanoi was vroeger een van de meest bekende toeristische bestemmingen in de hoofdstad. Het is een piepklein, kronkelend straatje weggestopt in een van de achterstraten van Hanoi, omgeven door dicht op elkaar staande, hoge, smalle huizen. De trein rijdt een paar keer per dag langs de achtertuinen van deze gezinnen. Onder het genot van een kopje koffie wachten we tot de trein doorrijdt.

Andrew was a wonderful guide. We asked to see Hao Lo Prison (Hanoi Hilton) and Train Street. Andrew was very flexible with our schedule. We also got to see the B-52 museum, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and St. Joseph’s cathedral. It was nice of him to contact us before the tour to ask what we wanted to see and what should be the primary focus. Andrew and the driver were great partners in this experience. If you have a limited amount of time, this is a great tour to see the highlights since it’s only 4 hours.

What a wonderful morning out and about with Oliver on this 4 hour tour. He was informative and interesting about the history of Vietnam but also the current day which we were interested in. Tour was smoothly run and a great introduction to the city. Highly recommended.

This is an amazing tour, a great way to see Hanoi. It shows all the best bits with wonderful local knowledge. We had Tu as our guide and I can’t recommend him enough, he was so knowledgeable, friendly, funny and made us feel welcome. Special mention also to the driver Mr V (ex military) who always found parking spots nearby and managed to negotiate the chaotic traffic in Hanoi City. Harley (Quinn) was our tour booker and Harley (Davidson) was our guide. Both were amazing!! Harley (Quinn) booked our transfer from HAN to our hotel, this tour and a customized private tour of the Conical Hat Village, the Incense village and Trang An and her service was beyond amazing! She was communicating with me the whole time we were here, checking in and helped make this the trip of a lifetime! If you get booked with the driver Mr Thien, he is also awe worthy! How he drives here is beyond my Canadian knowledge base!! I can’t say enough about Crossing Vietnam Tours but especially Harley (Quinn… trust me if you get booked with Harley the tour guide as well you’ll get the joke!

The tour was well organized, and our tour guide Andrew was very nice with good English and good answers on the questions we had.
We loved our 1/2 day private tour with Kane around Hanoi. He spoke English well and was very knowledgeable. The driver and Kane were on time and efficiently moved us around the city sights. Kane was knowledgeable about Vietnam's history, took great photographs and gave us some good tips on traveling in Vietnam. We highly recommend Kane. Thank you!
