Op de ochtend van uw tour haalt een vriendelijke chauffeur u rechtstreeks op bij uw accommodatie in Athene en neemt u mee op een ontspannen rit naar de prachtige Peloponnesos. Dagtochten kunnen volledig worden aangepast en samen met uw chauffeur kunt u de punten van het bezoek en de tijd selecteren die u bij elke stop wilt toewijzen. Er is altijd een voorgestelde route te volgen, maar u bent vrij om de route te bewerken volgens uw voorkeuren. Onze chauffeurs hebben geen vergunning om u mee te nemen naar de bezienswaardigheden, maar zijn zeer goed geïnformeerd over de bezochte plaatsen en bieden alle nodige historische informatie en hun lokale perspectief. Bezoek het prachtige kanaal van Korinthe, de prachtige tempel van Apollo en het Venetiaanse kasteel van Acrocorinth. Wandel door de smalle straatjes van Nafplio en bewonder het beroemde theater van Epidaurus en de oude stad Mycene. Aan het einde van je reis brengt je chauffeur je terug naar Athene.

Het kanaal van Korinthe is een van 's werelds kleinste zeekanalen ter wereld en verbindt de Golf van Korinthe met de Saronische Golf in de Egeïsche Zee.
Het oude Korinthe was een stadstaat op de Isthmus van Korinthe, het smalle stuk land dat de Peloponnesos verbindt met het vasteland van Griekenland.
In de oude stad Mycenae zijn de imposante ruïnes van een grote stad van de Myceense beschaving, die de mediterrane wereld domineerde van de 15e tot de 12e eeuw voor Christus.
Nafplio is de eerste hoofdstad van Griekenland en een schilderachtig havenstadje in de Peloponnesos dat zich heeft uitgebreid tot de heuvels aan de noordkant van de Argolische Golf.
Het theater van Epidaurus vertegenwoordigt het beste en best bewaarde voorbeeld van een klassiek Grieks theater. Zelfs tegen de huidige normen onderscheidt dit monument een unieke artistieke prestatie.

Ophaallocaties en -tijden
Uw Welcome Pickups-chauffeur wacht op u op de geselecteerde ophaallocatie en tijd. Voorafgaand aan uw rit ontvangt u de gegevens van uw chauffeur, waaronder hun naam, telefoonnummer en autogegevens, zodat u ze gemakkelijk kunt herkennen. Uw chauffeur komt op tijd en staat klaar om u en eventuele speciale verzoeken te helpen voordat u aan uw reis begint. Houd er rekening mee dat onze sightseeingtours niet automatisch inclusief ophalen of wegbrengen naar de luchthaven zijn. Als u uw tour op de luchthaven wilt beginnen of eindigen, selecteert u gewoon de optie met airport pick-up inbegrepen bij het boeken indien beschikbaar. Deel eventuele speciale wensen, zoals reizen met een hulpdier of het nodig hebben van extra assistentie, bij het boeken van uw rit. Dit zorgt voor een soepele en plezierige ervaring voor u.

Houd er rekening mee dat bestuurders geen toegang hebben tot musea of archeologische gebieden, maar ze zorgen ervoor dat u het meeste uit uw bezoek haalt met suggesties en achtergrondinformatie voordat u op eigen houtje op ontdekking gaat.

This was such an amazing way to see the Greek countryside and the ancient areas around Corinth, Nafplio and the Peloponnese! Glykeria was a generous host and introduced us to some of the best Greek cuisine, history, and everything the culture has to offer. She was able to tell us all about the history, take us to some of the sites we were really interested in Corinth and is just a generally awesome person! Highly recommend!
This past June we scheduled a day-long tour for two to the Peloponnese through Welcome Pickups. Glykeria picked us up from the hotel on time and immediately became our honorary Greek Grandma, driver, and tour guide. She first took us to Corinth Canal and asked us if we were hungry. We said “No, we had a big breakfast” as we had just eaten. She said, “So what” and handed us meat chunks on a stick. We learned right then that when you’re offered food in Greece, you take it! It was such a delicious treat, and we were grateful. That set the tone for the trip that we were about to be spoiled. The next stop was the Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth where we saw marble statues and gardens. As for ruins in Corinth itself we saw the Temple of Apollo, Central Entrance to the Northwest Shops, etc. She parked in the shade as we toured around the ruins at our leisure, no time limit or anything. The Archeological Site of Mycenae was the following location and wow, I’m so glad we were able to visit these ruins! It is massive - we saw the Lion’s Gate entrance to the Citadel, the Citadel itself, the North Gate, the Tomb of Agamemnon/Treasury of Atreus, etc. It was really a great experience and again Glykeria gave us all the time we needed to explore and climb. The next place she took us was the Theater of Epidarus, which lived up to the hype. It was so cool and fun to climb and test the acoustics. After that we went to the Venetian Palamidi Fortress. She drove to the top so we didn’t climb the stairs even though we totally would have done that if it wasn’t so hot. So she kind of saved us from heatstroke. The views were spectacular and scrambling around the mazes of ruins in the fortress was a blast. We were the only people there. Then she drove us down to Nafplio Village (which is adorable and I can’t believe people get to live there) and dropped us off to explore. We wandered the charming streets, did some shopping and found a seafood spot to eat on the water. She patiently waited and picked us up after our meal. It was time to drive back, and she kept the conversation going the whole time with trivia and stories about the places we went and other fun things to do. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with her and were grateful she was agreeable to us expanding the itinerary. Would use Welcome Pickups again!
Nice tour with friendly driver. Visited beautiful locations with fantastic views. Too bad about the cloudburst in Nafplio. Other than that it was a nice day.
Excellent service for transfers from airport to port or town centre. Good communication and waiting not a problem for a very delayed flight. Second year have used this company because they are very reliable.
Fanis was a very professional driver and knowledgeable about the region. It was nice to have the schedule completely dependent on us and our needs and to not be part of a massive tour group. We hired him for the following day to take us Cape Sounion. This was nice but after spending so much of the past two weeks in Turkey and Greece, we probably should have just spent the entire day sitting by Lake Vouliagmeni once he showed it to us. We had seen plenty of ruin at this point and the relaxation was much needed. Keep in mind that you are hiring a driver not a licensed tour guide. In Greece "tour guides" have intensive training and are certified by the state.
Demetrios was a good host and careful driver. The car was spotless and comfortable. We had rain in Napfolio but otherwise it was perfect.
