Charmant, klein plekje in Nationaal Park in het midden van echt regenwoud, omringd door bomen bedekt met mos rondom.
Prachtig uitzicht op de bergen en meren van Killarney National Park. Meest favoriete plek van Hare Majesteit Koningin Victoria, die Killarney in 1861 bezocht.
Kenmare-stad (Ceann Mara- hoofd van de zee) Voorheen Neidin- nestje. 16e, 17e eeuwse stad van piraten en smokkelaars. Charmant stadje ontworpen door Sir Oliver William Petty, die dit gebied kreeg als betaling voor het in kaart brengen van Ierland. In 1670 legde hij een moderne stad aan. Nu wordt de stad Kenmare door veel mensen bezocht omdat het zo mooi is.
Coomakista, punt van het schiereiland Iveragh. Prachtig uitzicht op Kenmare Bay (Derrynane Bay) en de Scariff- en Deenish-eilanden, door de lokale bevolking de stier, de koe en het kalf genoemd. Ook Abbey Island met ruïnes van Abbey en kerkhof. Alleen bij eb is er een toegang. Aan de andere kant zien we Ballinskellig Bay en de stad Waterville waar Charlie Chaplin zijn zomervakantie doorbracht.
De hoogste kliffen in Kerry County, hoger dan Cliffs of Moher alleen veel minder bekend. Deze plek is een echt verborgen juweeltje van South Kerry. Tot 1000 voet boven de zeespiegel, een prachtig uitzicht. Bij mooi weer kunnen we Skellig Islands zien. Skellig Michael-eiland met mysterieuze bijenkorfhutten bewoond door monniken uit de 5e eeuw en mogelijk eerder door Keltische druïden. Second Island heet Little Skellig. Wilde vogels heiligdom. Meer dan 40K nesten van wilde vogels, voornamelijk papegaaiduikers en jan-van-gent.
Ringfort, 6e eeuw? (geen geschreven verslagen) Bouwen met steen zonder mortel. Kelts richtten die structuren op om de eigen stam te beschermen tegen andere stammen en wilde dieren (wolven en beren).
18e 19e eeuws dorpsmuseum. Goede plek om ons te concentreren op hoe we in het verleden leefden. Kerry Bog Village is een plek die de grote aardappelhongersnood in het midden van de 19e eeuw herdenkt. Traditionele huisjes met rieten daken, geur van verbrande kuilen brengen bezoekers naar de 19e eeuw.

This tour was tailored specifically to our family. We requested views over historical sites and Peter delivered. We brought our three youngest kids. They survived the entire day without electronics thanks to the beautiful scenery and the frequent stops. Bring cash to tip your driver, because you will want to!!!

In addition to the more traditional sites in Killarney National Park, our favorite part of the trip was visiting the Skellig Ring. The Kerry Cliffs and then the Cathergall Stone Fort on Valentia Island were amazing. Our guide, Peter, was very cordial, relaxed and informative. We never felt rushed and were able to makes choices as to where we stopped and for how long. We highly recommend Peter Stanley tours.

A wonderful day in and around the Ring of Kerry with our guide Tony. Very relaxed and time was no object - he couldn’t do enough for us and took us to so many places that coaches wouldn’t be able to go. Tony gave us hints and tips of things to look out for along the way. All in all, A superb trip - well worth every penny and we would do it all over again in a heart beat. <p>Peter drove us around the Ring of Kerry and added an extra side trip to Valentina Island on the ferry. We hoped to see the Skellig Islands but there was limited visibility. We had a relaxed drive around the island and stopped at several viewing places with limited luck. A nice day regardless.</p>
