De oude Pamfylische steden Perge en Aspendos zijn twee van de meest indrukwekkende archeologische sites van Turkije. Met deze tour bezoek je ze alle drie in één dag en krijg je inzicht in de oude geschiedenis van Turkije van je privé Gids. Geniet van een wandeltocht door Perge, bewonder het opmerkelijk bewaarde Aspendos Theater en bewonder het uitzicht op de waterval vanaf de Kurşunlu Waterval. Drie oude steden op één dag : Perge en Aspendos Heerlijke Turkse lunch in een lokaal restaurant Privétour zorgt voor het onverdeelde aandachtsbezoek aan de Kusunlu Waterval.

Perge keert terug naar de geschiedenis als een Pamphylische Griekse stad, en kwam met Pamphylia weer onder opeenvolgende heerschappij door Perzen, Atheners en Perzen. Alexander de Grote, nadat hij Phaselis had verlaten, bezette Perge met een deel van zijn leger. De weg tussen deze twee steden wordt beschreven als lang en moeilijk. Alexanders heerschappij werd gevolgd door het Diadochi-rijk van de Seleuciden en vervolgens door de Romeinen. Perge verwierf bekendheid vanwege de aanbidding van Artemis, wiens tempel op een heuvel buiten de stad stond, en ter ere van wie jaarlijkse festivals werden gevierd. De munten van Perge vertegenwoordigen zowel de godin als haar tempel.
Sommige geleerden associëren de naam van de stad met "Azatiwadaya". De bekende stad met die naam werd gesticht door Azatiwada van Quwê aan zijn oostelijke grens, in Karatepe.[3] Volgens een latere traditie werd Aspendos eerder gesticht door Grieken die mogelijk uit Argos kwamen. Het brede bereik van zijn munten in de antieke wereld geeft aan dat Aspendos in de 5e eeuw voor Christus de belangrijkste stad in Pamphylia was geworden. In die tijd was volgens Thucydides de Eurymedon-rivier bevaarbaar tot aan Aspendos,[4] en de stad haalde grote rijkdom uit de handel in zout, olie en wol. Aspendos speelde in de oudheid geen belangrijke rol als politieke macht. De politieke geschiedenis tijdens de kolonisatieperiode kwam overeen met de stromingen van de Pamphylische regio. Binnen deze trend, na de koloniale periode, bleef het een tijd onder Lycische hegemonie. In 546 voor Christus kwam het onder Perzische heerschappij. Het feit dat de stad op eigen naam munten bleef slaan, wijst er echter op dat
onze reizigers zullen watervallen en vijvers zien in het bosrijke gebied, wat een wonder van de natuur is. Er worden prachtige foto's gemaakt. Turk koffie thee natuurlijk vruchtensap kan hier worden verkregen.

Ömer was a very friendly, knowledgeable guide who went out of his way to give us a great experience. Our driver was excellent in navigating his way around the busy roads. All the places we visited were really interesting. Topped off with a delicious Turkish ice cream at the waterfall. Highly recommend!
